Ihr aber seid ein erwähltes Geschlecht (Volk), ein Königshaus, eine Priesterschaft, ein heiliges Volk (Stamm), ein Volk zum Eigentum (Besitz), damit ihr die guten Taten (Wunder) dessen weit hinaus verkündigt, der euch aus der Finsternis in sein wunderbares Licht gerufen hat.
Mas vosotros sois linaje escogido, real sacerdocio, gente santa, pueblo adquirido, para que anunciéis las virtudes de aquel que os ha llamado de las tinieblas á su luz admirable:
But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:
