DEJANDO pues toda malicia, y todo engaño, y fingimientos, y envidias, y todas las detracciones,
Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings,
Putting away therefore all wickedness, all deceit, hypocrisies, envies, and all evil speaking,
e desejai ansiosamente, como bebês recém-nascidos, o leite da Palavra, não falsificado, para que por meio dele estejais crescendo para a salvação;
Desead, como niños recién nacidos, la leche espiritual, sin engaño, para que por ella crezcáis en salud:
As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:
as newborn babies, long for the pure spiritual milk, that with it you may grow,
se, de fato, já experimentastes que o Senhor é bom.
Si empero habéis gustado que el Señor es benigno;
If so be ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious.

Aproximai-vos dele, que é uma pedra viva, rejeitada pelos seres humanos, mas escolhida e preciosa para Deus.
Al cual allegándoos, piedra viva, reprobada cierto de los hombres, empero elegida de Dios, preciosa,
To whom coming, as unto a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious,

Também vós, como pedras vivas, sois edificados como casa espiritual e sacerdócio santo, para oferecerdes sacrifícios espirituais, agradáveis a Deus por meio de Jesus Cristo.

Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.

Pois também está contido na Escritura: Eis que eu ponho em Sião uma pedra principal de esquina, escolhida e preciosa. Quem nela crer de maneira nenhuma será envergonhado.
Por lo cual también contiene la Escritura: He aquí, pongo en Sión la principal piedra del ángulo, escogida, preciosa; y el que creyere en ella, no será confundido.
Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded.

Assim, para vós, que credes, ela é preciosa. Mas para os incrédulos: A pedra que os construtores rejeitaram, essa se tornou a principal de esquina,
Ella es pues honor á vosotros que creéis: mas para los desobedientes, la piedra que los edificadores reprobaron, ésta fué hecha la cabeza del ángulo;
Unto you therefore which believe he is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner,
For you who believe therefore is the honor, but for those who are disobedient, “The stone which the builders rejected has become the chief cornerstone,”
assim como: pedra de tropeço, e pedra que leva à queda. Eles tropeçam na palavra por serem rebeldes. Para isso eles foram destinados.
Y Piedra de tropiezo, y roca de escándalo á aquellos que tropiezan en la palabra, siendo desobedientes; para lo cual fueron también ordenados.
And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed.

Mas vós sois a geração escolhida, o sacerdócio real, a nação santa, e o povo adquirido; a fim de que anuncieis as virtudes daquele que vos chamou das trevas para a sua maravilhosa luz.

But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:
But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, that you may proclaim the excellence of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.
Antes, vós não éreis povo, mas agora sois povo de Deus. Antes , não havíeis recebido misericórdia, mas agora recebestes misericórdia.
Vosotros, que en el tiempo pasado no erais pueblo, mas ahora sois pueblo de Dios; que en el tiempo pasado no habíais alcanzado misericordia, mas ahora habéis alcanzado misericordia.
Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.

Amados, como a peregrinos e estrangeiros, eu vos peço que vos abstenhais dos desejos carnais, que batalham contra a alma,
Amados, yo os ruego como á extranjeros y peregrinos, os abstengáis de los deseos carnales que batallan contra el alma,
Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;
Beloved, I beg you as foreigners and pilgrims to abstain from fleshly lusts which war against the soul,
e que tenhais um bom comportamento vosso entre os pagãos; para que, naquilo que de vós, como de malfeitores, falam mal, no dia da visitação glorifiquem a Deus por causa das vossas boas obras que virem.
Teniendo vuestra conversación honesta entre los Gentiles; para que, en lo que ellos murmuran de vosotros como de malhechores, glorifiquen á Dios en el día de la visitación, estimándoos por las buenas obras.
Having your conversation honest among the Gentiles: that, whereas they speak against you as evildoers, they may by your good works, which they shall behold, glorify God in the day of visitation.

Sujeitai-vos a toda autoridade humana, por causa do Senhor; seja ao rei, como superior;
Sed pues sujetos á toda ordenación humana por respeto á Dios: ya sea al rey, como á superior;
Submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord’s sake: whether it be to the king, as supreme;

seja aos governantes, como enviados por ele, com o objetivo de castigar os malfeitores, e de conceder honra aos que fazem o bem.
Ya á los gobernadores, como de él enviados para venganza de los malhechores, y para loor de los que hacen bien.
Or unto governors, as unto them that are sent by him for the punishment of evildoers, and for the praise of them that do well.

Pois esta é a vontade de Deus, que, ao fazerdes o bem, caleis a ignorância dos homens tolos.

For so is the will of God, that with well doing ye may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men:

Comportai-vos como pessoas livres, mas não useis a liberdade como pretexto para a malícia. Em vez disso, sede como servos de Deus.
Como libres, y no como teniendo la libertad por cobertura de malicia, sino como siervos de Dios.
As free, and not using your liberty for a cloke of maliciousness, but as the servants of God.
Live as free people, yet not using your freedom for a cloak of wickedness, but as bondservants of God.

Servos, sujeitai-vos com todo temor aos vossos senhores, não somente aos bons e brandos, mas também aos que maltratam.
Siervos, sed sujetos con todo temor á vuestros amos; no solamente á los buenos y humanos, sino también á los rigurosos.
Servants, be subject to your masters with all fear; not only to the good and gentle, but also to the froward.
Servants, be in subjection to your masters with all respect, not only to the good and gentle, but also to the wicked.
Pois coisa agradável é se alguém, por causa da consciência a respeito de Deus, experimente dores, sofrendo injustamente.
Porque esto es agradable, si alguno á causa de la conciencia delante de Dios, sufre molestias padeciendo injustamente.
For this is thankworthy, if a man for conscience toward God endure grief, suffering wrongfully.
For it is commendable if someone endures pain, suffering unjustly, because of conscience toward God.
Afinal, que mérito há em suportar serdes espancados por cometerdes pecado? Contudo, se, quando fazeis o bem, sois afligidos e suportais, isso é a Deus.
Porque ¿qué gloria es, si pecando vosotros sois abofeteados, y lo sufrís? mas si haciendo bien sois afligidos, y lo sufrís, esto ciertamente es agradable delante de Dios.
For what glory is it, if, when ye be buffeted for your faults, ye shall take it patiently? but if, when ye do well, and suffer for it, ye take it patiently, this is acceptable with God.
For what glory is it if, when you sin, you patiently endure beating? But if when you do well, you patiently endure suffering, this is commendable with God.
Pois para isto fostes chamados, porque também Cristo sofreu por vós, deixando-vos exemplo, para que sigais os seus passos.
Porque para esto sois llamados; pues que también Cristo padeció por nosotros, dejándonos ejemplo, para que vosotros sigáis sus pisadas:
For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:
For you were called to this, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving you an example, that you should follow his steps,
Ele não cometeu pecado, nem engano foi achado em sua boca.
El cual no hizo pecado; ni fué hallado engaño en su boca:
Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth:
who didn’t sin, “neither was deceit found in his mouth.”
Quando o insultavam, ele não insultava de volta. Quando sofria, ele não ameaçava; em vez disso, entregava-se ao que julga de maneira justa.
Quien cuando le maldecían, no retornaba maldición; cuando padecía, no amenazaba, sino remitía la causa al que juzga justamente:
Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously:
When he was cursed, he didn’t curse back. When he suffered, he didn’t threaten, but committed himself to him who judges righteously.
Ele levou nossos pecados em seu próprio corpo sobre o madeiro; para que nós, estando mortos para os pecados, vivamos para a justiça. Pela ferida dele fostes sarados.
El cual mismo llevó nuestros pecados en su cuerpo sobre el madero, para que nosotros siendo muertos á los pecados, vivamos á la justicia: por la herida del cual habéis sido sanados.
Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.
He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live to righteousness. You were healed by his wounds.
Porque vós éreis como ovelhas desviadas do caminho; mas agora vós estais convertidos ao Pastor e Supervisor de vossas almas.

For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls.
