Porque nos debe bastar que el tiempo pasado de nuestra vida hayamos hecho la voluntad de los Gentiles, cuando conversábamos en lascivias, en concupiscencias, en embriagueces, en glotonerías, en banquetes, y en abominables idolatrías.
For the time past of our life may suffice us to have wrought the will of the Gentiles, when we walked in lasciviousness, lusts, excess of wine, revellings, banquetings, and abominable idolatries:

Ce que ces Gentils trouvant fort étrange, ils vous blâment de ce que vous ne courez pas avec eux dans un même abandonnement de dissolution.
En lo cual les parece cosa extraña que vosotros no corráis con ellos en el mismo desenfrenamiento de disolución, ultrajándoos:
Wherein they think it strange that ye run not with them to the same excess of riot, speaking evil of you:

Mais ils rendront compte à celui qui est prêt à juger les vivants et les morts.
Los cuales darán cuenta al que está aparejado para juzgar los vivos y los muertos.
Who shall give account to him that is ready to judge the quick and the dead.
They will give account to him who is ready to judge the living and the dead.
Car c’est aussi pour cela qu’il a été évangélisé aux morts, afin qu’ils fussent jugés selon les hommes en la chair, et qu’ils vécussent selon Dieu dans l’esprit.
Porque por esto también ha sido predicado el evangelio á los muertos; para que sean juzgados en carne según los hombres, y vivan en espíritu según Dios.

As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.
As each has received a gift, employ it in serving one another, as good managers of the grace of God in its various forms.
Si quelqu’un parle, qu’il parle comme annonçant les paroles de Dieu, si quelqu’un administre, qu’il administre comme par la puissance que Dieu lui en a fournie ; afin qu’en toutes choses Dieu soit glorifié par Jésus-Christ, auquel appartient la gloire et la force aux siècles des siècles, Amen !

Mais en ce que vous participez aux souffrances de Christ, réjouissez vous ; afin qu’aussi à la révélation de sa gloire, vous vous réjouissiez avec allégresse.

For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?
For the time has come for judgment to begin with the household of God. If it begins first with us, what will happen to those who don’t obey the Good News of God?
Et si le juste est difficilement sauvé, où comparaîtra le méchant et le pécheur ?
Y si el justo con dificultad se salva, ¿á dónde aparecerá el infiel y el pecador?
And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?
“If it is hard for the righteous to be saved, what will happen to the ungodly and the sinner?”
Que ceux-là donc aussi qui souffrent par la volonté de Dieu, puisqu’ils font ce qui est bon lui recommandent leurs âmes, comme au fidèle Créateur.
Y por eso los que son afligidos según la voluntad de Dios, encomiéndenle sus almas, como á fiel Criador, haciendo bien.
Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to him in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator.
Therefore let them also who suffer according to the will of God in doing good entrust their souls to him, as to a faithful Creator.
