Puesto que Cristo sufrió en su cuerpo, ustedes también deben estar dispuestos a sufrir, porque el que ha sufrido en el cuerpo ha roto con el pecado,
PUES que Cristo ha padecido por nosotros en la carne, vosotros también estad armados del mismo pensamiento: que el que ha padecido en la carne, cesó de pecado;
Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin;
Therefore, since Christ suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same mind; for he who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin,
para que el resto de su vida no la viva siguiendo sus pasiones humanas sino cumpliendo la voluntad de Dios.
Para que ya el tiempo que queda en carne, viva, no á las concupiscencias de los hombres, sino á la voluntad de Dios.
That he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God.
that you no longer should live the rest of your time in the flesh for the lusts of men, but for the will of God.
Ya basta que en el pasado ustedes hayan desperdiciado el tiempo haciendo lo que les gusta hacer a los que no creen. Vivían para sus vicios, malos deseos, borracheras y fiestas desenfrenadas, y para adorar a sus ídolos detestables.
Porque nos debe bastar que el tiempo pasado de nuestra vida hayamos hecho la voluntad de los Gentiles, cuando conversábamos en lascivias, en concupiscencias, en embriagueces, en glotonerías, en banquetes, y en abominables idolatrías.
For the time past of our life may suffice us to have wrought the will of the Gentiles, when we walked in lasciviousness, lusts, excess of wine, revellings, banquetings, and abominable idolatries:
For we have spent enough of our past time doing the desire of the Gentiles, and having walked in lewdness, lusts, drunken binges, orgies, carousings, and abominable idolatries.
A ellos les parece extraño que ustedes ya no se junten con ellos para andar en las mismas inmoralidades y por eso los insultan.
En lo cual les parece cosa extraña que vosotros no corráis con ellos en el mismo desenfrenamiento de disolución, ultrajándoos:
Wherein they think it strange that ye run not with them to the same excess of riot, speaking evil of you:
They think it is strange that you don’t run with them into the same excess of riot, speaking evil of you.
Pero ellos tendrán que darle cuentas a Aquel que está preparado para juzgar a los vivos y a los muertos.
Los cuales darán cuenta al que está aparejado para juzgar los vivos y los muertos.
Who shall give account to him that is ready to judge the quick and the dead.
They will give account to him who is ready to judge the living and the dead.
Por eso también se les predicó el evangelio aun a los muertos, para que, a pesar de haber sido juzgados en este mundo por lo que hicieron en vida, vivan conforme a Dios en el espíritu.
Porque por esto también ha sido predicado el evangelio á los muertos; para que sean juzgados en carne según los hombres, y vivan en espíritu según Dios.
For for this cause was the gospel preached also to them that are dead, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in the spirit.
For to this end the Good News was preached even to the dead, that they might be judged indeed as men in the flesh, but live as to God in the spirit.
Ya se acerca el fin de todas las cosas. Por tanto, sean serios y responsables en la oración.
Mas el fin de todas las cosas se acerca: sed pues templados, y velad en oración.
But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer.
But the end of all things is near. Therefore be of sound mind, self-controlled, and sober in prayer.
Sobre todo, ámense en gran manera unos a otros, porque el amor cubre muchos pecados.
Y sobre todo, tened entre vosotros ferviente caridad; porque la caridad cubrirá multitud de pecados.
And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins.
And above all things be earnest in your love among yourselves, for love covers a multitude of sins.
Recíbanse unos a otros en sus casas, sin hablar mal de nadie.
Hospedaos los unos á los otros sin murmuraciones.
Use hospitality one to another without grudging.
Be hospitable to one another without grumbling.
Cada uno de ustedes ha recibido algún don de Dios; úsenlo para servir a los demás. Sean fieles administradores de los diferentes dones de Dios.
Cada uno según el don que ha recibido, adminístrelo á los otros, como buenos dispensadores de las diferentes gracias de Dios.
As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.
As each has received a gift, employ it in serving one another, as good managers of the grace of God in its various forms.
El que habla, que lo haga como el que habla las palabras mismas de Dios. El que presta algún servicio, que lo haga como el que tiene la fuerza de Dios para hacerlo. Así, en todo lo que ustedes hagan, Dios será alabado por medio de Jesucristo, a quien le pertenece la gloria y el poder para siempre. Amén.
Si alguno habla, hable conforme á las palabras de Dios; si alguno ministra, ministre conforme á la virtud que Dios suministra: para que en todas cosas sea Dios glorificado por Jesucristo, al cual es gloria é imperio para siempre jamás. Amén.
If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.
If anyone speaks, let it be as it were the very words of God. If anyone serves, let it be as of the strength which God supplies, that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belong the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.
Queridos hermanos, no se sorprendan del fuego de la prueba por el que están pasando, como si fuera algo extraño.
Carísimos, no os maravilléis cuando sois examinados por fuego, lo cual se hace para vuestra prueba, como si alguna cosa peregrina os aconteciese;
Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you:
Beloved, don’t be astonished at the fiery trial which has come upon you to test you, as though a strange thing happened to you.
Al contrario, alégrense de tener parte en los sufrimientos de Cristo, para que también se alegren muchísimo cuando se muestre la gloria de Cristo.
Antes bien gozaos en que sois participantes de las aflicciones de Cristo; para que también en la revelación de su gloria os gocéis en triunfo.
But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ’s sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.
But because you are partakers of Christ’s sufferings, rejoice, that at the revelation of his glory you also may rejoice with exceeding joy.
Dichosos ustedes si los insultan por causa de Cristo, porque el glorioso Espíritu de Dios está siempre con ustedes.
Si sois vituperados en el nombre de Cristo, sois bienaventurados; porque la gloria y el Espíritu de Dios reposan sobre vosotros. Cierto, según ellos, él es blasfemado, mas según vosotros es glorificado.
If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye; for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you: on their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified.
If you are insulted for the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you. On their part he is blasphemed, but on your part he is glorified.
Si alguno de ustedes sufre, que no sea por ser asesino, ladrón o malhechor, ni siquiera por meterse en los asuntos ajenos.
Así que, ninguno de vosotros padezca como homicida, ó ladrón, ó malhechor, ó por meterse en negocios ajenos.
But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or as a thief, or as an evildoer, or as a busybody in other men’s matters.
But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or a thief, or an evil doer, or a meddler in other men’s matters.
Pero si alguno sufre por ser cristiano, que no se avergüence, sino que alabe a Dios por llevar el nombre de Cristo.
Pero si alguno padece como Cristiano, no se avergüence; antes glorifique á Dios en esta parte.
Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf.

Ya es tiempo de que el juicio comience por la propia familia de Dios. Y si comienza por nosotros, ¡imagínense el fin que les espera a los que no obedecen al evangelio de Dios!
Porque es tiempo de que el juicio comience de la casa de Dios: y si primero comienza por nosotros, ¿qué será el fin de aquellos que no obedecen al evangelio de Dios?
For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?
For the time has come for judgment to begin with the household of God. If it begins first with us, what will happen to those who don’t obey the Good News of God?
«Si el justo con dificultad se salva, ¿qué le pasará al malvado y al pecador?».
Y si el justo con dificultad se salva, ¿á dónde aparecerá el infiel y el pecador?
And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?
“If it is hard for the righteous to be saved, what will happen to the ungodly and the sinner?”
Así pues, los que sufren porque Dios así lo quiere, sigan haciendo el bien y entréguense a su Creador, porque él es fiel.
Y por eso los que son afligidos según la voluntad de Dios, encomiéndenle sus almas, como á fiel Criador, haciendo bien.
Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to him in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator.
Therefore let them also who suffer according to the will of God in doing good entrust their souls to him, as to a faithful Creator.
