Les ruego a los ancianos, yo, que también soy anciano como ellos y testigo de los sufrimientos de Cristo, y que tendré junto con ellos parte en la gloria de Cristo,
RUEGO á los ancianos que están entre vosotros, yo anciano también con ellos, y testigo de las aflicciones de Cristo, que soy también participante de la gloria que ha de ser revelada:
The elders which are among you I exhort, who am also an elder, and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and also a partaker of the glory that shall be revealed:
Therefore I exhort the elders among you, as a fellow elder and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and who will also share in the glory that will be revealed:
que, como pastores, cuiden ustedes a las ovejas de Dios que están a su cargo. No lo hagan porque es su obligación ni por ambición de dinero, sino porque tienen el deseo de servir, como Dios quiere.
Apacentad la grey de Dios que está entre vosotros, teniendo cuidado de ella, no por fuerza, sino voluntariamente; no por ganancia deshonesta, sino de un ánimo pronto;
Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind;
shepherd the flock of God which is among you, exercising the oversight, not under compulsion, but voluntarily; not for dishonest gain, but willingly;
No traten a los que están bajo su cuidado como si ustedes fueran dueños de ellos, sino sírvanles de ejemplo.
Y no como teniendo señorío sobre las heredades del Señor, sino siendo dechados de la grey.
Neither as being lords over God’s heritage, but being ensamples to the flock.
not as lording it over those entrusted to you, but making yourselves examples to the flock.
Así, cuando aparezca el Pastor principal, ustedes recibirán la corona de gloria que durará para siempre.
Y cuando apareciere el Príncipe de los pastores, vosotros recibiréis la corona incorruptible de gloria.
And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away.

También a los jóvenes les digo: obedezcan a los ancianos. Trátense unos a otros con humildad, porque «Dios está en contra de los orgullosos, pero a favor de los humildes».
Igualmente, mancebos, sed sujetos á los ancianos; y todos sumisos unos á otros, revestíos de humildad; porque Dios resiste á los soberbios, y da gracia á los humildes.
Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.

Humíllense bajo el poder de Dios, para que él los enaltezca cuando llegue el momento oportuno.
Humillaos pues bajo la poderosa mano de Dios, para que él os ensalce cuando fuere tiempo;

Dejen en las manos de Dios todas sus preocupaciones, porque él cuida de ustedes.

Tengan cuidado y estén siempre alertas, pues su enemigo, el diablo, anda como león rugiente buscando a quién devorar.
Sed templados, y velad; porque vuestro adversario el diablo, cual león rugiente, anda alrededor buscando á quien devore:
Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
Be sober and self-controlled. Be watchful. Your adversary, the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.
Resistan sus ataques manteniéndose firmes en la fe. Recuerden que los hermanos de ustedes en todo el mundo están soportando la misma clase de sufrimientos.
Al cual resistid firmes en la fe, sabiendo que las mismas aflicciones han de ser cumplidas en la compañía de vuestros hermanos que están en el mundo.
Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.
Withstand him steadfast in your faith, knowing that your brothers who are in the world are undergoing the same sufferings.
Y después que ustedes hayan sufrido por un poco de tiempo, Dios mismo los restaurará, los hará fuertes, firmes, y les dará seguridad.
Mas el Dios de toda gracia, que nos ha llamado á su gloria eterna por Jesucristo, después que hubiereis un poco de tiempo padecido, él mismo os perfeccione, confirme, corrobore y establezca.
But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.
