Then Samuel took a vial of oil, and poured it upon his head, and kissed him, and said, Is it not because the LORD hath anointed thee to be captain over his inheritance?

Quando você partir, vai ver dois homens ao lado do túmulo de Raquel, em Zelza, na terra de Benjamim; eles lhe dirão que as jumentas já foram encontradas, e que seu pai deixou de se importar com elas e está preocupado com a sua demora, e pergunta: ‘O que posso fazer para encontrar o meu filho?’
Hoy, después que te hayas apartado de mí, hallarás dos hombres junto al sepulcro de Rachêl, en el término de Benjamín, en Selsah, los cuales te dirán: Las asnas que habías ido á buscar, se han hallado; tu padre pues ha dejado ya el negocio de las asnas, si bien está angustioso por vosotros, diciendo: ¿Qué haré acerca de mi hijo?
When thou art departed from me to day, then thou shalt find two men by Rachel’s sepulchre in the border of Benjamin at Zelzah; and they will say unto thee, The asses which thou wentest to seek are found: and, lo, thy father hath left the care of the asses, and sorroweth for you, saying, What shall I do for my son?
When you have departed from me today, then you will find two men by Rachel’s tomb, on the border of Benjamin at Zelzah. They will tell you, ‘The donkeys which you went to look for have been found; and behold, your father has stopped caring about the donkeys and is anxious for you, saying, “What shall I do for my son?”’
“E quando você chegar ao carvalho de Tabor, verá três homens vindo em sua direção; eles estão a caminho de Betel, onde vão adorar a Deus no altar que existe ali. Um deles estará levando três cabritos, outro estará levando três pães, e o terceiro uma vasilha de vinho.
Y como de allí te fueres más adelante, y llegares á la campiña de Tabor, te saldrán al encuentro tres hombres que suben á Dios en Beth-el, llevando el uno tres cabritos, y el otro tres tortas de pan, y el tercero una vasija de vino:
Then shalt thou go on forward from thence, and thou shalt come to the plain of Tabor, and there shall meet thee three men going up to God to Beth-el, one carrying three kids, and another carrying three loaves of bread, and another carrying a bottle of wine:
“Then you will go on forward from there, and you will come to the oak of Tabor. Three men will meet you there going up to God to Bethel: one carrying three young goats, and another carrying three loaves of bread, and another carrying a container of wine.
Eles vão cumprimentá-lo e oferecerlhe dois pães, que você deverá aceitar.

And they will salute thee, and give thee two loaves of bread; which thou shalt receive of their hands.

“Depois disso você irá a Gibeá-Eloim, também conhecido como ‘Monte de Deus’, onde se encontra uma tropa dos filisteus que guarda a cidade. Ao chegar lá, você encontrará um grupo de profetas descendo do monte; eles virão tocando saltérios, tambores, flautas e harpas, e eles também profetizarão.
De allí vendrás al collado de Dios donde está la guarnición de los Filisteos; y cuando entrares allá en la ciudad encontrarás una compañía de profetas que descienden del alto, y delante de ellos salterio, y adufe, y flauta, y arpa, y ellos profetizando:
After that thou shalt come to the hill of God, where is the garrison of the Philistines: and it shall come to pass, when thou art come thither to the city, that thou shalt meet a company of prophets coming down from the high place with a psaltery, and a tabret, and a pipe, and a harp, before them; and they shall prophesy:
“After that you will come to the hill of God, where the garrison of the Philistines is; and it will happen, when you have come there to the city, that you will meet a band of prophets coming down from the high place with a lute, a tambourine, a pipe, and a harp before them; and they will be prophesying.
“Nesse momento, o Espírito do Senhor virá poderosamente sobre você, e você profetizará com eles e será transformado em uma nova pessoa.
Y el espíritu de Jehová te arrebatará, y profetizarás con ellos, y serás mudado en otro hombre.
And the Spirit of the LORD will come upon thee, and thou shalt prophesy with them, and shalt be turned into another man.
Then the LORD’s Spirit will come mightily on you, then you will prophesy with them and will be turned into another man.
Assim que esses sinais se cumprirem, tome as decisões que parecerem certas para você, pois o Senhor estará com você.
Y cuando te hubieren sobrevenido estas señales, haz lo que te viniere á la mano, porque Dios es contigo.
And let it be, when these signs are come unto thee, that thou do as occasion serve thee; for God is with thee.
Let it be, when these signs have come to you, that you do what is appropriate for the occasion; for God is with you.
“Vá a Gilgal e espere ali por mim durante sete dias, pois eu irei lá a fim de oferecer os sacrifícios queimados e os sacrifícios de paz. Quando chegar, eu lhe darei outras instruções”.
Y bajarás delante de mí á Gilgal; y luego descenderé yo á ti para sacrificar holocaustos, é inmolar víctimas pacíficas. Espera siete días, hasta que yo venga á ti, y te enseñe lo que has de hacer.
And thou shalt go down before me to Gilgal; and, behold, I will come down unto thee, to offer burnt offerings, and to sacrifice sacrifices of peace offerings: seven days shalt thou tarry, till I come to thee, and shew thee what thou shalt do.
“Go down ahead of me to Gilgal; and behold, I will come down to you to offer burnt offerings and to sacrifice sacrifices of peace offerings. Wait seven days, until I come to you and show you what you are to do.”
Quando Saul se despediu e virou as costas para se afastar dele, Deus mudou o coração de Saul, e todos os sinais profetizados por Samuel se cumpriram naquele dia.
Y fué que así como tornó él su hombro para partirse de Samuel, mudóle Dios su corazón; y todas estas señales acaecieron en aquel día.
And it was so, that when he had turned his back to go from Samuel, God gave him another heart: and all those signs came to pass that day.

No momento em que Saul e o empregado chegaram a Gibeá, viram os profetas que vinham ao encontro deles, e o Espírito de Deus se apossou de Saul, e ele também começou a profetizar no meio deles.

Quando seus amigos souberam disso, exclamaram: “O que aconteceu ao filho de Quis? Saul agora também é profeta?”

And it came to pass, when all that knew him beforetime saw that, behold, he prophesied among the prophets, then the people said one to another, What is this that is come unto the son of Kish? Is Saul also among the prophets?
When all who knew him before saw that, behold, he prophesied with the prophets, then the people said to one another, “What is this that has come to the son of Kish? Is Saul also among the prophets?”
E um homem dali acrescentou: “E quem é o pai deles?” Daí teve origem o provérbio: “Saul também está entre os profetas?”
Y alguno de allí respondió, y dijo: ¿Y quién es el padre de ellos? Por esta causa se tornó en proverbio: ¿También Saúl entre los profetas?
And one of the same place answered and said, But who is their father? Therefore it became a proverb, Is Saul also among the prophets?

Tendo Saul acabado de profetizar, subiu ao monte onde estava o altar.
Y cesó de profetizar, y llegó al alto.
And when he had made an end of prophesying, he came to the high place.

“Por onde vocês andaram?”, perguntou o tio de Saul. E Saul respondeu: “Saímos para procurar as jumentas, mas não conseguimos encontrálas; então fomos ao profeta Samuel”.
Y un tío de Saúl dijo á él y á su criado: ¿Dónde fuisteis? Y él respondió: A buscar las asnas; y como vimos que no parecían, fuimos á Samuel.
And Saul’s uncle said unto him and to his servant, Whither went ye? And he said, To seek the asses: and when we saw that they were no where, we came to Samuel.
Saul’s uncle said to him and to his servant, “Where did you go?” He said, “To seek the donkeys. When we saw that they were not found, we came to Samuel.”
“E que foi que Samuel disse?”, perguntou o tio.
Y dijo el tío de Saúl: Yo te ruego me declares qué os dijo Samuel.
And Saul’s uncle said, Tell me, I pray thee, what Samuel said unto you.
Saul’s uncle said, “Please tell me what Samuel said to you.”
“Ele disse que as jumentas já tinham sido encontradas”, respondeu Saul. Porém ele não contou ao tio que Samuel o tinha ungido rei!
Y Saúl respondió á su tío: Declarónos expresamente que las asnas habían parecido. Mas del negocio del reino, de que Samuel le había hablado, no le descubrió nada.
And Saul said unto his uncle, He told us plainly that the asses were found. But of the matter of the kingdom, whereof Samuel spake, he told him not.
Saul said to his uncle, “He told us plainly that the donkeys were found.” But concerning the matter of the kingdom, of which Samuel spoke, he didn’t tell him.
Samuel mandou que todo o povo de Israel se reunisse em Mispá,
Y Samuel convocó el pueblo á Jehová en Mizpa;
And Samuel called the people together unto the LORD to Mizpeh;

e deu ao povo este recado: “Assim diz o Senhor, o Deus de Israel: ‘Eu tirei Israel do Egito e livrei vocês do poder dos egípcios e de todas as nações que maltrataram vocês’.
Y dijo á los hijos de Israel: Así ha dicho Jehová el Dios de Israel: Yo saqué á Israel de Egipto, y os libré de mano de los Egipcios, y de mano de todos los reinos que os afligieron:
And said unto the children of Israel, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, I brought up Israel out of Egypt, and delivered you out of the hand of the Egyptians, and out of the hand of all kingdoms, and of them that oppressed you:
and he said to the children of Israel, “The LORD, the God of Israel, says ‘I brought Israel up out of Egypt and I delivered you out of the hand of the Egyptians, and out of the hand of all the kingdoms that oppressed you.’
Mas apesar de ter feito tudo isso em favor de vocês, ainda assim rejeitaram o Deus que os salva de todas as suas desgraças e angústias, e disseram: ‘Preferimos ter um rei!’ Por isso, apresentem-se, diante do Senhor, de acordo com as suas tribos e grupos de famílias”.
Mas vosotros habéis desechado hoy á vuestro Dios, que os guarda de todas vuestras aflicciones y angustias, y dijisteis: No, sino pon rey sobre nosotros. Ahora pues, poneos delante de Jehová por vuestras tribus y por vuestros millares.
And ye have this day rejected your God, who himself saved you out of all your adversities and your tribulations; and ye have said unto him, Nay, but set a king over us. Now therefore present yourselves before the LORD by your tribes, and by your thousands.
But you have today rejected your God, who himself saves you out of all your calamities and your distresses; and you have said to him, ‘No! Set a king over us!’ Now therefore present yourselves before the LORD by your tribes and by your thousands.”
Assim Samuel reuniu todas as tribos de Israel diante do Senhor, e a tribo de Benjamim foi escolhida por sorteio.
Y haciendo allegar Samuel todas las tribus de Israel, fué tomada la tribu de Benjamín.
And when Samuel had caused all the tribes of Israel to come near, the tribe of Benjamin was taken.
So Samuel brought all the tribes of Israel near, and the tribe of Benjamin was chosen.
Então Samuel fez chegar a tribo de Benjamim, diante do Senhor, grupo de família por grupo de família, e a família de Matri foi escolhida. E, finalmente, foi sorteado Saul, filho de Quis. Mas quando o procuraram, não o encontraram!
E hizo llegar la tribu de Benjamín por sus linajes, y fué tomada la familia de Matri; y de ella fué tomado Saúl hijo de Cis. Y le buscaron, mas no fué hallado.
When he had caused the tribe of Benjamin to come near by their families, the family of Matri was taken, and Saul the son of Kish was taken: and when they sought him, he could not be found.
He brought the tribe of Benjamin near by their families and the family of the Matrites was chosen. Then Saul the son of Kish was chosen; but when they looked for him, he could not be found.
Por isso consultaram novamente o Senhor: “Ele está aqui entre nós?” E o Senhor respondeu: “Saul está escondido no meio da bagagem”.
Preguntaron pues otra vez á Jehová, si había aún de venir allí aquel varón. Y respondió Jehová: He aquí que él está escondido entre el bagaje.
Therefore they enquired of the LORD further, if the man should yet come thither. And the LORD answered, Behold, he hath hid himself among the stuff.
Therefore they asked of the LORD further, “Is there yet a man to come here?” The LORD answered, “Behold, he has hidden himself among the baggage.”
Eles correram e o trouxeram de lá. Quando ficou em pé no meio do povo, ele era maior do que todos do povo; os mais altos do povo só lhe chegavam aos ombros.
Entonces corrieron, y tomáronlo de allí, y puesto en medio del pueblo, desde el hombro arriba era más alto que todo el pueblo.
And they ran and fetched him thence: and when he stood among the people, he was higher than any of the people from his shoulders and upward.

Então Samuel disse a todo o povo: “Vocês estão vendo o homem que o Senhor escolheu? Pois em todo o povo não há ninguém semelhante a ele!” E o povo gritou: “Viva o rei!”
Y Samuel dijo á todo el pueblo: ¿Habéis visto al que ha elegido Jehová, que no hay semejante á él en todo el pueblo? Entonces el pueblo clamó con alegría, diciendo: Viva el rey.
And Samuel said to all the people, See ye him whom the LORD hath chosen, that there is none like him among all the people? And all the people shouted, and said, God save the king.
Samuel said to all the people, “Do you see him whom the LORD has chosen, that there is no one like him among all the people?” All the people shouted and said, “Long live the king!”
Samuel repetiu então ao povo os direitos e obrigações de um rei, e escreveu-os num livro e colocou esse livro num lugar especial perante o Senhor. Depois Samuel mandou que todos voltassem para casa.
Samuel recitó luego al pueblo el derecho del reino, y escribiólo en un libro, el cual guardó delante de Jehová.
Then Samuel told the people the manner of the kingdom, and wrote it in a book, and laid it up before the LORD. And Samuel sent all the people away, every man to his house.

Quando Saul voltou para sua casa em Gibeá, Deus tocou o coração de um grupo de homens valentes que foram com Saul.
Y envió Samuel á todo el pueblo cada uno á su casa. Y Saúl también se fué á su casa en Gabaa, y fueron con él el ejército, el corazón de los cuales Dios había tocado.
And Saul also went home to Gibeah; and there went with him a band of men, whose hearts God had touched.

Havia, porém, alguns vadios que exclamavam: “Como este homem pode salvar-nos?” E desprezaram Saul e não lhe trouxeram presente algum. Porém Saul não lhes deu ouvidos.
Pero los impíos dijeron: ¿Cómo nos ha de salvar éste? Y tuviéronle en poco, y no le trajeron presente: mas él disimuló.
But the children of Belial said, How shall this man save us? And they despised him, and brought him no presents. But he held his peace.
