Y SUBIÓ Naas Ammonita, y asentó campo contra Jabes de Galaad. Y todos los de Jabes dijeron á Naas: Haz alianza con nosotros, y te serviremos.

E Nahas Ammonita disse loro: Io farò patti con voi, con questo che io vi cavi a tutti l'occhio destro, e metta questo vituperio sopra tutto Israele.
Y Naas Ammonita les respondió: Con esta condición haré alianza con vosotros, que á cada uno de todos vosotros saque el ojo derecho, y ponga esta afrenta sobre todo Israel.
And Nahash the Ammonite answered them, On this condition will I make a covenant with you, that I may thrust out all your right eyes, and lay it for a reproach upon all Israel.

E gli Anziani di Iabes gli dissero: Concedici tregua di sette giorni, acciocchè noi mandiamo messi per tutte le contrade d'Israele; e se niuno ci libera, noi usciremo fuori a te.
Entonces los ancianos de Jabes le dijeron: Danos siete días, para que enviemos mensajeros á todos los términos de Israel; y si nadie hubiere que nos defienda, saldremos á ti.

E lo Spirito del Signore si avventò sopra Saulle, quando egli udì quelle parole, ed egli si accese nell'ira grandemente.

And the Spirit of God came upon Saul when he heard those tidings, and his anger was kindled greatly.

E prese un paio di buoi, e li tagliò in pezzi, i quali egli mandò per tutte le contrade d'Israle, per certi messi, dicendo: Chiunque non uscirà dietro a Saulle, e dietro a Samuele, il simigliante si farà a' suoi buoi. E lo spavento del Signore cadde sopra il popolo; e tutti uscirono fuori, come se non fossero stati che un uomo.

E que' di Iabes dissero agli Ammoniti: Domani noi usciremo fuori a voi, e voi ci farete interamente come e' vi parrà.

E il giorno seguente Saulle dispose il popolo in tre schiere; e quelle entrarono dentro al campo in su la veglia della mattina, e percossero gli Ammoniti, finchè il dì fu riscaldato. E avvenne che coloro che scamparono furono dispersi qua e là, e non ne rimase di loro due insieme.

El pueblo entonces dijo á Samuel: ¿Quiénes son lo que decían: Reinará Saúl sobre nosotros? Dadnos esos hombres, y los mataremos.
And the people said unto Samuel, Who is he that said, Shall Saul reign over us? bring the men, that we may put them to death.

Ma Saulle disse: Ei non si farà morire alcuno in questo giorno; perciocchè oggi il Signore ha fatta liberazione in Israele.

E tutto il popolo andò in Ghilgal, e quivi costituirono re Saulle, davanti al Signore, in Ghilgal; quivi ancora, nel cospetto del Signore, sacrificarono sacrificii da render grazie. E Saulle, e tutti gli uomini d'Israele, si rallegrarono quivi grandemente.
Y fué todo el pueblo á Gilgal, é invistieron allí á Saúl por rey delante de Jehová en Gilgal. Y sacrificaron allí víctimas pacíficas delante de Jehová; y alegráronse mucho allí Saúl y todos los de Israel.
