Y SUBIÓ Naas Ammonita, y asentó campo contra Jabes de Galaad. Y todos los de Jabes dijeron á Naas: Haz alianza con nosotros, y te serviremos.
Then Nahash the Ammonite came up, and encamped against Jabesh-gilead: and all the men of Jabesh said unto Nahash, Make a covenant with us, and we will serve thee.

Aber Nahas, der Ammoniter, antwortete ihnen: So will ich mit euch einen Bund machen, daß ich euch allen das rechte Auge aussteche und damit auf ganz Israel Schmach bringe.
Y Naas Ammonita les respondió: Con esta condición haré alianza con vosotros, que á cada uno de todos vosotros saque el ojo derecho, y ponga esta afrenta sobre todo Israel.
And Nahash the Ammonite answered them, On this condition will I make a covenant with you, that I may thrust out all your right eyes, and lay it for a reproach upon all Israel.
Nahash the Ammonite said to them, “On this condition I will make it with you, that all your right eyes be gouged out. I will make this dishonor all Israel.”
Da sprachen die Ältesten von Jabes zu ihm: Gib uns sieben Tage Frist, daß wir Boten senden in das ganze Gebiet Israels. Ist dann niemand, der uns hilft, so wollen wir zu dir hinausgehen!
Entonces los ancianos de Jabes le dijeron: Danos siete días, para que enviemos mensajeros á todos los términos de Israel; y si nadie hubiere que nos defienda, saldremos á ti.

Da kamen die Boten nach Gibea zu Saul und redeten solches vor den Ohren des Volkes. Da erhob das ganze Volk seine Stimme und weinte.

Y el espíritu de Dios arrebató á Saúl en oyendo estas palabras, y encendióse en ira en gran manera.
And the Spirit of God came upon Saul when he heard those tidings, and his anger was kindled greatly.

und er nahm ein Paar Rinder und zerstückelte sie und sandte davon durch Boten in alle Landmarken Israels und ließ sagen: Wer nicht auszieht, Saul und Samuel nach, dessen Rindern wird man also tun! Da fiel die Furcht des HERRN auf das Volk, daß sie auszogen wie ein Mann.

Am andern Morgen stellte Saul das Volk in drei Heerhaufen auf, und sie drangen um die Morgenwache ins feindliche Lager und schlugen die Ammoniter, bis der Tag am heißesten war; die Übriggebliebenen aber wurden so versprengt, daß ihrer nicht zwei beieinander blieben.

Da sprach das Volk zu Samuel: Wer sind die, welche sagten: Sollte Saul über uns herrschen? Gebt diese Männer her, daß wir sie töten!
El pueblo entonces dijo á Samuel: ¿Quiénes son lo que decían: Reinará Saúl sobre nosotros? Dadnos esos hombres, y los mataremos.
And the people said unto Samuel, Who is he that said, Shall Saul reign over us? bring the men, that we may put them to death.

Saul aber sprach: Es soll an diesem Tag niemand sterben; denn der HERR hat heute Heil gegeben in Israel.
Y Saúl dijo: No morirá hoy ninguno, porque hoy ha obrado Jehová salud en Israel.
And Saul said, There shall not a man be put to death this day: for to day the LORD hath wrought salvation in Israel.

Samuel sprach zum Volk: Kommt, laßt uns nach Gilgal gehen und das Königtum daselbst erneuern!
Mas Samuel dijo al pueblo: Venid, vamos á Gilgal para que renovemos allí el reino.
Then said Samuel to the people, Come, and let us go to Gilgal, and renew the kingdom there.

Da ging alles Volk nach Gilgal und machte daselbst Saul zum König vor dem HERRN zu Gilgal und opferte daselbst Dankopfer vor dem HERRN. Und Saul und alle Männer Israels freuten sich daselbst gar sehr.
Y fué todo el pueblo á Gilgal, é invistieron allí á Saúl por rey delante de Jehová en Gilgal. Y sacrificaron allí víctimas pacíficas delante de Jehová; y alegráronse mucho allí Saúl y todos los de Israel.
