1 Samuel 13

Saül comptait alors un an de règne. Depuis deux ans il régnait sur Israël,

HABÍA ya Saúl reinado un año; y reinado que hubo dos años sobre Israel,

Saul reigned one year; and when he had reigned two years over Israel,

Saul was thirty years old when he became king, and he reigned over Israel forty-two years.

lorsqu'il leva trois mille hommes en Israël, dont deux mille sous ses ordres à Mikhmach et sur la montagne de Béthel, et mille sous Jonathan à Ghibea-de-Benjamin; pour le reste des hommes, il les renvoya dans leurs foyers.

Escogióse luego tres mil de Israel: los dos mil estuvieron con Saúl en Michmas y en el monte de Beth-el, y los mil estuvieron con Jonathán en Gabaa de Benjamín; y envió á todo el otro pueblo cada uno á sus tiendas.

Saul chose him three thousand men of Israel; whereof two thousand were with Saul in Michmash and in mount Beth-el, and a thousand were with Jonathan in Gibeah of Benjamin: and the rest of the people he sent every man to his tent.

Saul chose for himself three thousand men of Israel, of which two thousand were with Saul in Michmash and in the Mount of Bethel, and one thousand were with Jonathan in Gibeah of Benjamin. He sent the rest of the people to their own tents.

Jonathan battit le poste de Philistins qui était à Ghéba, et les Philistins en furent informés. Saül le fit annoncer à son de cor dans tout le pays, se disant: "Il faut que les Hébreux le sachent."

Y Jonathán hirió la guarnición de los Filisteos que había en el collado, y oyéronlo los Filisteos. E hizo Saúl tocar trompetas por toda la tierra, diciendo: Oigan los Hebreos.

And Jonathan smote the garrison of the Philistines that was in Geba, and the Philistines heard of it. And Saul blew the trumpet throughout all the land, saying, Let the Hebrews hear.

Tout Israël apprit donc que Saül avait battu le poste des Philistins et qu'ainsi Israël s'était mis en état d'hostilité contre les Philistins; alors le peuple courut se ranger autour de Saül, à Ghilgal.

Y todo Israel oyó que se decía: Saúl ha herido la guarnición de los Filisteos; y también que Israel olía mal á los Filisteos. Y juntóse el pueblo en pos de Saúl en Gilgal.

And all Israel heard say that Saul had smitten a garrison of the Philistines, and that Israel also was had in abomination with the Philistines. And the people were called together after Saul to Gilgal.

Les Philistins, de leur côté, se rassemblèrent pour combattre Israël: avec trente mille chariots, six mille cavaliers, et une infanterie aussi nombreuse que le sable au bord de la mer, ils allèrent prendre position à Mikhmach, à l'orient de Beth-Avên.

Entonces los Filisteos se juntaron para pelear con Israel, treinta mil carros, y seis mil caballos, y pueblo como la arena que está á la orilla de la mar en multitud; y subieron, y asentaron campo en Michmas, al oriente de Beth-aven.

And the Philistines gathered themselves together to fight with Israel, thirty thousand chariots, and six thousand horsemen, and people as the sand which is on the sea shore in multitude: and they came up, and pitched in Michmash, eastward from Beth-aven.

Les Israélites, voyant leur position critique, car le peuple était serré de près, se refugièrent dans les cavernes, dans les buissons, dans les rochers, dans les donjons et les citernes;

Mas los hombres de Israel, viéndose puestos en estrecho, (porque el pueblo estaba en aprieto), escondióse el pueblo en cuevas, en fosos, en peñascos, en rocas y en cisternas.

When the men of Israel saw that they were in a strait, (for the people were distressed,) then the people did hide themselves in caves, and in thickets, and in rocks, and in high places, and in pits.

des Hébreux, passant le Jourdain, gagnèrent les pays de Gad et de Galaad. Cependant Saül tenait encore à Ghilgal, et le reste de l'armée le rejoignit en toute hâte.

Y algunos de los Hebreos pasaron el Jordán á la tierra de Gad y de Galaad: y Saúl se estaba aún en Gilgal, y todo el pueblo iba tras él temblando.

And some of the Hebrews went over Jordan to the land of Gad and Gilead. As for Saul, he was yet in Gilgal, and all the people followed him trembling.

On attendit sept jours, terme du rendez-vous donné par Samuel; mais celui-ci n'étant pas venu à Ghilgal, le peuple commença à se disperser.

Y él esperó siete días, conforme al plazo que Samuel había dicho; pero Samuel no venía á Gilgal, y el pueblo se le desertaba.

And he tarried seven days, according to the set time that Samuel had appointed: but Samuel came not to Gilgal; and the people were scattered from him.

Alors Saül dit: "Amenez-moi l'holocauste et le rémunératoire!" et il offrit l'holocauste.

Entonces dijo Saúl: Traedme holocausto y sacrificios pacíficos. Y ofreció el holocausto.

And Saul said, Bring hither a burnt offering to me, and peace offerings. And he offered the burnt offering.

Saul said, “Bring the burnt offering to me here, and the peace offerings.” He offered the burnt offering.

Comme il achevait ce sacrifice, voici que Samuel arriva; et Saül s'avança pour lui donner la bienvenue.

Y como él acababa de hacer el holocausto, he aquí Samuel que venía; y Saúl le salió á recibir para saludarle.

And it came to pass, that as soon as he had made an end of offering the burnt offering, behold, Samuel came; and Saul went out to meet him, that he might salute him.

"Qu'as-tu fait?" demanda Samuel. Saül répondit: "Voyant que mon armée se débandait, que tu n'étais pas venu au jour fixé, que les Philistins s'étaient concentrés à Mikhmach,

Entonces Samuel dijo: ¿Qué has hecho? Y Saúl respondió: Porque vi que el pueblo se me iba, y que tú no venías al plazo de los días, y que los Filisteos estaban juntos en Michmas,

And Samuel said, What hast thou done? And Saul said, Because I saw that the people were scattered from me, and that thou camest not within the days appointed, and that the Philistines gathered themselves together at Michmash;

Samuel said, “What have you done?” Saul said, “Because I saw that the people were scattered from me, and that you didn’t come within the days appointed, and that the Philistines assembled themselves together at Michmash,

je me suis dit: Les Philistins vont tomber sur moi à Ghilgal, et je n'ai pas encore imploré l'assistance du Seigneur… Alors j'ai pris sur moi d'offrir l'holocauste."

Me dije: Los Filisteos descenderán ahora contra mí á Gilgal, y yo no he implorado el favor de Jehová. Esforcéme pues, y ofrecí holocausto.

Therefore said I, The Philistines will come down now upon me to Gilgal, and I have not made supplication unto the LORD: I forced myself therefore, and offered a burnt offering.

therefore I said, ‘Now the Philistines will come down on me to Gilgal, and I haven’t entreated the favor of the LORD.’ I forced myself therefore, and offered the burnt offering.”

Samuel dit à Saül: "Tu as follement agi! Si tu avais gardé le commandement que t'a prescrit l'Eternel, ton Dieu, certes l'Eternel aurait maintenu à jamais ta royauté sur Israël.

Entonces Samuel dijo á Saúl: Locamente has hecho; no guardaste el mandamiento de Jehová tu Dios, que él te había intimado; porque ahora Jehová hubiera confirmado tu reino sobre Israel para siempre.

And Samuel said to Saul, Thou hast done foolishly: thou hast not kept the commandment of the LORD thy God, which he commanded thee: for now would the LORD have established thy kingdom upon Israel for ever.

Samuel said to Saul, “You have done foolishly. You have not kept the commandment of the LORD your God, which he commanded you; for now the LORD would have established your kingdom on Israel forever.

Et maintenant, ta royauté ne subsistera point; l'Eternel s'est choisi un homme selon son cœur et l'a institué chef de son peuple, parce que tu n'as pas respecté son commandement!"

Mas ahora tu reino no será durable: Jehová se ha buscado varón según su corazón, al cual Jehová ha mandado que sea capitán sobre su pueblo, por cuanto tú no has guardado lo que Jehová te mandó.

But now thy kingdom shall not continue: the LORD hath sought him a man after his own heart, and the LORD hath commanded him to be captain over his people, because thou hast not kept that which the LORD commanded thee.

But now your kingdom will not continue. The LORD has sought for himself a man after his own heart, and the LORD has appointed him to be prince over his people, because you have not kept that which the LORD commanded you.”

Et Samuel se retira, et se rendit de Ghilgal à Ghibea-de-Benjamin. Saül compta la troupe dont il disposait encore: Il y avait environ six cents hommes.

Y levantándose Samuel, subió de Gilgal á Gabaa de Benjamín. Y Saúl contó la gente que se hallaba con él, como seiscientos hombres.

And Samuel arose, and gat him up from Gilgal unto Gibeah of Benjamin. And Saul numbered the people that were present with him, about six hundred men.

Saül vint s'établir à Ghibea-de-Benjamin avec son fils Jonathan et l'armée qui était sous leurs ordres, tandis que les Philistins étaient campés à Mikhmach.

Saúl pues y Jonathán su hijo, y el pueblo que con ellos se hallaba, quedáronse en Gabaa de Benjamín: mas los Filisteos habían puesto su campo en Michmas.

And Saul, and Jonathan his son, and the people that were present with them, abode in Gibeah of Benjamin: but the Philistines encamped in Michmash.

Une armée d'invasion sortit du camp des Philistins en trois bandes, dont la première devait agir dans la direction d'Ofra, au pays de Choual;

Y salieron del campo de los Filisteos en correría tres escuadrones. El un escuadrón tiró por el camino de Ophra hacia la tierra de Sual.

And the spoilers came out of the camp of the Philistines in three companies: one company turned unto the way that leadeth to Ophrah, unto the land of Shual:

la seconde, dans la direction de Bethorôn; et la troisième, du côté de la frontière qui domine la vallée des Ceboïm, vers le désert.

El otro escuadrón marchó hacia Beth-oron, y el tercer escuadrón marchó hacia la región que mira al valle de Seboim hacia el desierto.

And another company turned the way to Beth-horon: and another company turned to the way of the border that looketh to the valley of Zeboim toward the wilderness.

Or, on ne trouvait pas un forgeron dans tout le pays d'Israël, parce que les Philistins craignaient que les Hébreux ne fabriquassent des épées ou des javelots.

Y en toda la tierra de Israel no se hallaba herrero; porque los Filisteos habían dicho: Para que los Hebreos no hagan espada ó lanza.

Now there was no smith found throughout all the land of Israel: for the Philistines said, Lest the Hebrews make them swords or spears:

Chaque Israélite devait donc aller chez les Philistins, pour faire affiler son soc, son hoyau, sa cognée ou sa faux;

Y todos los de Israel descendían á los Filisteos cada cual á amolar su reja, su azadón, su hacha, ó su sacho,

But all the Israelites went down to the Philistines, to sharpen every man his share, and his coulter, and his axe, and his mattock.

ou bien on se servait de la lime pour les instruments aratoires, pour les hoyaux, les fourches, les cognées, et pour mettre en état les aiguillons.

Y cuando se hacían bocas en las rejas, ó en los azadones, ó en las horquillas, ó en las hachas; hasta para una ahijada que se hubiera de componer.

Yet they had a file for the mattocks, and for the coulters, and for the forks, and for the axes, and to sharpen the goads.

The price was one payim each to sharpen mattocks, plowshares, pitchforks, axes, and goads.

De sorte que, le jour du combat, nul n'avait ni épée ni javelot dans toute l'armée de Saül et de Jonathan, si ce n'est Saül lui-même et Jonathan son fils.

Así aconteció que el día de la batalla no se halló espada ni lanza en mano de alguno de todo el pueblo que estaba con Saúl y con Jonathán, excepto Saúl y Jonathán su hijo, que las tenían.

So it came to pass in the day of battle, that there was neither sword nor spear found in the hand of any of the people that were with Saul and Jonathan: but with Saul and with Jonathan his son was there found.

Un avant-poste des Philistins s'avança jusqu'au défilé de Mikhmach.
