1Saul aber redete mit seinem Sohn Jonathan und mit allen seinen Knechten, daß sie David sollten töten. Aber Jonathan, Sauls Sohn, hatte David sehr lieb
2und verkündigte es ihm und sprach: Mein Vater Saul trachtet darnach, daß er dich töte. Nun, so bewahre dich morgen und bleib verborgen und verstecke dich.
3Ich will aber herausgehen und neben meinem Vater stehen auf dem Felde, da du bist, und von dir mit meinem Vater reden; und was ich sehe, will ich dir kundtun.
4Und Jonathan redete das Beste von David mit seinem Vater Saul und sprach zu ihm: Es versündige sich der König nicht an seinem Knecht David; denn er hat keine Sünde wider dich getan, und sein Tun ist dir sehr nütze,
5und er hat sein Leben in seine Hand gesetzt und schlug den Philister, und der HERR tat ein großes Heil dem ganzen Israel. Das hast du gesehen und dich des gefreut. Warum willst du dich denn an unschuldigem Blut versündigen, daß du David ohne Ursache tötest?
6Da gehorchte Saul der Stimme Jonathans und schwur: So wahr der HERR lebt, er soll nicht sterben!
7Da rief Jonathan David und sagte ihm alle diese Worte und brachte ihn zu Saul, daß er zu ihm war wie zuvor.
8Es erhob sich aber wieder ein Streit, und David zog aus und stritt wider die Philister und tat eine große Schlacht, daß sie vor ihm flohen.
9Aber der böse Geist vom HERRN kam über Saul, und er saß in seinem Hause und hatte einen Spieß in seiner Hand; David aber spielte auf den Saiten mit der Hand.
10Und Saul trachtete, David mit dem Spieß an die Wand zu spießen. Er aber riß sich von Saul, und der Spieß fuhr in die Wand. David aber floh und entrann dieselbe Nacht.
11Saul sandte aber Boten zu Davids Haus, daß sie ihn verwahrten und töteten am Morgen. Das verkündigte dem David sein Weib Michal und sprach: Wirst du nicht diese Nacht deine Seele erretten, so mußt du morgen sterben.
12Da ließ ihn Michal durchs Fenster hernieder, daß er hinging, entfloh und entrann.
13Und Michal nahm ein Götzenbild und legte es ins Bett und legte ein Ziegenfell zu seinen Häupten und deckte es mit Kleidern zu.
14Da sandte Saul Boten, daß sie David holten. Sie aber sprach: Er ist krank.
15Saul aber sandte Boten, nach David zu sehen, und sprach: Bringt ihn herauf zu mir mit dem Bett, daß er getötet werde!
16Da nun die Boten kamen, siehe, da lag das Bild im Bett und ein Ziegenfell zu seinen Häupten.
17Da sprach Saul zu Michal: Warum hast du mich betrogen und meinen Feind gelassen, daß er entrönne? Michal sprach zu Saul: Er sprach zu mir: Laß mich gehen, oder ich töte dich!
18David aber entfloh und entrann und kam zu Samuel nach Rama und sagte ihm an alles, was ihm Saul getan hatte. Und er ging hin mit Samuel, und sie blieben zu Najoth.
19Und es ward Saul angesagt: Siehe, David ist zu Najoth in Rama.
20Da sandte Saul Boten, daß sie David holten; und sie sahen den Chor der Propheten weissagen, und Samuel war ihr Vorsteher. Da kam der Geist Gottes auf die Boten Sauls, daß auch sie weissagten.
21Da das Saul ward angesagt, sandte er andere Boten; die weissagten auch. Da sandte er die dritten Boten; die weissagten auch.
22Da ging er selbst auch gen Rama. Und da er kam zum großen Brunnen, der zu Seku ist, fragte er und sprach: Wo ist Samuel und David? Da ward ihm gesagt: Siehe, zu Najoth in Rama.
23Und er ging dahin gen Najoth in Rama. Und der Geist Gottes kam auch auf ihn, und er ging einher und weissagte, bis er kam gen Najoth in Rama.
24Und er zog auch seine Kleider aus und weissagte auch vor Samuel und fiel bloß nieder den ganzen Tag und die ganze Nacht. Daher spricht man: Ist Saul auch unter den Propheten?

1Y HABLÓ Saúl á Jonathán su hijo, y á todos sus criados, para que matasen á David; mas Jonathán hijo de Saúl amaba á David en gran manera.
2Y dió aviso á David, diciendo: Saúl mi padre procura matarte; por tanto mira ahora por ti hasta la mañana, y estáte en paraje oculto, y escóndete:
3Y yo saldré y estaré junto á mi padre en el campo donde estuvieres: y hablaré de ti á mi padre, y te haré saber lo que notare.
4Y Jonathán habló bien de David á Saúl su padre, y díjole: No peque el rey contra su siervo David, pues que ninguna cosa ha cometido contra ti: antes sus obras te han sido muy buenas;
5Porque él puso su alma en su palma, é hirió al Filisteo, y Jehová hizo una gran salud á todo Israel. Tú lo viste, y te holgaste: ¿por qué pues pecarás contra la sangre inocente, matando á David sin causa?
6Y oyendo Saúl la voz de Jonathán, juró: Vive Jehová, que no morirá.
7Llamando entonces Jonathán á David, declaróle todas estas palabras; y él mismo presentó á David á Saúl, y estuvo delante de él como antes.
8Y tornó á hacerse guerra: y salió David y peleó contra los Filisteos, é hiriólos con grande estrago, y huyeron delante de él.
9Y el espíritu malo de parte de Jehová fué sobre Saúl: y estando sentado en su casa tenía una lanza á mano, mientras David estaba tañendo con su mano.
10Y Saúl procuró enclavar á David con la lanza en la pared; mas él se apartó de delante de Saúl, el cual hirió con la lanza en la pared; y David huyó, y escapóse aquella noche.
11Saúl envió luego mensajeros á casa de David para que lo guardasen, y lo matasen á la mañana. Mas Michâl su mujer lo descubrió á David, diciendo: Si no salvares tu vida esta noche, mañana serás muerto.
12Y descolgó Michâl á David por una ventana; y él se fué, y huyó, y escapóse.
13Tomó luego Michâl una estatua, y púsola sobre la cama, y acomodóle por cabecera una almohada de pelos de cabra, y cubrióla con una ropa.
14Y cuando Saúl envió mensajeros que tomasen á David, ella respondió: Está enfermo.
15Y tornó Saúl á enviar mensajeros para que viesen á David, diciendo: Traédmelo en la cama para que lo mate.
16Y como los mensajeros entraron, he aquí la estatua estaba en la cama, y una almohada de pelos de cabra por cabecera.
17Entonces Saúl dijo á Michâl: ¿Por qué me has así engañado, y has dejado escapar á mi enemigo? Y Michâl respondió á Saúl: Porque él me dijo: Déjame ir; si no, yo te mataré.
18Huyó pues David, y escapóse, y vino á Samuel en Rama, y díjole todo lo que Saúl había hecho con él. Y fuéronse él y Samuel, y moraron en Najoth.
19Y fué dado aviso á Saúl, diciendo: He aquí que David está en Najoth en Rama.
20Y envió Saúl mensajeros que trajesen á David, los cuales vieron una compañía de profetas que profetizaban, y á Samuel que estaba allí, y los presidía. Y fué el espíritu de Dios sobre los mensajeros de Saúl, y ellos también profetizaron.
21Y hecho que fué saber á Saúl, él envió otros mensajeros, los cuales también profetizaron. Y Saúl volvió á enviar por tercera vez mensajeros, y ellos también profetizaron.
22Entonces él mismo vino á Rama; y llegando al pozo grande que está en Sochô, preguntó diciendo: ¿Dónde están Samuel y David? Y fuéle respondido: He aquí están en Najoth en Rama.
23Y fué allá á Najoth en Rama; y también vino sobre él el espíritu de Dios, é iba profetizando, hasta que llegó á Najoth en Rama.
24Y él también se desnudó sus vestidos, y profetizó igualmente delante de Samuel, y cayó desnudo todo aquel día y toda aquella noche. De aquí se dijo: ¿También Saúl entre los profetas?

1And Saul spake to Jonathan his son, and to all his servants, that they should kill David.
2But Jonathan Saul’s son delighted much in David: and Jonathan told David, saying, Saul my father seeketh to kill thee: now therefore, I pray thee, take heed to thyself until the morning, and abide in a secret place, and hide thyself:
3And I will go out and stand beside my father in the field where thou art, and I will commune with my father of thee; and what I see, that I will tell thee.
4And Jonathan spake good of David unto Saul his father, and said unto him, Let not the king sin against his servant, against David; because he hath not sinned against thee, and because his works have been to thee-ward very good:
5For he did put his life in his hand, and slew the Philistine, and the LORD wrought a great salvation for all Israel: thou sawest it, and didst rejoice: wherefore then wilt thou sin against innocent blood, to slay David without a cause?
6And Saul hearkened unto the voice of Jonathan: and Saul sware, As the LORD liveth, he shall not be slain.
7And Jonathan called David, and Jonathan shewed him all those things. And Jonathan brought David to Saul, and he was in his presence, as in times past.
8And there was war again: and David went out, and fought with the Philistines, and slew them with a great slaughter; and they fled from him.
9And the evil spirit from the LORD was upon Saul, as he sat in his house with his javelin in his hand: and David played with his hand.
10And Saul sought to smite David even to the wall with the javelin; but he slipped away out of Saul’s presence, and he smote the javelin into the wall: and David fled, and escaped that night.
11Saul also sent messengers unto David’s house, to watch him, and to slay him in the morning: and Michal David’s wife told him, saying, If thou save not thy life to night, to morrow thou shalt be slain.
12So Michal let David down through a window: and he went, and fled, and escaped.
13And Michal took an image, and laid it in the bed, and put a pillow of goats’ hair for his bolster, and covered it with a cloth.
14And when Saul sent messengers to take David, she said, He is sick.
15And Saul sent the messengers again to see David, saying, Bring him up to me in the bed, that I may slay him.
16And when the messengers were come in, behold, there was an image in the bed, with a pillow of goats’ hair for his bolster.
17And Saul said unto Michal, Why hast thou deceived me so, and sent away mine enemy, that he is escaped? And Michal answered Saul, He said unto me, Let me go; why should I kill thee?
18So David fled, and escaped, and came to Samuel to Ramah, and told him all that Saul had done to him. And he and Samuel went and dwelt in Naioth.
19And it was told Saul, saying, Behold, David is at Naioth in Ramah.
20And Saul sent messengers to take David: and when they saw the company of the prophets prophesying, and Samuel standing as appointed over them, the Spirit of God was upon the messengers of Saul, and they also prophesied.
21And when it was told Saul, he sent other messengers, and they prophesied likewise. And Saul sent messengers again the third time, and they prophesied also.
22Then went he also to Ramah, and came to a great well that is in Sechu: and he asked and said, Where are Samuel and David? And one said, Behold, they be at Naioth in Ramah.
23And he went thither to Naioth in Ramah: and the Spirit of God was upon him also, and he went on, and prophesied, until he came to Naioth in Ramah.
24And he stripped off his clothes also, and prophesied before Samuel in like manner, and lay down naked all that day and all that night. Wherefore they say, Is Saul also among the prophets?
World English Bible
1Saul spoke to Jonathan his son and to all his servants, that they should kill David. But Jonathan, Saul’s son, greatly delighted in David.
2Jonathan told David, saying, “Saul my father seeks to kill you. Now therefore, please take care of yourself in the morning, live in a secret place, and hide yourself.
3I will go out and stand beside my father in the field where you are, and I will talk with my father about you; and if I see anything, I will tell you.”
4Jonathan spoke good of David to Saul his father, and said to him, “Don’t let the king sin against his servant, against David; because he has not sinned against you, and because his works have been very good toward you;
5for he put his life in his hand and struck the Philistine, and the LORD worked a great victory for all Israel. You saw it and rejoiced. Why then will you sin against innocent blood, to kill David without a cause?”
6Saul listened to the voice of Jonathan; and Saul swore, “As the LORD lives, he shall not be put to death.”
7Jonathan called David, and Jonathan showed him all those things. Then Jonathan brought David to Saul, and he was in his presence as before.
8There was war again. David went out and fought with the Philistines, and killed them with a great slaughter; and they fled before him.
9An evil spirit from the LORD was on Saul as he sat in his house with his spear in his hand; and David was playing music with his hand.
10Saul sought to pin David to the wall with the spear, but he slipped away out of Saul’s presence; and he stuck the spear into the wall. David fled and escaped that night.
11Saul sent messengers to David’s house to watch him and to kill him in the morning. Michal, David’s wife, told him, saying, “If you don’t save your life tonight, tomorrow you will be killed.”
12So Michal let David down through the window. He went away, fled, and escaped.
13Michal took the teraphim and laid it in the bed, and put a pillow of goats’ hair at its head and covered it with clothes.
14When Saul sent messengers to take David, she said, “He is sick.”
15Saul sent the messengers to see David, saying, “Bring him up to me in the bed, that I may kill him.”
16When the messengers came in, behold, the teraphim was in the bed, with the pillow of goats’ hair at its head.
17Saul said to Michal, “Why have you deceived me like this and let my enemy go, so that he has escaped?” Michal answered Saul, “He said to me, ‘Let me go! Why should I kill you?’”
18Now David fled and escaped, and came to Samuel at Ramah, and told him all that Saul had done to him. He and Samuel went and lived in Naioth.
19Saul was told, saying, “Behold, David is at Naioth in Ramah.”
20Saul sent messengers to seize David; and when they saw the company of the prophets prophesying, and Samuel standing as head over them, God’s Spirit came on Saul’s messengers, and they also prophesied.
21When Saul was told, he sent other messengers, and they also prophesied. Saul sent messengers again the third time, and they also prophesied.
