Therefore David enquired of the LORD, saying, Shall I go and smite these Philistines? And the LORD said unto David, Go, and smite the Philistines, and save Keilah.

Mas los que estaban con David le dijeron: He aquí que nosotros aquí en Judá estamos con miedo; ¿cuánto más si fuéremos á Keila contra el ejército de los Filisteos?
And David’s men said unto him, Behold, we be afraid here in Judah: how much more then if we come to Keilah against the armies of the Philistines?

Da befragte David den HERRN noch einmal und erhielt vom HERRN die Antwort: »Mache dich auf und ziehe nach Kegila hinab! Denn ich werde die Philister in deine Hand geben.«
Entonces David volvió á consultar á Jehová. Y Jehová le respondió, y dijo: Levántate, desciende á Keila, que yo entregaré en tus manos á los Filisteos.

Als nun Saul erfuhr, daß David nach Kegila gezogen sei, rief er aus: »Gott hat ihn mir in die Hände geliefert! Denn er hat sich selbst eingeschlossen, indem er sich in eine Stadt mit Toren und Riegeln begeben hat.«
Y fué dicho á Saúl que David había venido á Keila. Entonces dijo Saúl: Dios lo ha traído á mis manos; porque él está encerrado, habiéndose metido en ciudad con puertas y cerraduras.

Dann betete David: »HERR, Gott Israels! Dein Knecht hat als gewiß gehört, daß Saul nach Kegila zu ziehen gedenkt, um die Stadt um meinetwillen zu vernichten.
Y dijo David: Jehová Dios de Israel, tu siervo tiene entendido que Saúl trata de venir contra Keila, á destruir la ciudad por causa mía.
Then said David, O LORD God of Israel, thy servant hath certainly heard that Saul seeketh to come to Keilah, to destroy the city for my sake.

Werden die Bürger von Kegila mich ihm ausliefern? Wird Saul wirklich herabkommen, wie dein Knecht vernommen hat? HERR, Gott Israels, tu das doch deinem Knechte kund!« Da antwortete der HERR: »Ja, er wird herabkommen.«
¿Me entregarán los vecinos de Keila en sus manos? ¿descenderá Saúl, como tu siervo tiene oído? Jehová Dios de Israel, ruégote que lo declares á tu siervo. Y Jehová dijo: Sí, descenderá.

Dann fragte David weiter: »Werden die Bürger von Kegila mich und meine Leute an Saul ausliefern?« Der HERR antwortete: »Ja, sie werden dich ausliefern.«
Dijo luego David: ¿Me entregarán los vecinos de Keila á mí y á mis hombres en manos de Saúl? Y Jehová respondió: Te entregarán.
Then said David, Will the men of Keilah deliver me and my men into the hand of Saul? And the LORD said, They will deliver thee up.

Da machte sich David mit seinen Leuten, etwa sechshundert Mann, auf und zog aus Kegila ab, und sie streiften aufs Geratewohl umher. Als dann dem Saul gemeldet wurde, David sei aus Kegila entronnen, stand er vom Zug dorthin ab.
David entonces se levantó con sus hombres, que eran como seiscientos, y saliéronse de Keila, y fuéronse de una parte á otra. Y vino la nueva á Saúl de como David se había escapado de Keila; y dejó de salir.

Dann schlossen beide einen Bund miteinander vor dem HERRN; und David blieb in Horesa, während Jonathan wieder heimkehrte.

Hierauf gingen einige Siphiter zu Saul nach Gibea hinauf und meldeten: »David hält sich bei uns auf den Berghöhen in Horesa verborgen, auf dem Höhenzuge Hachila, der südlich von der Öde liegt.
Y subieron los de Ziph á decir á Saúl en Gabaa: ¿No está David escondido en nuestra tierra en las peñas del bosque, en el collado de Hachîla que está á la mano derecha del desierto?
Then came up the Ziphites to Saul to Gibeah, saying, Doth not David hide himself with us in strong holds in the wood, in the hill of Hachilah, which is on the south of Jeshimon?

Nun denn, o König, komm zu uns herab, sobald es dir beliebt; unsere Sache soll es alsdann sein, ihn in die Gewalt des Königs zu bringen.«

Da antwortete Saul: »Der HERR möge euch dafür segnen, daß ihr Teilnahme für mich bewiesen habt!

Geht nun hin, vergewissert euch noch mehr und gebt sorgsam acht, um seinen Aufenthaltsort zu erkunden und wer ihn daselbst gesehen hat; denn man hat mir gesagt, er sei ein sehr listiger Mann.
Id pues ahora, apercibid aún, considerad y ved su lugar donde tiene el pie, y quién lo haya visto allí; porque se me ha dicho que él es en gran manera astuto.
Go, I pray you, prepare yet, and know and see his place where his haunt is, and who hath seen him there: for it is told me that he dealeth very subtilly.

Da machten sich die Siphiter auf und gingen Saul voraus nach Siph; David aber befand sich damals mit seinen Leuten in der Wüste Maon, in der Steppe südlich von der Einöde.

Da zog nun Saul auf der einen Seite des Bergzuges und David mit seinen Leuten auf der anderen Seite. Als dann David sich beeilte, dem Saul zu entkommen, war Saul mit seinen Leuten gerade im Begriff, David und seine Leute zu umzingeln, um sie gefangenzunehmen.

Da traf plötzlich ein Bote bei Saul ein mit der Meldung: »Mache dich schleunigst auf den Weg! Denn die Philister sind ins Land eingefallen.«
Entonces vino un mensajero á Saúl, diciendo: Ven luego, porque los Filisteos han hecho una irrupción en el país.
But there came a messenger unto Saul, saying, Haste thee, and come; for the Philistines have invaded the land.

Da mußte Saul die Verfolgung Davids aufgeben und den Philistern entgegenziehen; daher nennt man jenen Ort den ›Trennungsfelsen‹.
Volvióse por tanto Saúl de perseguir á David, y partió contra los Filisteos. Por esta causa pusieron á aquel lugar por nombre Sela-hammah-lecoth.
