Y DIERON aviso á David, diciendo: He aquí que los Filisteos combaten á Keila, y roban las eras.
Then they told David, saying, Behold, the Philistines fight against Keilah, and they rob the threshingfloors.

Después de esto avisaron a David, diciendo: Mira que los filisteos están sitiando a Ceila, y saquean las eras o mieses del país.
Y David consultó á Jehová, diciendo: ¿Iré á herir á estos Filisteos? Y Jehová respondió á David: Ve, hiere á los Filisteos, y libra á Keila.
Therefore David enquired of the LORD, saying, Shall I go and smite these Philistines? And the LORD said unto David, Go, and smite the Philistines, and save Keilah.
Therefore David inquired of the LORD, saying, “Shall I go and strike these Philistines?” The LORD said to David, “Go strike the Philistines, and save Keilah.”
Consultó, pues, David al Señor, diciendo: ¿Iré, y podré yo vencer a los filisteos? Le respondió el Señor: Anda, que derrotarás a los filisteos, y librarás a Ceila.
Mas los que estaban con David le dijeron: He aquí que nosotros aquí en Judá estamos con miedo; ¿cuánto más si fuéremos á Keila contra el ejército de los Filisteos?
And David’s men said unto him, Behold, we be afraid here in Judah: how much more then if we come to Keilah against the armies of the Philistines?

Pero las gentes que tenía David consigo, le dijeron: Ya ves que nosotros aun aquí en medio de la Judea no estamos sin miedo; ¿cuánto más si fuéremos a Ceila contra los batallones de los filisteos?
Entonces David volvió á consultar á Jehová. Y Jehová le respondió, y dijo: Levántate, desciende á Keila, que yo entregaré en tus manos á los Filisteos.

Consultó nuevamente David al Señor. El cual le respondió, diciendo: Marcha y ve a Ceila que yo entregaré en tus manos a los filisteos.
Partióse pues David con sus hombres á Keila, y peleó contra los Filisteos, y trajo antecogidos sus ganados, é hiriólos con grande estrago: y libró David á los de Keila.

And it was told Saul that David was come to Keilah. And Saul said, God hath delivered him into mine hand; for he is shut in, by entering into a town that hath gates and bars.

Luego que tuvo Saúl aviso de la llegada de David a Ceila, dijo: Dios me lo ha puesto en las manos, cogido está, habiéndose metido en una ciudad que tiene puertas y cerraduras.
Y convocó Saúl todo el pueblo á la batalla, para descender á Keila, y poner cerco á David y á los suyos.

Con eso Saúl mandó a toda su tropa que saliese disimuladamente a campaña contra Ceila para cercar a David y a su gente.
Mas entendiendo David que Saúl ideaba el mal contra él, dijo á Abiathar sacerdote: Trae el ephod.
And David knew that Saul secretly practised mischief against him; and he said to Abiathar the priest, Bring hither the ephod.

Y advertido David de que Saúl trazaba secretamente su ruina, dijo al sacerdote Abiatar: Ponte el efod para consultar al Señor.
Y dijo David: Jehová Dios de Israel, tu siervo tiene entendido que Saúl trata de venir contra Keila, á destruir la ciudad por causa mía.
Then said David, O LORD God of Israel, thy servant hath certainly heard that Saul seeketh to come to Keilah, to destroy the city for my sake.
Then David said, “O LORD, the God of Israel, your servant has surely heard that Saul seeks to come to Keilah to destroy the city for my sake.
Y en seguida dijo David: Señor Dios de Israel, tu siervo ha oído decir que Saúl se prepara para venir a Ceila, y destruirla por mi causa.
¿Me entregarán los vecinos de Keila en sus manos? ¿descenderá Saúl, como tu siervo tiene oído? Jehová Dios de Israel, ruégote que lo declares á tu siervo. Y Jehová dijo: Sí, descenderá.
Will the men of Keilah deliver me up into his hand? will Saul come down, as thy servant hath heard? O LORD God of Israel, I beseech thee, tell thy servant. And the LORD said, He will come down.

¿Me entregarán los ciudadanos de Ceila en manos de Súl? ¿Vendrá en efecto Saúl, como ha oído decir tu siervo? Señor Dios de Israel, manifiéstaselo a este siervo tuyo. Y respondió el Señor: Sí, vendrá.
Dijo luego David: ¿Me entregarán los vecinos de Keila á mí y á mis hombres en manos de Saúl? Y Jehová respondió: Te entregarán.
Then said David, Will the men of Keilah deliver me and my men into the hand of Saul? And the LORD said, They will deliver thee up.
Then David said, “Will the men of Keilah deliver me and my men into the hand of Saul?” The LORD said, “They will deliver you up.”
Dijo todavía David: ¿Los de Ceila me entregarán a mí y a toda mi gente en manos de Saúl? Y respondió el Señor: Os entregarán.
David entonces se levantó con sus hombres, que eran como seiscientos, y saliéronse de Keila, y fuéronse de una parte á otra. Y vino la nueva á Saúl de como David se había escapado de Keila; y dejó de salir.
Then David and his men, which were about six hundred, arose and departed out of Keilah, and went whithersoever they could go. And it was told Saul that David was escaped from Keilah; and he forbare to go forth.

Por lo que dispuso David marcharse de allí con toda su gente, que eran como unos seiscientos hombres; y saliendo de Ceila, andaban de una a otra parte sin asiento fijo. Tuvo Saúl aviso de que había huido David de Ceila, se había puesto a salvo; por lo cual aparentó no querer moverse.
Y David se estaba en el desierto en peñas, y habitaba en un monte en el desierto de Ziph; y buscábalo Saúl todos los días, mas Dios no lo entregó en sus manos.
And David abode in the wilderness in strong holds, and remained in a mountain in the wilderness of Ziph. And Saul sought him every day, but God delivered him not into his hand.

Entretanto estaba David en el desierto en lugares muy fuertes, y se fijó en el monte del desierto de Zif, monte muy espeso. Saúl entretanto no cesaba de buscarlo; mas el Señor siempre lo libertó de sus manos.
Viendo pues David que Saúl había salido en busca de su alma, estábase él en el bosque en el desierto de Ziph.
And David saw that Saul was come out to seek his life: and David was in the wilderness of Ziph in a wood.

Y supo David que Saúl había salido para quitarle la vida; por lo que se mantuvo en el desierto de Zif, escondido en el bosque.
Entonces se levantó Jonathán hijo de Saúl, y vino á David en el bosque, y confortó su mano en Dios.
And Jonathan Saul’s son arose, and went to David into the wood, and strengthened his hand in God.

En ese tiempo Jonatás, hijo de Saúl, se puso en camino, y fue allí a encontrarle; y le confortó recordándole las promesas de Dios, y diciéndole:
Y díjole: No temas, que no te hallará la mano de Saúl mi padre, y tú reinarás sobre Israel, y yo seré segundo después de ti; y aun Saúl mi padre así lo sabe.
And he said unto him, Fear not: for the hand of Saul my father shall not find thee; and thou shalt be king over Israel, and I shall be next unto thee; and that also Saul my father knoweth.
He said to him, “Don’t be afraid, for the hand of Saul my father won’t find you; and you will be king over Israel, and I will be next to you; and Saul my father knows that also.”
No temas; porque Saúl mi padre por más que haga no podrá cogerte. Tú serás rey de Israel y yo seré el segundo en tu reino, y aun mi mismo padre está persuadido de esto.
Y entrambos hicieron alianza delante de Jehová: y David se quedó en el bosque, y Jonathán se volvió á su casa.
And they two made a covenant before the LORD: and David abode in the wood, and Jonathan went to his house.

Renovaron entonces los dos su alianza en presencia del Señor; y David se quedó en el bosque, pero Jonatás volvió a su casa.
Y subieron los de Ziph á decir á Saúl en Gabaa: ¿No está David escondido en nuestra tierra en las peñas del bosque, en el collado de Hachîla que está á la mano derecha del desierto?
Then came up the Ziphites to Saul to Gibeah, saying, Doth not David hide himself with us in strong holds in the wood, in the hill of Hachilah, which is on the south of Jeshimon?
Then the Ziphites came up to Saul to Gibeah, saying, “Doesn’t David hide himself with us in the strongholds in the woods, in the hill of Hachilah, which is on the south of the desert?
Mas los zifeos fueron a encontrar a Saúl en Gabaa, y le dijeron: ¿No sabes que David está escondido entre nosotros en los parajes más fuertes del bosque, hacia el cerro de Haquila, que cae a mano derecha del desierto.
Por tanto, rey, desciende ahora presto, según todo el deseo de tu alma, y nosotros lo entregaremos en la mano del rey.
Now therefore, O king, come down according to all the desire of thy soul to come down; and our part shall be to deliver him into the king’s hand.

Ahora, pues, si deseas dar con él, no tienes más que venir, que corre de nuestra cuenta el entregarlo en tus manos.
Y Saúl dijo: Benditos seáis vosotros de Jehová, que habéis tenido compasión de mí:

A lo que respondió Saúl: Bendito seáis vosotros del Señor, pues os habéis condolido de mi suerte.
Id pues ahora, apercibid aún, considerad y ved su lugar donde tiene el pie, y quién lo haya visto allí; porque se me ha dicho que él es en gran manera astuto.
Go, I pray you, prepare yet, and know and see his place where his haunt is, and who hath seen him there: for it is told me that he dealeth very subtilly.

Id, pues, y practicad todas las diligencias posibles, informándoos mañosamente hasta aseguraros bien del sitio donde tiene su asiento ordinario, o quien lo haya visto allí; porque él recela de mí, y sabe que ando armándole asechanzas.

Registrad y ved todos los escondrijos donde se oculta, y volved a mí, bien averiguada la cosa, para ir con vosotros a golpe seguro. Pues aunque se meta en las entrañas de la tierra, yo iré allí con todos los batallones de Judá, y lo sacaré.
Y ellos se levantaron, y se fueron á Ziph delante de Saúl. Mas David y su gente estaban en el desierto de Maón, en la llanura que está á la diestra del desierto.
And they arose, and went to Ziph before Saul: but David and his men were in the wilderness of Maon, in the plain on the south of Jeshimon.

Y partióse Saúl con su gente á buscarlo; pero fué dado aviso á David, y descendió á la peña, y quedóse en el desierto de Maón. Lo cual como Saúl oyó, siguió á David al desierto de Maón.

Iba Saúl por un lado del monte, y David con los suyos por el otro, y ya no tenía esperanza de poder escapar de las manos de Saúl; pues éste con su gente tenía encerrado a David y a los suyos, como en un círculo, para cogerlos en medio.
Y Saúl iba por el un lado del monte, y David con los suyos por el otro lado del monte: y dábase priesa David para ir delante de Saúl; mas Saúl y los suyos habían encerrado á David y á su gente para tomarlos.
And Saul went on this side of the mountain, and David and his men on that side of the mountain: and David made haste to get away for fear of Saul; for Saul and his men compassed David and his men round about to take them.

Cuando he aquí que llegó un mensajero a Saúl diciendo: Ven a toda prisa, que los filisteos han hecho una irrupción en el país.
Entonces vino un mensajero á Saúl, diciendo: Ven luego, porque los Filisteos han hecho una irrupción en el país.
But there came a messenger unto Saul, saying, Haste thee, and come; for the Philistines have invaded the land.
But a messenger came to Saul, saying, “Hurry and come, for the Philistines have made a raid on the land!”
Con esta nueva, desistiendo Saúl de perseguir a David, se volvió y marchó contra los filisteos. Por donde llamaron a aquel sitio la Peña de Separación.
Volvióse por tanto Saúl de perseguir á David, y partió contra los Filisteos. Por esta causa pusieron á aquel lugar por nombre Sela-hammah-lecoth.
Wherefore Saul returned from pursuing after David, and went against the Philistines: therefore they called that place Sela-hammahlekoth.

No obstante, se retiró David de allí, y fue a vivir en los lugares más fuertes de Engaddi.
