Tomó sus seiscientos hombres con sus familias y se fueron a vivir a Gat, bajo la protección del rey Aquis. Llevó consigo a sus dos esposas, a Ajinoán de Jezrel y a Abigail del Carmelo, la viuda de Nabal.

Levantóse pues David, y con los seiscientos hombres que tenía consigo pasóse á Achîs hijo de Maoch, rey de Gath.

And David arose, and he passed over with the six hundred men that were with him unto Achish, the son of Maoch, king of Gath.

David arose and passed over, he and the six hundred men who were with him, to Achish the son of Maoch, king of Gath.
