Mas David dijo en su corazón: Al fin algún día vendré a caer en manos de Saúl. ¿No me vale más huir y ponerme a salvo en tierra de los filisteos, para que Saúl pierda las esperanzas y cese de andarme buscando por todo el país de Israel? Huiré, pues, de sus dominios.
Y DIJO David en su corazón: Al fin seré muerto algún día por la mano de Saúl: nada por tanto me será mejor que fugarme á la tierra de los Filisteos, para que Saúl se deje de mí, y no me ande buscando más por todos los términos de Israel, y así me escaparé de sus manos.
And David said in his heart, I shall now perish one day by the hand of Saul: there is nothing better for me than that I should speedily escape into the land of the Philistines; and Saul shall despair of me, to seek me any more in any coast of Israel: so shall I escape out of his hand.
David said in his heart, “I will now perish one day by the hand of Saul. There is nothing better for me than that I should escape into the land of the Philistines; and Saul will despair of me, to seek me any more in all the borders of Israel. So I will escape out of his hand.”
Y así David partió con sus seiscientos hombres, y se fue a Aquis, rey de Get, hijo de Maoc.
Levantóse pues David, y con los seiscientos hombres que tenía consigo pasóse á Achîs hijo de Maoch, rey de Gath.
And David arose, and he passed over with the six hundred men that were with him unto Achish, the son of Maoch, king of Gath.

And David dwelt with Achish at Gath, he and his men, every man with his household, even David with his two wives, Ahinoam the Jezreelitess, and Abigail the Carmelitess, Nabal’s wife.

Y David dijo á Achîs: Si he hallado ahora gracia en tus ojos, séame dado lugar en algunas de las ciudades de la tierra, donde habite: porque ¿ha de morar tu siervo contigo en la ciudad real?
And David said unto Achish, If I have now found grace in thine eyes, let them give me a place in some town in the country, that I may dwell there: for why should thy servant dwell in the royal city with thee?
David said to Achish, “If now I have found favor in your eyes, let them give me a place in one of the cities in the country, that I may dwell there. For why should your servant dwell in the royal city with you?”
Con esto, le dio Aquis en aquel día la ciudad de Siceleg; y por esta casa vino a ser Siceleg de los reyes de Judá, los cuales la poseen hasta el presente.

durante los cuales salía David con su gente a hacer correrías sobre Gesuri y Gerzi y sobre los amalecitas; porque antiguamente estaban aquellas aldeas por estos pueblos desde el camino del sur hasta la tierra de Egipto.
Y subía David con los suyos, y hacían entradas en los Gesureos, y en los Gerzeos, y en los Amalecitas: porque estos habitaban de largo tiempo la tierra, desde como se va á Shur hasta la tierra de Egipto.
And David and his men went up, and invaded the Geshurites, and the Gezrites, and the Amalekites: for those nations were of old the inhabitants of the land, as thou goest to Shur, even unto the land of Egypt.

Y asolaba David todo el país, sin dejar con vida hombre ni mujer; y llevándose ovejas y bueyes, y asnos, y camellos, y ropas, daba la vuelta y se presentaba a Aquis.

And David smote the land, and left neither man nor woman alive, and took away the sheep, and the oxen, and the asses, and the camels, and the apparel, and returned, and came to Achish.
David struck the land, and saved no man or woman alive, and took away the sheep, the cattle, the donkeys, the camels, and the clothing. Then he returned, and came to Achish.
Y le decía Aquis: ¿Hacia qué lado te has dejado caer hoy? David le respondía: Hacia la parte meridional de Judá; o bien hacia el mediodía de Jerameel; o hacia el mediodía de Ceni.
Y decía Achîs: ¿Dónde habéis corrido hoy? Y David decía: Al mediodía de Judá, y al mediodía de Jerameel, ó contra el mediodía de Ceni.
And Achish said, Whither have ye made a road to day? And David said, Against the south of Judah, and against the south of the Jerahmeelites, and against the south of the Kenites.
Achish said, “Against whom have you made a raid today?” David said, “Against the South of Judah, against the South of the Jerahmeelites, and against the South of the Kenites.”
No dejaba David hombre ni mujer con vida; ni conducía prisionero ninguno a Get. No sea caso, decía, que hablen contra nosotros. Esta era la conducta de David, y éste era su proceder todo el tiempo que habitó en el país de los filisteos.

And David saved neither man nor woman alive, to bring tidings to Gath, saying, Lest they should tell on us, saying, So did David, and so will be his manner all the while he dwelleth in the country of the Philistines.

Por donde Aquis vino a fiarse de David, diciendo entre sí: Muchos son los daños que ha hecho contra su pueblo de Israel; y por lo mismo se quedará ya para siempre adicto a mi servicio.
Y Achîs creía á David, diciendo así: El se hace abominable en su pueblo de Israel, y será siempre mi siervo.
And Achish believed David, saying, He hath made his people Israel utterly to abhor him; therefore he shall be my servant for ever.
