“Deixem de falar tão orgulhosamente. Não saiam palavras arrogantes da boca de vocês! O Senhor é um Deus sábio. Ele julgará as suas ações.
No multipliquéis hablando grandezas, altanerías; cesen las palabras arrogantes de vuestra boca; porque el Dios de todo saber es Jehová, y á él toca el pesar las acciones.
Talk no more so exceeding proudly; let not arrogancy come out of your mouth: for the LORD is a God of knowledge, and by him actions are weighed.

They that were full have hired out themselves for bread; and they that were hungry ceased: so that the barren hath born seven; and she that hath many children is waxed feeble.
Those who were full have hired themselves out for bread. Those who were hungry are satisfied. Yes, the barren has borne seven. She who has many children languishes.

Delante de Jehová serán quebrantados sus adversarios, y sobre ellos tronará desde los cielos: Jehová juzgará los términos de la tierra, y dará fortaleza á su Rey, y ensalzará el cuerno de su Mesías.
The adversaries of the LORD shall be broken to pieces; out of heaven shall he thunder upon them: the LORD shall judge the ends of the earth; and he shall give strength unto his king, and exalt the horn of his anointed.

Então Elcana voltou para casa, em Ramá, sem o menino; e Samuel tornou-se servo consagrado ao Senhor, sob a orientação do sacerdote Eli.

e enquanto a carne estava cozinhando, colocava o garfo na panela ou travessa, e o sacerdote ficava com tudo o que vinha no garfo. Era assim que eles tratavam todos os israelitas que vinham a Siló.

Assim, aos olhos do Senhor, o pecado desses jovens era muito grande, pois tratavam com desprezo as ofertas que o povo trazia ao Senhor.

Eli já estava muito velho, mas ele sabia o que seus filhos faziam a todo o Israel e como conquistavam e tinham relações com as mulheres que prestavam serviço à entrada do Tabernáculo.

Por que, então, vocês são tão gananciosos e querem todas as ofertas que são trazidas a mim? Por que você, Eli, tem honrado mais a seus filhos do que a mim, pois você e eles engordaram comendo o melhor das ofertas feitas por Israel, o meu povo?”

“Portanto, eu, o Senhor, o Deus de Israel, declaro que embora tenha prometido que a sua família, da tribo de Levi, sempre seria a família dos meus sacerdotes, agora vejo que é impossível permitir que continuem a fazer o que fazem. Honrarei aqueles que me honram, e desprezarei aqueles que me desprezam.
Por tanto, Jehová el Dios de Israel dice: Yo había dicho que tu casa y la casa de tu padre andarían delante de mí perpetuamente; mas ahora ha dicho Jehová: Nunca yo tal haga, porque yo honraré á los que me honran, y los que me tuvieren en poco, serán viles.
Wherefore the LORD God of Israel saith, I said indeed that thy house, and the house of thy father, should walk before me for ever: but now the LORD saith, Be it far from me; for them that honour me I will honour, and they that despise me shall be lightly esteemed.
“Therefore the LORD, the God of Israel, says, ‘I said indeed that your house and the house of your father should walk before me forever.’ But now the LORD says, ‘Far be it from me; for those who honor me I will honor, and those who despise me will be cursed.
Acabarei com a sua família, de modo que ela não me prestará mais serviço como sacerdotes. Cada membro da sua família morrerá antes do tempo. Ninguém chegará a envelhecer.

Você terá inveja da prosperidade que darei ao meu povo. Mas você e sua família estarão em aflição e necessidade na casa de Deus e ninguém da sua casa ficará velho.

“E para provar que aquilo que eu disse vai acontecer, farei com que seus dois filhos, Hofni e Fineias, morram no mesmo dia!
Y te será por señal esto que acontecerá á tus dos hijos, Ophni y Phinees: ambos morirán en un día.
And this shall be a sign unto thee, that shall come upon thy two sons, on Hophni and Phinehas; in one day they shall die both of them.

Então farei surgir um sacerdote fiel que estará a meu serviço e agirá de acordo com o meu coração e a minha mente. Abençoarei os seus descendentes para sempre, e ele servirá sempre diante do meu rei ungido.

And I will raise me up a faithful priest, that shall do according to that which is in mine heart and in my mind: and I will build him a sure house; and he shall walk before mine anointed for ever.

Então, todos os seus descendentes se curvarão diante dele, mendigando dinheiro e alimento. ‘Por favor’, eles implorarão, ‘arranje-me um trabalho entre os sacerdotes, de maneira que eu tenha pelo menos o que comer’ ”.

It will happen that everyone who is left in your house will come and bow down to him for a piece of silver and a loaf of bread, and will say, “Please put me into one of the priests’ offices, that I may eat a morsel of bread.”’”
