1 Samuel 30

⌞Now⌟ when David and his men came to Ziklag on the third day, the Amalekites had raided the Negev and Ziklag. When they attacked Ziklag, they burned it with fire.

So he took him down, and ⌞there they were⌟, spread out over the surface of all the land, eating and drinking and dancing because of all of the abundant plunder which they had taken from the land of the Philistines and from the land of Judah.

Entonces todos los malos y perversos de entre los que habían ido con David, respondieron y dijeron: Pues que no fueron con nosotros, no les daremos de la presa que hemos quitado, sino á cada uno su mujer y sus hijos; los cuales tomen y se vayan.

Then answered all the wicked men and men of Belial, of those that went with David, and said, Because they went not with us, we will not give them ought of the spoil that we have recovered, save to every man his wife and his children, that they may lead them away, and depart.

Then all the wicked men and worthless fellows of those who went with David answered and said, “Because they didn’t go with us, we will not give them anything of the plunder that we have recovered, except to every man his wife and his children, that he may lead them away and depart.”

But David said to them, “You should not do so, my brothers, with what Yahweh has given to us! He has preserved us and has given the raiding band that came against us into our hand.

Then said David, Ye shall not do so, my brethren, with that which the LORD hath given us, who hath preserved us, and delivered the company that came against us into our hand.

Then David said, “Do not do so, my brothers, with that which the LORD has given to us, who has preserved us, and delivered the troop that came against us into our hand.

And who would listen to you regarding this matter? For as the share of the one who went down into the battle, so the share of the one who remained with the baggage will be. They will share alike.”

¿Y quién os escuchará en este caso? porque igual parte ha de ser la de los que vienen á la batalla, y la de los que quedan con el bagaje: que partan juntamente.

So from that day and beyond, he made it a rule and a regulation for Israel until this day.

Then David came to Ziklag, and he sent some of the plunder to the elders of Judah, to his friends, saying, “⌞Here is⌟ a gift for you from the plunder of the enemies of Yahweh!”

Y como David llegó á Siclag, envió de la presa á los ancianos de Judá, sus amigos, diciendo: He aquí una bendición para vosotros, de la presa de los enemigos de Jehová.

And when David came to Ziklag, he sent of the spoil unto the elders of Judah, even to his friends, saying, Behold a present for you of the spoil of the enemies of the LORD;
