Entonces los filisteos, llamando a los sacerdotes y adivinos, preguntaron: ¿Qué haremos del arca de Jehová? Hágannos saber de qué manera la hemos de volver a enviar a su lugar.

Ellos dijeron: Si envían el arca del Dios de Israel, no la envíen vacía, sino páguenle la expiación; entonces serán sanos, y conocerán por qué no se apartó de ustedes su mano.

And they said, If ye send away the ark of the God of Israel, send it not empty; but in any wise return him a trespass offering: then ye shall be healed, and it shall be known to you why his hand is not removed from you.
They said, “If you send away the ark of the God of Israel, don’t send it empty; but by all means return a trespass offering to him. Then you will be healed, and it will be known to you why his hand is not removed from you.”
Y ellos dijeron: ¿Y qué será la expiación que le pagaremos? Ellos respondieron: Conforme al número de los príncipes de los filisteos, cinco tumores de oro, y cinco ratones de oro, porque una misma plaga ha afligido a todos ustedes y a sus de ustedes príncipes.

Then said they, What shall be the trespass offering which we shall return to him? They answered, Five golden emerods, and five golden mice, according to the number of the lords of the Philistines: for one plague was on you all, and on your lords.
Then they said, “What should the trespass offering be which we shall return to him?” They said, “Five golden tumors and five golden mice, for the number of the lords of the Philistines; for one plague was on you all, and on your lords.
Harán, pues, figuras de sus de ustedes tumores, y de sus de ustedes ratones que destruyen la tierra, y darán gloria al Dios de Israel; quizá aliviará su mano de sobre ustedes y de sobre sus de ustedes dioses, y de sobre su de ustedes tierra.
Haréis pues las formas de vuestras hemorroides, y las formas de vuestros ratones que destruyen la tierra, y daréis gloria al Dios de Israel: quizá aliviará su mano de sobre vosotros, y de sobre vuestros dioses, y de sobre vuestra tierra.
Wherefore ye shall make images of your emerods, and images of your mice that mar the land; and ye shall give glory unto the God of Israel: peradventure he will lighten his hand from off you, and from off your gods, and from off your land.
Therefore you shall make images of your tumors and images of your mice that mar the land; and you shall give glory to the God of Israel. Perhaps he will release his hand from you, from your gods, and from your land.
¿Por qué endurecen su de ustedes corazón, como los egipcios y Faraón endurecieron su corazón? Después que los había tratado así, ¿no los dejaron ir, y se fueron?

Wherefore then do ye harden your hearts, as the Egyptians and Pharaoh hardened their hearts? when he had wrought wonderfully among them, did they not let the people go, and they departed?

Hagan, pues, ahora un carro nuevo, y tomen luego dos vacas que críen, a las cuales no haya sido puesto yugo, y amarren aten, unzan las vacas al carro, y hagan volver sus becerros de detrás de ellas a casa.

Now therefore make a new cart, and take two milch kine, on which there hath come no yoke, and tie the kine to the cart, and bring their calves home from them:
“Now therefore take and prepare yourselves a new cart and two milk cows on which there has come no yoke; and tie the cows to the cart, and bring their calves home from them;
Tomaran luego el arca de Jehová, y la pondrán sobre el carro, y las joyas de oro que le han de pagar en ofrenda por la culpa, las pondrán en una caja al lado de ella; y la dejaran que se vaya.
Tomaréis luego el arca de Jehová, y la pondréis sobre el carro; y poned en una caja al lado de ella las alhajas de oro que le pagáis en expiación: y la dejaréis que se vaya.
And take the ark of the LORD, and lay it upon the cart; and put the jewels of gold, which ye return him for a trespass offering, in a coffer by the side thereof; and send it away, that it may go.

Y observaran; si sube por el camino de su tierra a Bet-semes, él nos ha hecho este mal tan grande; y si no, sabremos que no es su mano la que nos ha herido, sino que esto ocurrió por accidente.
Y mirad: si sube por el camino de su término á Beth-semes, él nos ha hecho este mal tan grande; y si no, seremos ciertos que su mano no nos hirió, nos ha sido accidente.
And see, if it goeth up by the way of his own coast to Beth-shemesh, then he hath done us this great evil: but if not, then we shall know that it is not his hand that smote us; it was a chance that happened to us.

Y aquellos hombres lo hicieron así; tomando dos vacas que criaban, las amarraron ataron, uncieron al carro, y encerraron en casa sus becerros.

Y los ratones de oro fueron conforme al número de todas las ciudades de los filisteos pertenecientes a los cinco príncipes, así las ciudades fortificadas como las aldeas sin muro. La gran piedra sobre la cual pusieron el arca de Jehová está en el campo de Josué de Bet-semes hasta hoy.
Y ratones de oro conforme al número de todas las ciudades de los Filisteos pertenecientes á los cinco príncipes, desde las ciudades fuertes hasta las aldeas sin muro; y hasta la gran piedra sobre la cual pusieron el arca de Jehová, piedra que está en el campo de Josué Beth-semita hasta hoy.
And the golden mice, according to the number of all the cities of the Philistines belonging to the five lords, both of fenced cities, and of country villages, even unto the great stone of Abel, whereon they set down the ark of the LORD: which stone remaineth unto this day in the field of Joshua, the Beth-shemite.

Entonces Dios hizo morir a los hombres de Bet-semes, porque habían visto dentro del arca de Jehová; hizo morir del pueblo a cincuenta mil setenta hombres. Y lloró el pueblo, porque Jehová lo había herido con tan gran mortandad.

And he smote the men of Beth-shemesh, because they had looked into the ark of the LORD, even he smote of the people fifty thousand and threescore and ten men: and the people lamented, because the LORD had smitten many of the people with a great slaughter.
He struck of the men of Beth Shemesh, because they had looked into the LORD’s ark, he struck fifty thousand seventy of the men. Then the people mourned, because the LORD had struck the people with a great slaughter.

And the men of Beth-shemesh said, Who is able to stand before this holy LORD God? and to whom shall he go up from us?

Y enviaron mensajeros a los habitantes de Quiriatjearim, diciendo: Los filisteos han devuelto el arca de Jehová; desciendan, pues, y llévenla a ustedes.
