1 Samuel 9

Or il y avait un homme de Benjamin, qui avait nom Kis, fort et vaillant ; fils d Abiël, fils de Tséror, fils de Becorad, fils d’Aphiah, fils d’un Benjamite ;

Y HABÍA un varón de Benjamín, hombre valeroso, el cual se llamaba Cis, hijo de Abiel, hijo de Seor, hijo de Bechôra, hijo de Aphia, hijo de un hombre de Benjamín.

Now there was a man of Benjamin, whose name was Kish, the son of Abiel, the son of Zeror, the son of Bechorath, the son of Aphiah, a Benjamite, a mighty man of power.

Now there was a man of Benjamin, whose name was Kish the son of Abiel, the son of Zeror, the son of Becorath, the son of Aphiah, the son of a Benjamite, a mighty man of valor.

Lequel avait un fils nommé Saül, jeune homme d’élite, et beau, en sorte qu’il n’y avait aucun des enfants d’Israël qui fût plus beau que lui, et depuis les épaules en haut il était plus grand qu’aucun du peuple.

Y tenía él un hijo que se llamaba Saúl, mancebo y hermoso, que entre los hijos de Israel no había otro más hermoso que él; del hombro arriba sobrepujaba á cualquiera del pueblo.

And he had a son, whose name was Saul, a choice young man, and a goodly: and there was not among the children of Israel a goodlier person than he: from his shoulders and upward he was higher than any of the people.

He had a son whose name was Saul, an impressive young man; and there was not among the children of Israel a more handsome person than he. From his shoulders and upward he was taller than any of the people.

Or les ânesses de Kis, père de Saül s’étaient perdues ; et Kis dit à Saül son fils : Prends maintenant avec toi un des serviteurs et te lève, et va chercher les ânesses.

Y habíanse perdido las asnas de Cis, padre de Saúl; por lo que dijo Cis á Saúl su hijo: Toma ahora contigo alguno de los criados, y levántate, y ve á buscar las asnas.

And the asses of Kish Saul’s father were lost. And Kish said to Saul his son, Take now one of the servants with thee, and arise, go seek the asses.

The donkeys of Kish, Saul’s father, were lost. Kish said to Saul his son, “Now take one of the servants with you, and arise, go look for the donkeys.”

Il passa donc par la montagne d’Ephraïm, et traversa le pays de Salisa ; mais ils ne les trouvèrent point. Puis ils passèrent par le pays de Sehalim, mais elles n’y furent point ; ils passèrent ensuite par le pays de Jémini, mais ils ne les trouvèrent point.

Y él pasó al monte de Ephraim, y de allí á la tierra de Salisa, y no las hallaron. Pasaron luego por la tierra de Saalim, y tampoco. Después pasaron por la tierra de Benjamín, y no las encontraron.

And he passed through mount Ephraim, and passed through the land of Shalisha, but they found them not: then they passed through the land of Shalim, and there they were not: and he passed through the land of the Benjamites, but they found them not.

He passed through the hill country of Ephraim, and passed through the land of Shalishah, but they didn’t find them. Then they passed through the land of Shaalim, and they weren’t there. Then he passed through the land of the Benjamites, but they didn’t find them.

Quand ils furent venus au pays de Tsuph, Saül dit à son serviteur qui était avec lui : Viens, et retournons-nous-en, de peur que mon père n’ait cessé d’être en peine des ânesses, et qu’il ne soit en peine de nous.

Y cuando vinieron á la tierra de Suph, Saúl dijo á su criado que tenía consigo: Ven, volvámonos; porque quizá mi padre, dejado el cuidado de las asnas, estará congojado por nosotros.

And when they were come to the land of Zuph, Saul said to his servant that was with him, Come, and let us return; lest my father leave caring for the asses, and take thought for us.

When they had come to the land of Zuph, Saul said to his servant who was with him, “Come! Let’s return, lest my father stop caring about the donkeys and be anxious for us.”

Et le serviteur lui dit : Voici, je te prie, il y a en cette ville un homme de Dieu, qui est un personnage fort vénérable ; tout ce qu’il dit arrive infailliblement ; allons y maintenant, peut-être qu’il nous enseignera le chemin que nous devons prendre.

Y él le respondió: He aquí ahora hay en esta ciudad un hombre de Dios, que es varón insigne: todas las cosas que él dijere, sin duda vendrán. Vamos pues allá: quizá nos enseñará nuestro camino por donde hayamos de ir.

And he said unto him, Behold now, there is in this city a man of God, and he is an honourable man; all that he saith cometh surely to pass: now let us go thither; peradventure he can shew us our way that we should go.

The servant said to him, “Behold now, there is a man of God in this city, and he is a man who is held in honor. All that he says surely happens. Now let’s go there. Perhaps he can tell us which way to go.”

Et Saül dit à son serviteur : Mais si nous y allons, que porterons- nous à l’homme de Dieu, car la provision nous a manqué, et nous n’avons aucun présent pour porter à l’homme de Dieu ? qu’avons-nous avec nous ?

Y Saúl respondió á su criado: Vamos ahora: ¿mas qué llevaremos al varón? Porque el pan de nuestras alforjas se ha acabado, y no tenemos qué presentar al varón de Dios: ¿qué tenemos?

Then said Saul to his servant, But, behold, if we go, what shall we bring the man? for the bread is spent in our vessels, and there is not a present to bring to the man of God: what have we?

Then Saul said to his servant, “But behold, if we go, what should we bring the man? For the bread is spent in our sacks, and there is not a present to bring to the man of God. What do we have?”

Et le serviteur répondit encore à Saül, et dit : Voici j’ai encore entre mes mains le quart d’un sicle d’argent, et je le donnerai à l’homme de Dieu, et il nous enseignera notre chemin.

Entonces tornó el criado á responder á Saúl, diciendo: He aquí se halla en mi mano la cuarta parte de un siclo de plata: esto daré al varón de Dios, porque nos declare nuestro camino.

And the servant answered Saul again, and said, Behold, I have here at hand the fourth part of a shekel of silver: that will I give to the man of God, to tell us our way.

The servant answered Saul again and said, “Behold, I have in my hand the fourth part of a shekel of silver. I will give that to the man of God, to tell us our way.”

0r c’était anciennement la coutume en Israël quand on allait consulter Dieu, qu’on se disait l’un à l’autre : Venez, allons au Voyant ; car celui qu’on appelle aujourd’hui Prophète, s’appelait autrefois le Voyant.

(Antiguamente en Israel cualquiera que iba á consultar á Dios, decía así: Venid y vamos hasta el vidente: porque el que ahora se llama profeta, antiguamente era llamado vidente).

(Beforetime in Israel, when a man went to enquire of God, thus he spake, Come, and let us go to the seer: for he that is now called a Prophet was beforetime called a Seer.)

(In earlier times in Israel, when a man went to inquire of God, he said, “Come! Let’s go to the seer;” for he who is now called a prophet was before called a seer.)

Et Saül dit à son serviteur : Tu dis bien ; viens ; allons. Et ils s’en allèrent dans la ville où était l’homme de Dieu.

Dijo entonces Saúl á su criado: Bien dices; ea pues, vamos. Y fueron á la ciudad donde estaba el varón de Dios.

Then said Saul to his servant, Well said; come, let us go. So they went unto the city where the man of God was.

Then Saul said to his servant, “Well said. Come! Let’s go.” So they went to the city where the man of God was.

Et comme ils montaient par la montée de la ville, ils trouvèrent de jeunes filles qui sortaient pour puiser de l’eau, et ils leur dirent : Le Voyant n’est-il pas ici ?

Y cuando subían por la cuesta de la ciudad, hallaron unas mozas que salían por agua, á las cuales dijeron: ¿Está en este lugar el vidente?

And as they went up the hill to the city, they found young maidens going out to draw water, and said unto them, Is the seer here?

As they went up the ascent to the city, they found young maidens going out to draw water, and said to them, “Is the seer here?”

Et elles leur répondirent, et dirent : Il y est, le voilà devant toi ; hâte-toi maintenant, car il est venu aujourd’hui en la ville, parce qu’il y a aujourd’hui un sacrifice pour le peuple dans le haut lieu.

Y ellas respondiéndoles, dijeron: Sí; helo aquí delante de ti: date pues priesa, porque hoy ha venido á la ciudad en atención á que el pueblo tiene hoy sacrificio en el alto.

And they answered them, and said, He is; behold, he is before you: make haste now, for he came to day to the city; for there is a sacrifice of the people to day in the high place:

They answered them and said, “He is. Behold, he is before you. Hurry now, for he has come today into the city; for the people have a sacrifice today in the high place.

Comme vous entrerez dans la ville, vous le trouverez avant qu’il monte au haut lieu pour manger ; car le peuple ne mangera point jusqu’à ce qu’il soit venu, parce qu’il doit bénir le sacrifice ; et après cela ceux qui sont conviés en mangeront ; montez donc maintenant ; car vous le trouverez aujourd’hui.

Y cuando entrareis en la ciudad, le encontraréis luego, antes que suba al alto á comer; pues el pueblo no comerá hasta que él haya venido, por cuanto él haya de bendecir el sacrificio, y después comerán los convidados. Subid pues ahora, porque ahora le hallaréis.

As soon as ye be come into the city, ye shall straightway find him, before he go up to the high place to eat: for the people will not eat until he come, because he doth bless the sacrifice; and afterwards they eat that be bidden. Now therefore get you up; for about this time ye shall find him.

As soon as you have come into the city, you will immediately find him before he goes up to the high place to eat; for the people will not eat until he comes, because he blesses the sacrifice. Afterwards those who are invited eat. Now therefore go up; for at this time you will find him.”

Ils montèrent donc à la ville ; et comme ils entraient dans la ville, voici, Samuel, qui sortait pour monter au haut lieu, les rencontra.

Ellos entonces subieron á la ciudad; y cuando en medio de la ciudad estuvieron, he aquí Samuel que delante de ellos salía para subir al alto.

And they went up into the city: and when they were come into the city, behold, Samuel came out against them, for to go up to the high place.

They went up to the city. As they came within the city, behold, Samuel came out toward them to go up to the high place.

Or l’Eternel avait fait entendre et avait dit à Samuel, un jour avant que Saül vînt :

Y un día antes que Saúl viniese, Jehová había revelado al oído de Samuel, diciendo:

Now the LORD had told Samuel in his ear a day before Saul came, saying,

Now the LORD had revealed to Samuel a day before Saul came, saying,

Demain à cette même heure je t’enverrai un homme du pays de Benjamin, et tu l’oindras pour être le conducteur de mon peuple d’Israël, et il délivrera mon peuple de la main des Philistins ; car j’ai regardé mon peuple, parce que son cri est parvenu jusqu’à moi.

Mañana á esta misma hora yo enviaré á ti un varón de la tierra de Benjamín, al cual ungirás por príncipe sobre mi pueblo Israel, y salvará mi pueblo de mano de los Filisteos: pues yo he mirado á mi pueblo, porque su clamor ha llegado hasta mí.

To morrow about this time I will send thee a man out of the land of Benjamin, and thou shalt anoint him to be captain over my people Israel, that he may save my people out of the hand of the Philistines: for I have looked upon my people, because their cry is come unto me.

“Tomorrow about this time I will send you a man out of the land of Benjamin, and you shall anoint him to be prince over my people Israel. He will save my people out of the hand of the Philistines; for I have looked upon my people, because their cry has come to me.”

Et dès que Samuel eut aperçu Saül, l’Eternel lui dit : Voilà l’homme dont je t’ai parlé ; c’est celui qui dominera sur mon peuple.

Y luego que Samuel vió á Saúl, Jehová le dijo: He aquí éste es el varón del cual te hablé; éste señoreará á mi pueblo.

And when Samuel saw Saul, the LORD said unto him, Behold the man whom I spake to thee of! this same shall reign over my people.

When Samuel saw Saul, the LORD said to him, “Behold, the man of whom I spoke to you! He will have authority over my people.”

Et Saül s’approcha de Samuel au dedans de la porte, et lui dit: Je te prie enseigne-moi où est la maison du Voyant.

Y llegando Saúl á Samuel en medio de la puerta, díjole: Ruégote que me enseñes dónde está la casa del vidente.

Then Saul drew near to Samuel in the gate, and said, Tell me, I pray thee, where the seer’s house is.

Then Saul approached Samuel in the gateway, and said, “Please tell me where the seer’s house is.”

Et Samuel répondit à Saül, et dit : Je suis le Voyant ; monte devant moi au haut lieu, et vous mangerez aujourd’hui avec moi ; et je te laisserai aller au matin, et je te déclarerai tout ce que tu as sur le cœur.

Y Samuel respondió á Saúl, y dijo: Yo soy el vidente: sube delante de mí al alto, y comed hoy conmigo, y por la mañana te despacharé, y te descubriré todo lo que está en tu corazón.

And Samuel answered Saul, and said, I am the seer: go up before me unto the high place; for ye shall eat with me to day, and to morrow I will let thee go, and will tell thee all that is in thine heart.

Samuel answered Saul and said, “I am the seer. Go up before me to the high place, for you are to eat with me today. In the morning I will let you go and will tell you all that is in your heart.

Car quant aux ânesses que tu as perdues il y a aujourd’hui trois jours, ne t’en mets point en peine, parce qu’elles ont été trouvées. Et vers qui tend tout le désir d’Israël ? n’est ce point vers toi, et vers toute la maison de ton père ?

Y de las asnas que se te perdieron hoy ha tres días, pierde cuidado de ellas, porque se han hallado. Mas ¿por quién es todo el deseo de Israel, sino por ti y por toda la casa de tu padre?

And as for thine asses that were lost three days ago, set not thy mind on them; for they are found. And on whom is all the desire of Israel? Is it not on thee, and on all thy father’s house?

As for your donkeys who were lost three days ago, don’t set your mind on them, for they have been found. For whom does all Israel desire? Is it not you and all your father’s house?”

Et Saül répondit et dit : Ne suis-je pas Benjamite, de la moindre Tribu d’Israël, et ma famille n’est-elle pas la plus petite de toutes les familles de la Tribu de Benjamin ? et pourquoi m’as-tu tenu de tels discours ?

Y Saúl respondió, y dijo: ¿No soy yo hijo de Benjamín, de las más pequeñas tribus de Israel? Y mi familia ¿no es la más pequeña de todas las familias de la tribu de Benjamín? ¿por qué pues me has dicho cosa semejante?

And Saul answered and said, Am not I a Benjamite, of the smallest of the tribes of Israel? and my family the least of all the families of the tribe of Benjamin? wherefore then speakest thou so to me?

Saul answered, “Am I not a Benjamite, of the smallest of the tribes of Israel? And my family the least of all the families of the tribe of Benjamin? Why then do you speak to me like this?”

Samuel donc prit Saül et son serviteur, et les fit entrer dans la salle, et les plaça au plus haut bout, entre les conviés, qui étaient environ trente hommes.

Y trabando Samuel de Saúl y de su criado, metiólos en la sala, y dióles lugar á la cabecera de los convidados, que eran como unos treinta hombres.

And Samuel took Saul and his servant, and brought them into the parlour, and made them sit in the chiefest place among them that were bidden, which were about thirty persons.

Samuel took Saul and his servant and brought them into the guest room, and made them sit in the best place among those who were invited, who were about thirty persons.

Et Samuel dit au cuisinier : Apporte la portion que je t’ai donnée, et de laquelle je t’ai dit de la serrer par devers toi.

Y dijo Samuel al cocinero: Trae acá la porción que te dí, la cual te dije que guardases aparte.

And Samuel said unto the cook, Bring the portion which I gave thee, of which I said unto thee, Set it by thee.

Samuel said to the cook, “Bring the portion which I gave you, of which I said to you, ‘Set it aside.’”

Or le cuisinier avait levé une épaule, et ce qui était au dessus, et il la mit devant Saül. Et Samuel dit : Voici ce qui a été réservé, mets-le devant toi, et mange ; car il t’a été gardé expressément pour cette heure, lorsque j’ai dit de convier le peuple ; et Saül mangea avec Samuel ce jour-là.

Entonces alzó el cocinero una espaldilla, con lo que estaba sobre ella, y púsola delante de Saúl. Y Samuel dijo: He aquí lo que estaba reservado: ponlo delante de ti, y come; porque de industria se guardó para ti, cuando dije: Yo he convidado al pueblo. Y Saúl comió aquel día con Samuel.

And the cook took up the shoulder, and that which was upon it, and set it before Saul. And Samuel said, Behold that which is left! set it before thee, and eat: for unto this time hath it been kept for thee since I said, I have invited the people. So Saul did eat with Samuel that day.

The cook took up the thigh, and that which was on it, and set it before Saul. Samuel said, “Behold, that which has been reserved! Set it before yourself and eat; because it has been kept for you for the appointed time, for I said, ‘I have invited the people.’” So Saul ate with Samuel that day.

Puis ils descendirent du haut lieu dans la ville, et Samuel parla avec Saül sur le toit.

Y cuando hubieron descendido del alto á la ciudad, él habló con Saúl en el terrado.

And when they were come down from the high place into the city, Samuel communed with Saul upon the top of the house.

When they had come down from the high place into the city, he talked with Saul on the housetop.

Puis s’étant levé le matin, à la pointe du jour, Samuel appela Saül sur le toit, et lui dit : Lève-toi, et je te laisserai aller. Saül donc se leva, et ils sortirent eux deux dehors, lui et Samuel.

Y al otro día madrugaron: y como al apuntar del alba, Samuel llamó á Saúl, que estaba en el terrado; y dijo: Levántate, para que te despache. Levantóse luego Saúl, y salieron fuera ambos, él y Samuel.

And they arose early: and it came to pass about the spring of the day, that Samuel called Saul to the top of the house, saying, Up, that I may send thee away. And Saul arose, and they went out both of them, he and Samuel, abroad.

They arose early; and about daybreak, Samuel called to Saul on the housetop, saying, “Get up, that I may send you away.” Saul arose, and they both went outside, he and Samuel, together.

Et comme ils descendaient au bas de la ville, Samuel dit à Saül : Dis au serviteur qu’il passe devant nous ; lequel passa, mais toi arrête-toi maintenant, afin que je te fasse entendre la parole de Dieu.

Y descendiendo ellos al cabo de la ciudad, dijo Samuel á Saúl: Di al mozo que vaya delante, (y adelantóse el mozo); mas espera tú un poco para que te declare palabra de Dios.

And as they were going down to the end of the city, Samuel said to Saul, Bid the servant pass on before us, (and he passed on,) but stand thou still a while, that I may shew thee the word of God.

As they were going down at the end of the city, Samuel said to Saul, “Tell the servant to go on ahead of us.” He went ahead, then Samuel said, “But stand still first, that I may cause you to hear God’s message.”
