Y tenía él un hijo que se llamaba Saúl, mancebo y hermoso, que entre los hijos de Israel no había otro más hermoso que él; del hombro arriba sobrepujaba á cualquiera del pueblo.
And he had a son, whose name was Saul, a choice young man, and a goodly: and there was not among the children of Israel a goodlier person than he: from his shoulders and upward he was higher than any of the people.

And the asses of Kish Saul’s father were lost. And Kish said to Saul his son, Take now one of the servants with thee, and arise, go seek the asses.
The donkeys of Kish, Saul’s father, were lost. Kish said to Saul his son, “Now take one of the servants with you, and arise, go look for the donkeys.”
Ils traversèrent les montagnes d'Ephraïm ; ils traversèrent le territoire de Selcha, et ils ne trouvèrent rien ; ils traversèrent le territoire de Ségalim, les ânesses n'y étaient pas ; ils traversèrent le territoire de Jamin, et ils ne trouvèrent rien encore.
Y él pasó al monte de Ephraim, y de allí á la tierra de Salisa, y no las hallaron. Pasaron luego por la tierra de Saalim, y tampoco. Después pasaron por la tierra de Benjamín, y no las encontraron.
And he passed through mount Ephraim, and passed through the land of Shalisha, but they found them not: then they passed through the land of Shalim, and there they were not: and he passed through the land of the Benjamites, but they found them not.

Comme ils passaient près de Siph, Saül dit au serviteur qui l'accompagnait : Viens, retournons chez nous, de peur que mon père ne s'inquiète plus de nous que des ânesses.
Y cuando vinieron á la tierra de Suph, Saúl dijo á su criado que tenía consigo: Ven, volvámonos; porque quizá mi padre, dejado el cuidado de las asnas, estará congojado por nosotros.
And when they were come to the land of Zuph, Saul said to his servant that was with him, Come, and let us return; lest my father leave caring for the asses, and take thought for us.
When they had come to the land of Zuph, Saul said to his servant who was with him, “Come! Let’s return, lest my father stop caring about the donkeys and be anxious for us.”
Le serviteur lui répondit : Écoute, il y a en cette ville un homme de Dieu, un homme renommé ; tout ce qu'il prédit arrive. Allons-y donc, afin qu'il nous fasse connaître la voie que nous devons prendre.
Y él le respondió: He aquí ahora hay en esta ciudad un hombre de Dios, que es varón insigne: todas las cosas que él dijere, sin duda vendrán. Vamos pues allá: quizá nos enseñará nuestro camino por donde hayamos de ir.
And he said unto him, Behold now, there is in this city a man of God, and he is an honourable man; all that he saith cometh surely to pass: now let us go thither; peradventure he can shew us our way that we should go.
The servant said to him, “Behold now, there is a man of God in this city, and he is a man who is held in honor. All that he says surely happens. Now let’s go there. Perhaps he can tell us which way to go.”
Et Saül dit au serviteur qui l'accompagnait : Je le veux bien, nous irons ; mais que porterons-nous à l'homme de Dieu ? Il ne nous reste plus rien du pain que nous avions emporté dans nos valises, et nous n'avons rien à offrir à l'homme de Dieu.
Y Saúl respondió á su criado: Vamos ahora: ¿mas qué llevaremos al varón? Porque el pan de nuestras alforjas se ha acabado, y no tenemos qué presentar al varón de Dios: ¿qué tenemos?
Then said Saul to his servant, But, behold, if we go, what shall we bring the man? for the bread is spent in our vessels, and there is not a present to bring to the man of God: what have we?
Then Saul said to his servant, “But behold, if we go, what should we bring the man? For the bread is spent in our sacks, and there is not a present to bring to the man of God. What do we have?”
Le serviteur répondit à Saül, et il lui dit : Je trouve à l'instant sous ma main un quart de sicle d'argent ; tu le donneras à l'homme de Dieu, et il nous fera connaître notre chemin.
Entonces tornó el criado á responder á Saúl, diciendo: He aquí se halla en mi mano la cuarta parte de un siclo de plata: esto daré al varón de Dios, porque nos declare nuestro camino.
And the servant answered Saul again, and said, Behold, I have here at hand the fourth part of a shekel of silver: that will I give to the man of God, to tell us our way.

Or, jadis en Israël, tout homme qui allait consulter Dieu, disait : Allons chez le voyant, parce que jadis le peuple donnait au prophète le nom de voyant.
(Antiguamente en Israel cualquiera que iba á consultar á Dios, decía así: Venid y vamos hasta el vidente: porque el que ahora se llama profeta, antiguamente era llamado vidente).

Saül dit donc à son serviteur : Ton conseil est bon, allons-y. Et ils allèrent à la ville où demeurait l'homme de Dieu.
Dijo entonces Saúl á su criado: Bien dices; ea pues, vamos. Y fueron á la ciudad donde estaba el varón de Dios.
Then said Saul to his servant, Well said; come, let us go. So they went unto the city where the man of God was.
Then Saul said to his servant, “Well said. Come! Let’s go.” So they went to the city where the man of God was.
Comme ils gravissaient le coteau qui monte à la ville, ils rencontrèrent des jeunes filles qui venaient de puiser de l'eau, et ils leur dirent : Le voyant est-il là ?
Y cuando subían por la cuesta de la ciudad, hallaron unas mozas que salían por agua, á las cuales dijeron: ¿Está en este lugar el vidente?

Les jeunes filles leur répondirent : Il y est ; le voici devant vous ; il est venu à la ville à cause du jour, parce qu'aujourd'hui il y a pour le peuple un sacrifice en Bama.
Y ellas respondiéndoles, dijeron: Sí; helo aquí delante de ti: date pues priesa, porque hoy ha venido á la ciudad en atención á que el pueblo tiene hoy sacrificio en el alto.
And they answered them, and said, He is; behold, he is before you: make haste now, for he came to day to the city; for there is a sacrifice of the people to day in the high place:
They answered them and said, “He is. Behold, he is before you. Hurry now, for he has come today into the city; for the people have a sacrifice today in the high place.
Lorsque vous serez entrés dans la ville, vous l'y trouverez encore avant qu'il soit monté en Bama pour manger. Le peuple ne mangera pas qu'il ne soit arrivé, car c'est lui qui bénit le sacrifice ; après cela, les invités mangent. Montez donc ; pendant toute cette journée vous êtes sûrs de le trouver.
Y cuando entrareis en la ciudad, le encontraréis luego, antes que suba al alto á comer; pues el pueblo no comerá hasta que él haya venido, por cuanto él haya de bendecir el sacrificio, y después comerán los convidados. Subid pues ahora, porque ahora le hallaréis.
As soon as ye be come into the city, ye shall straightway find him, before he go up to the high place to eat: for the people will not eat until he come, because he doth bless the sacrifice; and afterwards they eat that be bidden. Now therefore get you up; for about this time ye shall find him.
As soon as you have come into the city, you will immediately find him before he goes up to the high place to eat; for the people will not eat until he comes, because he blesses the sacrifice. Afterwards those who are invited eat. Now therefore go up; for at this time you will find him.”
Et ils montèrent à la ville ; ils étaient déjà au centre de la ville, quand Samuel sortit pour monter en Barra, et ils le rencontrèrent.
Ellos entonces subieron á la ciudad; y cuando en medio de la ciudad estuvieron, he aquí Samuel que delante de ellos salía para subir al alto.
And they went up into the city: and when they were come into the city, behold, Samuel came out against them, for to go up to the high place.

La veille de l'arrivée de Saül, le Seigneur l'avait annoncée à Samuel, en disant :
Y un día antes que Saúl viniese, Jehová había revelado al oído de Samuel, diciendo:
Now the LORD had told Samuel in his ear a day before Saul came, saying,
Now the LORD had revealed to Samuel a day before Saul came, saying,
A pareille heure, demain, j'enverrai auprès de toi un homme de la tribu de Benjamin ; tu l'oindras comme roi de tout mon peuple ; et il sauvera Israël des mains des Philistins, car j'ai considéré l'abaissement de mon peuple, ses cris sont venus jusqu'à moi.
Mañana á esta misma hora yo enviaré á ti un varón de la tierra de Benjamín, al cual ungirás por príncipe sobre mi pueblo Israel, y salvará mi pueblo de mano de los Filisteos: pues yo he mirado á mi pueblo, porque su clamor ha llegado hasta mí.
To morrow about this time I will send thee a man out of the land of Benjamin, and thou shalt anoint him to be captain over my people Israel, that he may save my people out of the hand of the Philistines: for I have looked upon my people, because their cry is come unto me.
“Tomorrow about this time I will send you a man out of the land of Benjamin, and you shall anoint him to be prince over my people Israel. He will save my people out of the hand of the Philistines; for I have looked upon my people, because their cry has come to me.”
Quand Samuel vit Saül, le Seigneur lui dit : Voici l'homme dont je t'ai parlé ; c'est lui qui règnera sur mon peuple.
Y luego que Samuel vió á Saúl, Jehová le dijo: He aquí éste es el varón del cual te hablé; éste señoreará á mi pueblo.
And when Samuel saw Saul, the LORD said unto him, Behold the man whom I spake to thee of! this same shall reign over my people.
When Samuel saw Saul, the LORD said to him, “Behold, the man of whom I spoke to you! He will have authority over my people.”
Et Saül aborda Samuel, au milieu de la ville, et il lui dit : Indique-moi la maison du voyant.
Y llegando Saúl á Samuel en medio de la puerta, díjole: Ruégote que me enseñes dónde está la casa del vidente.
Then Saul drew near to Samuel in the gate, and said, Tell me, I pray thee, where the seer’s house is.
Then Saul approached Samuel in the gateway, and said, “Please tell me where the seer’s house is.”
Samuel répondit à Saül, et il lui dit : Je suis le voyant, monte devant moi en Bama ; mange aujourd'hui avec moi ; demain, je te congédierai, et je te dévoilerai tout ce qui est en ton cœur.
Y Samuel respondió á Saúl, y dijo: Yo soy el vidente: sube delante de mí al alto, y comed hoy conmigo, y por la mañana te despacharé, y te descubriré todo lo que está en tu corazón.
And Samuel answered Saul, and said, I am the seer: go up before me unto the high place; for ye shall eat with me to day, and to morrow I will let thee go, and will tell thee all that is in thine heart.
Samuel answered Saul and said, “I am the seer. Go up before me to the high place, for you are to eat with me today. In the morning I will let you go and will tell you all that is in your heart.
Ne songe plus aux ânesses qui étaient perdues il y a trois jours ; elles sont retrouvées. Et à qui donc seront les choses précieuses d'Israël, si ce n'est à toi et à la maison de ton père ?
Y de las asnas que se te perdieron hoy ha tres días, pierde cuidado de ellas, porque se han hallado. Mas ¿por quién es todo el deseo de Israel, sino por ti y por toda la casa de tu padre?
And as for thine asses that were lost three days ago, set not thy mind on them; for they are found. And on whom is all the desire of Israel? Is it not on thee, and on all thy father’s house?
As for your donkeys who were lost three days ago, don’t set your mind on them, for they have been found. For whom does all Israel desire? Is it not you and all your father’s house?”
Saül répondit, et il dit : Ne suis-je pas des fils de Jéminée, du moindre des cantons d'une tribu d'Israël, du moindre principat de tout Benjamin ? Pourquoi m'adresses-tu de telles paroles ?
Y Saúl respondió, y dijo: ¿No soy yo hijo de Benjamín, de las más pequeñas tribus de Israel? Y mi familia ¿no es la más pequeña de todas las familias de la tribu de Benjamín? ¿por qué pues me has dicho cosa semejante?
And Saul answered and said, Am not I a Benjamite, of the smallest of the tribes of Israel? and my family the least of all the families of the tribe of Benjamin? wherefore then speakest thou so to me?
Saul answered, “Am I not a Benjamite, of the smallest of the tribes of Israel? And my family the least of all the families of the tribe of Benjamin? Why then do you speak to me like this?”
Et Samuel prit Saül avec son serviteur, il les introduisit en Rama dans la salle du festin ; il leur donna place parmi les premiers des convives, qui étaient environ soixante-dix.
Y trabando Samuel de Saúl y de su criado, metiólos en la sala, y dióles lugar á la cabecera de los convidados, que eran como unos treinta hombres.
And Samuel took Saul and his servant, and brought them into the parlour, and made them sit in the chiefest place among them that were bidden, which were about thirty persons.

Et Samuel dit au cuisinier : Apporte-moi l'épaule que je t'ai donnée, et que je t'ai dit de garder chez toi.
Y dijo Samuel al cocinero: Trae acá la porción que te dí, la cual te dije que guardases aparte.
And Samuel said unto the cook, Bring the portion which I gave thee, of which I said unto thee, Set it by thee.
Samuel said to the cook, “Bring the portion which I gave you, of which I said to you, ‘Set it aside.’”
Le cuisinier avait fait cuire l'épaule, il la plaça devant Saül, et Samuel lui dit : Voilà ce qui t'est réservé ; prends cette épaule et mange, car on l'a mise auprès de toi pour qu'elle soit un témoignage de préférence aux yeux de tous les autres ; coupe et mange. Ce jour-là donc, Saül mangea avec Samuel.
Entonces alzó el cocinero una espaldilla, con lo que estaba sobre ella, y púsola delante de Saúl. Y Samuel dijo: He aquí lo que estaba reservado: ponlo delante de ti, y come; porque de industria se guardó para ti, cuando dije: Yo he convidado al pueblo. Y Saúl comió aquel día con Samuel.
And the cook took up the shoulder, and that which was upon it, and set it before Saul. And Samuel said, Behold that which is left! set it before thee, and eat: for unto this time hath it been kept for thee since I said, I have invited the people. So Saul did eat with Samuel that day.
The cook took up the thigh, and that which was on it, and set it before Saul. Samuel said, “Behold, that which has been reserved! Set it before yourself and eat; because it has been kept for you for the appointed time, for I said, ‘I have invited the people.’” So Saul ate with Samuel that day.
Ensuite, il revint du haut lieu à la ville, où l'on fit pour Saül un lit sur la terrasse, et il y dormit.

And when they were come down from the high place into the city, Samuel communed with Saul upon the top of the house.

Lorsque le jour vint à poindre, Samuel appela Saül sur la terrasse, disant : Lève-toi, et je te congédierai. Saül se leva, il sortit avec Samuel, et ils passèrent les portes de la ville.
Y al otro día madrugaron: y como al apuntar del alba, Samuel llamó á Saúl, que estaba en el terrado; y dijo: Levántate, para que te despache. Levantóse luego Saúl, y salieron fuera ambos, él y Samuel.
And they arose early: and it came to pass about the spring of the day, that Samuel called Saul to the top of the house, saying, Up, that I may send thee away. And Saul arose, and they went out both of them, he and Samuel, abroad.
They arose early; and about daybreak, Samuel called to Saul on the housetop, saying, “Get up, that I may send you away.” Saul arose, and they both went outside, he and Samuel, together.
Comme ils descendaient le coteau, Samuel dit à Saül : Ordonne à ton serviteur de s'en aller devant nous, et arrête-toi, afin qu'aujourd'hui tu entendes la parole du Seigneur.
Y descendiendo ellos al cabo de la ciudad, dijo Samuel á Saúl: Di al mozo que vaya delante, (y adelantóse el mozo); mas espera tú un poco para que te declare palabra de Dios.
And as they were going down to the end of the city, Samuel said to Saul, Bid the servant pass on before us, (and he passed on,) but stand thou still a while, that I may shew thee the word of God.
As they were going down at the end of the city, Samuel said to Saul, “Tell the servant to go on ahead of us.” He went ahead, then Samuel said, “But stand still first, that I may cause you to hear God’s message.”
