1 Samuel 9

Es war aber ein Mann von Benjamin, namens Kis, ein Sohn Abiels, des Sohnes Zerors, des Sohnes Bechorats, des Sohnes Aphiachs, des Sohnes eines Benjaminiten, ein wackerer Mann.

Y HABÍA un varón de Benjamín, hombre valeroso, el cual se llamaba Cis, hijo de Abiel, hijo de Seor, hijo de Bechôra, hijo de Aphia, hijo de un hombre de Benjamín.

Now there was a man of Benjamin, whose name was Kish, the son of Abiel, the son of Zeror, the son of Bechorath, the son of Aphiah, a Benjamite, a mighty man of power.

Now there was a man of Benjamin, whose name was Kish the son of Abiel, the son of Zeror, the son of Becorath, the son of Aphiah, the son of a Benjamite, a mighty man of valor.

Der hatte einen Sohn, namens Saul, jung und schön, so daß keiner schöner war unter den Kindern Israel, eines Hauptes höher als alles Volk.

Y tenía él un hijo que se llamaba Saúl, mancebo y hermoso, que entre los hijos de Israel no había otro más hermoso que él; del hombro arriba sobrepujaba á cualquiera del pueblo.

And he had a son, whose name was Saul, a choice young man, and a goodly: and there was not among the children of Israel a goodlier person than he: from his shoulders and upward he was higher than any of the people.

He had a son whose name was Saul, an impressive young man; and there was not among the children of Israel a more handsome person than he. From his shoulders and upward he was taller than any of the people.

Aber Kis, der Vater Sauls, hatte seine Eselinnen verloren. Und Kis sprach zu seinem Sohne Saul: Nimm doch einen der Knaben mit dir und mache dich auf, gehe hin und suche die Eselinnen!

Y habíanse perdido las asnas de Cis, padre de Saúl; por lo que dijo Cis á Saúl su hijo: Toma ahora contigo alguno de los criados, y levántate, y ve á buscar las asnas.

And the asses of Kish Saul’s father were lost. And Kish said to Saul his son, Take now one of the servants with thee, and arise, go seek the asses.

The donkeys of Kish, Saul’s father, were lost. Kish said to Saul his son, “Now take one of the servants with you, and arise, go look for the donkeys.”

Und er durchwanderte das Gebirge Ephraim und ging durch die Landschaft Salisa; aber sie fanden sie nicht. Sie gingen auch durch die Landschaft Saalim, da waren sie auch nicht. Darauf durchzogen sie die Landschaft Jemini und fanden sie auch nicht.

Y él pasó al monte de Ephraim, y de allí á la tierra de Salisa, y no las hallaron. Pasaron luego por la tierra de Saalim, y tampoco. Después pasaron por la tierra de Benjamín, y no las encontraron.

And he passed through mount Ephraim, and passed through the land of Shalisha, but they found them not: then they passed through the land of Shalim, and there they were not: and he passed through the land of the Benjamites, but they found them not.

He passed through the hill country of Ephraim, and passed through the land of Shalishah, but they didn’t find them. Then they passed through the land of Shaalim, and they weren’t there. Then he passed through the land of the Benjamites, but they didn’t find them.

Als sie aber in die Landschaft Zuph kamen, sprach Saul zu seinem Knaben, der bei ihm war: Komm, laß uns wieder umkehren; mein Vater könnte von den Eselinnen lassen und sich um uns sorgen!

Y cuando vinieron á la tierra de Suph, Saúl dijo á su criado que tenía consigo: Ven, volvámonos; porque quizá mi padre, dejado el cuidado de las asnas, estará congojado por nosotros.

And when they were come to the land of Zuph, Saul said to his servant that was with him, Come, and let us return; lest my father leave caring for the asses, and take thought for us.

When they had come to the land of Zuph, Saul said to his servant who was with him, “Come! Let’s return, lest my father stop caring about the donkeys and be anxious for us.”

Er aber sprach zu ihm: Siehe doch, es ist ein Mann Gottes in dieser Stadt, und der ist ein ehrwürdiger Mann; alles, was er sagt, trifft sicher ein. So laß uns nun dahin gehen; vielleicht sagt er uns unsern Weg, den wir gehen sollen.

Y él le respondió: He aquí ahora hay en esta ciudad un hombre de Dios, que es varón insigne: todas las cosas que él dijere, sin duda vendrán. Vamos pues allá: quizá nos enseñará nuestro camino por donde hayamos de ir.

And he said unto him, Behold now, there is in this city a man of God, and he is an honourable man; all that he saith cometh surely to pass: now let us go thither; peradventure he can shew us our way that we should go.

The servant said to him, “Behold now, there is a man of God in this city, and he is a man who is held in honor. All that he says surely happens. Now let’s go there. Perhaps he can tell us which way to go.”

Saul aber sprach zu seinem Knaben: Siehe, wenn wir hingehen, was bringen wir dem Mann? Denn das Brot ist ausgegangen in unserm Sack; auch haben wir sonst keine Gabe, die wir dem Manne Gottes bringen könnten; was haben wir?

Y Saúl respondió á su criado: Vamos ahora: ¿mas qué llevaremos al varón? Porque el pan de nuestras alforjas se ha acabado, y no tenemos qué presentar al varón de Dios: ¿qué tenemos?

Then said Saul to his servant, But, behold, if we go, what shall we bring the man? for the bread is spent in our vessels, and there is not a present to bring to the man of God: what have we?

Then Saul said to his servant, “But behold, if we go, what should we bring the man? For the bread is spent in our sacks, and there is not a present to bring to the man of God. What do we have?”

Der Knabe antwortete dem Saul und sprach: Siehe, ich habe einen Viertel Silberschekel bei mir, den will ich dem Manne Gottes geben, daß er uns unsern Weg zeige.

Entonces tornó el criado á responder á Saúl, diciendo: He aquí se halla en mi mano la cuarta parte de un siclo de plata: esto daré al varón de Dios, porque nos declare nuestro camino.

And the servant answered Saul again, and said, Behold, I have here at hand the fourth part of a shekel of silver: that will I give to the man of God, to tell us our way.

The servant answered Saul again and said, “Behold, I have in my hand the fourth part of a shekel of silver. I will give that to the man of God, to tell us our way.”

Vorzeiten sagte man in Israel, wenn man ging, Gott zu befragen: Kommt, laßt uns zum Seher gehen! Denn die man jetzt Propheten heißt, die hieß man vorzeiten Seher.

(Antiguamente en Israel cualquiera que iba á consultar á Dios, decía así: Venid y vamos hasta el vidente: porque el que ahora se llama profeta, antiguamente era llamado vidente).

(Beforetime in Israel, when a man went to enquire of God, thus he spake, Come, and let us go to the seer: for he that is now called a Prophet was beforetime called a Seer.)

(In earlier times in Israel, when a man went to inquire of God, he said, “Come! Let’s go to the seer;” for he who is now called a prophet was before called a seer.)

Saul sprach zu seinem Knaben: Dein Vorschlag ist gut; komm, wir wollen gehen!

Dijo entonces Saúl á su criado: Bien dices; ea pues, vamos. Y fueron á la ciudad donde estaba el varón de Dios.

Then said Saul to his servant, Well said; come, let us go. So they went unto the city where the man of God was.

Then Saul said to his servant, “Well said. Come! Let’s go.” So they went to the city where the man of God was.

Als sie nun hingingen zu der Stadt, da der Mann Gottes war, und die Anhöhe zur Stadt hinaufstiegen, trafen sie Jungfrauen, die herauskamen, um Wasser zu schöpfen; zu denselben sprachen sie: Ist der Seher hier?

Y cuando subían por la cuesta de la ciudad, hallaron unas mozas que salían por agua, á las cuales dijeron: ¿Está en este lugar el vidente?

And as they went up the hill to the city, they found young maidens going out to draw water, and said unto them, Is the seer here?

As they went up the ascent to the city, they found young maidens going out to draw water, and said to them, “Is the seer here?”

Sie antworteten ihnen und sprachen: Ja, siehe, er ist vor dir; eile nur, denn er ist heute in die Stadt gekommen, weil das Volk heute auf der Höhe zu opfern hat.

Y ellas respondiéndoles, dijeron: Sí; helo aquí delante de ti: date pues priesa, porque hoy ha venido á la ciudad en atención á que el pueblo tiene hoy sacrificio en el alto.

And they answered them, and said, He is; behold, he is before you: make haste now, for he came to day to the city; for there is a sacrifice of the people to day in the high place:

They answered them and said, “He is. Behold, he is before you. Hurry now, for he has come today into the city; for the people have a sacrifice today in the high place.

Wenn ihr in die Stadt kommt, so werdet ihr ihn gerade treffen, ehe er zur Höhe hinaufgeht zum Essen; denn das Volk ißt nicht, bis er kommt; denn er muß das Opfer segnen, darnach essen die Geladenen. Darum so gehet hinauf; denn eben jetzt werdet ihr ihn treffen!

Y cuando entrareis en la ciudad, le encontraréis luego, antes que suba al alto á comer; pues el pueblo no comerá hasta que él haya venido, por cuanto él haya de bendecir el sacrificio, y después comerán los convidados. Subid pues ahora, porque ahora le hallaréis.

As soon as ye be come into the city, ye shall straightway find him, before he go up to the high place to eat: for the people will not eat until he come, because he doth bless the sacrifice; and afterwards they eat that be bidden. Now therefore get you up; for about this time ye shall find him.

As soon as you have come into the city, you will immediately find him before he goes up to the high place to eat; for the people will not eat until he comes, because he blesses the sacrifice. Afterwards those who are invited eat. Now therefore go up; for at this time you will find him.”

Und als sie zur Stadt hinauf kamen und in die Stadt eintreten wollten, siehe, da kam Samuel heraus, ihnen entgegen, um zur Höhe zu gehen.

Ellos entonces subieron á la ciudad; y cuando en medio de la ciudad estuvieron, he aquí Samuel que delante de ellos salía para subir al alto.

And they went up into the city: and when they were come into the city, behold, Samuel came out against them, for to go up to the high place.

They went up to the city. As they came within the city, behold, Samuel came out toward them to go up to the high place.

Aber der HERR hatte einen Tag zuvor, ehe Saul kam, Samuels Ohr geöffnet und zu ihm gesagt:

Y un día antes que Saúl viniese, Jehová había revelado al oído de Samuel, diciendo:

Now the LORD had told Samuel in his ear a day before Saul came, saying,

Now the LORD had revealed to Samuel a day before Saul came, saying,

Morgen um diese Zeit will ich einen Mann aus dem Lande Benjamin zu dir senden, den sollst du zum Fürsten über mein Volk Israel salben, daß er mein Volk von der Philister Hand erlöse; denn ich habe mein Volk angesehen, dieweil sein Geschrei vor mich gekommen ist.

Mañana á esta misma hora yo enviaré á ti un varón de la tierra de Benjamín, al cual ungirás por príncipe sobre mi pueblo Israel, y salvará mi pueblo de mano de los Filisteos: pues yo he mirado á mi pueblo, porque su clamor ha llegado hasta mí.

To morrow about this time I will send thee a man out of the land of Benjamin, and thou shalt anoint him to be captain over my people Israel, that he may save my people out of the hand of the Philistines: for I have looked upon my people, because their cry is come unto me.

“Tomorrow about this time I will send you a man out of the land of Benjamin, and you shall anoint him to be prince over my people Israel. He will save my people out of the hand of the Philistines; for I have looked upon my people, because their cry has come to me.”

Als nun Samuel den Saul ansah, antwortete ihm der HERR: Siehe, das ist der Mann, von dem ich dir gesagt habe, daß er über mein Volk herrschen soll!

Y luego que Samuel vió á Saúl, Jehová le dijo: He aquí éste es el varón del cual te hablé; éste señoreará á mi pueblo.

And when Samuel saw Saul, the LORD said unto him, Behold the man whom I spake to thee of! this same shall reign over my people.

When Samuel saw Saul, the LORD said to him, “Behold, the man of whom I spoke to you! He will have authority over my people.”

Da trat Saul zu Samuel unter dem Tor und sprach: Sage mir doch, wo ist hier des Sehers Haus?

Y llegando Saúl á Samuel en medio de la puerta, díjole: Ruégote que me enseñes dónde está la casa del vidente.

Then Saul drew near to Samuel in the gate, and said, Tell me, I pray thee, where the seer’s house is.

Then Saul approached Samuel in the gateway, and said, “Please tell me where the seer’s house is.”

Samuel antwortete dem Saul und sprach: Ich bin der Seher! Geh vor mir her zur Höhe hinauf; denn ihr sollt heute mit mir essen, und morgen will ich dich ziehen lassen; und alles, was in deinem Herzen ist, will ich dir sagen!

Y Samuel respondió á Saúl, y dijo: Yo soy el vidente: sube delante de mí al alto, y comed hoy conmigo, y por la mañana te despacharé, y te descubriré todo lo que está en tu corazón.

And Samuel answered Saul, and said, I am the seer: go up before me unto the high place; for ye shall eat with me to day, and to morrow I will let thee go, and will tell thee all that is in thine heart.

Samuel answered Saul and said, “I am the seer. Go up before me to the high place, for you are to eat with me today. In the morning I will let you go and will tell you all that is in your heart.

Um die Eselinnen aber, die dir vor drei Tagen verlorengegangen sind, bekümmere dich nicht; denn sie sind gefunden! Und wem gehört alles Wünschenswerte in Israel? Nicht dir und deines Vaters ganzem Haus?

Y de las asnas que se te perdieron hoy ha tres días, pierde cuidado de ellas, porque se han hallado. Mas ¿por quién es todo el deseo de Israel, sino por ti y por toda la casa de tu padre?

And as for thine asses that were lost three days ago, set not thy mind on them; for they are found. And on whom is all the desire of Israel? Is it not on thee, and on all thy father’s house?

As for your donkeys who were lost three days ago, don’t set your mind on them, for they have been found. For whom does all Israel desire? Is it not you and all your father’s house?”

Saul antwortete und sprach: Bin ich nicht ein Benjaminiter, von einem der kleinsten Stämme Israels, und ist mein Geschlecht nicht das geringste unter allen Geschlechtern der Stämme Benjamins? Warum sagst du mir denn solches?

Y Saúl respondió, y dijo: ¿No soy yo hijo de Benjamín, de las más pequeñas tribus de Israel? Y mi familia ¿no es la más pequeña de todas las familias de la tribu de Benjamín? ¿por qué pues me has dicho cosa semejante?

And Saul answered and said, Am not I a Benjamite, of the smallest of the tribes of Israel? and my family the least of all the families of the tribe of Benjamin? wherefore then speakest thou so to me?

Saul answered, “Am I not a Benjamite, of the smallest of the tribes of Israel? And my family the least of all the families of the tribe of Benjamin? Why then do you speak to me like this?”

Samuel aber nahm Saul samt seinem Knaben und führte sie in den Saal und setzte sie oben an unter die Geladenen; derer waren bei dreißig Mann.

Y trabando Samuel de Saúl y de su criado, metiólos en la sala, y dióles lugar á la cabecera de los convidados, que eran como unos treinta hombres.

And Samuel took Saul and his servant, and brought them into the parlour, and made them sit in the chiefest place among them that were bidden, which were about thirty persons.

Samuel took Saul and his servant and brought them into the guest room, and made them sit in the best place among those who were invited, who were about thirty persons.

Und Samuel sprach zu dem Koch: Gib das Stück her, das ich dir gab, und von dem ich befahl, du solltest es beiseite legen!

Y dijo Samuel al cocinero: Trae acá la porción que te dí, la cual te dije que guardases aparte.

And Samuel said unto the cook, Bring the portion which I gave thee, of which I said unto thee, Set it by thee.

Samuel said to the cook, “Bring the portion which I gave you, of which I said to you, ‘Set it aside.’”

Da hob der Koch die Keule ab und brachte sie heraus und setzte sie Saul vor. Und Samuel sprach: Siehe, das ist aufbehalten worden; nimm es vor dich und iß; denn es ist auf die bestimmte Zeit für dich aufbewahrt worden, als ich sagte: Ich habe das Volk eingeladen! Also aß Saul mit Samuel an jenem Tag.

Entonces alzó el cocinero una espaldilla, con lo que estaba sobre ella, y púsola delante de Saúl. Y Samuel dijo: He aquí lo que estaba reservado: ponlo delante de ti, y come; porque de industria se guardó para ti, cuando dije: Yo he convidado al pueblo. Y Saúl comió aquel día con Samuel.

And the cook took up the shoulder, and that which was upon it, and set it before Saul. And Samuel said, Behold that which is left! set it before thee, and eat: for unto this time hath it been kept for thee since I said, I have invited the people. So Saul did eat with Samuel that day.

The cook took up the thigh, and that which was on it, and set it before Saul. Samuel said, “Behold, that which has been reserved! Set it before yourself and eat; because it has been kept for you for the appointed time, for I said, ‘I have invited the people.’” So Saul ate with Samuel that day.

Und als sie von der Höhe in die Stadt hinab gegangen waren, redete er mit Saul auf dem Dach.

Y cuando hubieron descendido del alto á la ciudad, él habló con Saúl en el terrado.

And when they were come down from the high place into the city, Samuel communed with Saul upon the top of the house.

When they had come down from the high place into the city, he talked with Saul on the housetop.

Und sie standen am Morgen früh auf. Und als die Morgenröte aufging, rief Samuel dem Saul auf dem Dach und sprach: Steh auf! Ich will dich begleiten. Da machte sich Saul auf, und die beiden gingen miteinander hinaus, er und Samuel.

Y al otro día madrugaron: y como al apuntar del alba, Samuel llamó á Saúl, que estaba en el terrado; y dijo: Levántate, para que te despache. Levantóse luego Saúl, y salieron fuera ambos, él y Samuel.

And they arose early: and it came to pass about the spring of the day, that Samuel called Saul to the top of the house, saying, Up, that I may send thee away. And Saul arose, and they went out both of them, he and Samuel, abroad.

They arose early; and about daybreak, Samuel called to Saul on the housetop, saying, “Get up, that I may send you away.” Saul arose, and they both went outside, he and Samuel, together.

Und als sie am Ende der Stadt hinabstiegen, sprach Samuel zu Saul: Sage dem Knaben, daß er vor uns hingehe (und er ging hin) du aber stehe jetzt still, daß ich dir kundtue, was Gott gesagt hat!

Y descendiendo ellos al cabo de la ciudad, dijo Samuel á Saúl: Di al mozo que vaya delante, (y adelantóse el mozo); mas espera tú un poco para que te declare palabra de Dios.

And as they were going down to the end of the city, Samuel said to Saul, Bid the servant pass on before us, (and he passed on,) but stand thou still a while, that I may shew thee the word of God.

As they were going down at the end of the city, Samuel said to Saul, “Tell the servant to go on ahead of us.” He went ahead, then Samuel said, “But stand still first, that I may cause you to hear God’s message.”
