1Paul, et Silvain, et Timothée, à l’assemblée des Thessaloniciens, en Dieu le Père et dans le seigneur Jésus Christ : Grâce et paix à vous !
2Nous rendons toujours grâces à Dieu pour vous tous, faisant mention de vous dans nos prières,
3nous souvenant sans cesse de votre œuvre de foi, de votre travail d’amour, et de votre patience d’espérance de notre seigneur Jésus Christ, devant notre Dieu et Père,
4sachant, frères aimés de Dieu, votre élection.
5Car notre évangile n’est pas venu à vous en parole seulement, mais aussi en puissance, et dans l’Esprit Saint, et dans une grande plénitude d’assurance, ainsi que vous savez quels nous avons été parmi vous pour l’amour de vous.
6Et vous êtes devenus nos imitateurs et ceux du Seigneur, ayant reçu la parole, [accompagnée] de grandes tribulations, avec la joie de l’Esprit Saint ;
7de sorte que vous êtes devenus des modèles pour tous ceux qui croient dans la Macédoine et dans l’Achaïe.
8Car la parole du Seigneur a retenti de chez vous, non seulement dans la Macédoine et dans l’Achaïe, mais, en tous lieux, votre foi envers Dieu s’est répandue, de sorte que nous n’avons pas besoin d’en rien dire.
9Car eux-mêmes racontent de nous quelle entrée nous avons eue auprès de vous, et comment vous vous êtes tournés des idoles vers Dieu, pour servir le Dieu vivant et vrai,
10et pour attendre des cieux son Fils qu’il a ressuscité d’entre les morts, Jésus, qui nous délivre de la colère qui vient.

1PABLO, y Silvano, y Timoteo, á la iglesia de los Tesalonicenses que es en Dios Padre y en el Señor Jesucristo: Gracia y paz á vosotros de Dios nuestro Padre y del Señor Jesucristo.
2Damos siempre gracias á Dios por todos vosotros, haciendo memoria de vosotros en nuestras oraciones;
3Sin cesar acordándonos delante del Dios y Padre nuestro de la obra de vuestra fe, y del trabajo de amor, y de la tolerancia de la esperanza del Señor nuestro Jesucristo:
4Sabiendo, hermanos amados de Dios, vuestra elección:
5Por cuanto nuestro evangelio no fué á vosotros en palabra solamente, mas también en potencia, y en Espíritu Santo, y en gran plenitud; como sabéis cuáles fuimos entre vosotros por amor de vosotros.
6Y vosotros fuisteis hechos imitadores de nosotros, y del Señor, recibiendo la palabra con mucha tribulación, con gozo del Espíritu Santo:
7En tal manera que habéis sido ejemplo á todos los que han creído en Macedonia y en Acaya.
8Porque de vosotros ha sido divulgada la palabra del Señor no sólo en Macedonia y en Acaya, mas aun en todo lugar vuestra fe en Dios se ha extendido; de modo que no tenemos necesidad de hablar nada.
9Porque ellos cuentan de nosotros cuál entrada tuvimos á vosotros; y cómo os convertisteis de los ídolos á Dios, para servir al Dios vivo y verdadero,
10Y esperar á su Hijo de los cielos, al cual resucitó de los muertos; á Jesús, el cual nos libró de la ira que ha de venir.

1Paul, and Silvanus, and Timotheus, unto the church of the Thessalonians which is in God the Father and in the Lord Jesus Christ: Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ.
2We give thanks to God always for you all, making mention of you in our prayers;
3Remembering without ceasing your work of faith, and labour of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our Father;
4Knowing, brethren beloved, your election of God.
5For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost, and in much assurance; as ye know what manner of men we were among you for your sake.
6And ye became followers of us, and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Ghost:
7So that ye were ensamples to all that believe in Macedonia and Achaia.
8For from you sounded out the word of the Lord not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but also in every place your faith to God-ward is spread abroad; so that we need not to speak any thing.
9For they themselves shew of us what manner of entering in we had unto you, and how ye turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God;
10And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come.

1Paul, Silvanus, and Timothy, to the assembly of the Thessalonians in God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ: Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
2We always give thanks to God for all of you, mentioning you in our prayers,
3remembering without ceasing your work of faith and labor of love and perseverance of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, before our God and Father.
4We know, brothers loved by God, that you are chosen,
5and that our Good News came to you not in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Spirit and with much assurance. You know what kind of men we showed ourselves to be among you for your sake.
6You became imitators of us and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Spirit,
7so that you became an example to all who believe in Macedonia and in Achaia.
8For from you the word of the Lord has been declared, not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but also in every place your faith toward God has gone out, so that we need not say anything.
9For they themselves report concerning us what kind of a reception we had from you, and how you turned to God from idols to serve a living and true God,
10and to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead: Jesus, who delivers us from the wrath to come.
