Car, mes frères, vous savez vous-mêmes que notre entrée au milieu de vous n’a point été vaine.

PORQUE, hermanos, vosotros mismos sabéis que nuestra entrada á vosotros no fué vana:

For yourselves, brethren, know our entrance in unto you, that it was not in vain:

For you yourselves know, brothers, our visit to you wasn’t in vain,

Mais quoique nous eussions été auparavant affligés et outragés à Philippes, comme vous savez, nous avons eu le courage, appuyés sur notre Dieu de vous annoncer l’Evangile de Dieu au milieu de grands combats.

Pues aun habiendo padecido antes, y sido afrentados en Filipos, como sabéis, tuvimos denuedo en Dios nuestro para anunciaros el evangelio de Dios con gran combate.

But even after that we had suffered before, and were shamefully entreated, as ye know, at Philippi, we were bold in our God to speak unto you the gospel of God with much contention.

but having suffered before and been shamefully treated, as you know, at Philippi, we grew bold in our God to tell you the Good News of God in much conflict.

Car il n’y a eu dans l’exhortation que nous vous avons faite, ni séduction, ni mauvais motif, ni fraude.

Porque nuestra exhortación no fué de error, ni de inmundicia, ni por engaño;

For our exhortation was not of deceit, nor of uncleanness, nor in guile:

For our exhortation is not of error, nor of uncleanness, nor in deception.

Mais comme nous avons été approuvés de Dieu, afin que la prédication de l’Evangile nous fût commise, nous parlons aussi non comme voulant plaire aux hommes, mais à Dieu, qui approuve nos coeurs.

Sino según fuimos aprobados de Dios para que se nos encargase el evangelio, así hablamos; no como los que agradan á los hombres, sino á Dios, el cual prueba nuestros corazones.

But as we were allowed of God to be put in trust with the gospel, even so we speak; not as pleasing men, but God, which trieth our hearts.

But even as we have been approved by God to be entrusted with the Good News, so we speak—not as pleasing men, but God, who tests our hearts.

Car aussi nous n’avons jamais été surpris en parole de flatterie, comme vous le savez, ni en prétexte d’avarice ; Dieu en est témoin.

Porque nunca fuimos lisonjeros en la palabra, como sabéis, ni tocados de avaricia; Dios es testigo;

For neither at any time used we flattering words, as ye know, nor a cloke of covetousness; God is witness:

For neither were we at any time found using words of flattery, as you know, nor a cloak of covetousness (God is witness),

Et nous n’avons point cherché la gloire de la part des hommes, ni de vous, ni des autres ; quoique nous eussions pu montrer de l’autorité comme Apôtres de Christ :

Ni buscamos de los hombres gloria, ni de vosotros, ni de otros, aunque podíamos seros carga como apóstoles de Cristo.

Nor of men sought we glory, neither of you, nor yet of others, when we might have been burdensome, as the apostles of Christ.

nor seeking glory from men (neither from you nor from others), when we might have claimed authority as apostles of Christ.

Mais nous avons été doux au milieu de vous, comme une nourrice qui nourrit tendrement ses enfants.

Antes fuimos blandos entre vosotros como la que cría, que regala á sus hijos:

But we were gentle among you, even as a nurse cherisheth her children:

But we were gentle among you, like a nursing mother cherishes her own children.

Etant donc ainsi affectionnés envers vous, nous souhaitions de vous donner non-seulement l’Evangile de Dieu, mais aussi nos propres âmes, parce que vous étiez fort aimés de nous.

Tan amadores de vosotros, que quisiéramos entregaros no sólo el evangelio de Dios, mas aun nuestras propias almas; porque nos erais carísimos.

So being affectionately desirous of you, we were willing to have imparted unto you, not the gospel of God only, but also our own souls, because ye were dear unto us.

Even so, affectionately longing for you, we were well pleased to impart to you not the Good News of God only, but also our own souls, because you had become very dear to us.

Car, mes frères, vous vous souvenez de notre peine et de notre travail ; vu que nous vous avons prêché l’Evangile de Dieu, en travaillant nuit et jour, pour n’être point à charge à aucun de vous.

Porque ya, hermanos, os acordáis de nuestro trabajo y fatiga: que trabajando de noche y de día por no ser gravosos á ninguno de vosotros, os predicamos el evangelio de Dios.

For ye remember, brethren, our labour and travail: for labouring night and day, because we would not be chargeable unto any of you, we preached unto you the gospel of God.

For you remember, brothers, our labor and travail; for working night and day, that we might not burden any of you, we preached to you the Good News of God.

Vous êtes témoins, et Dieu aussi, comment nous nous sommes conduits saintement et justement, et sans reproche envers vous qui croyez ;

Vosotros sois testigos, y Dios, de cuán santa y justa é irreprensiblemente nos condujimos con vosotros que creísteis:

Ye are witnesses, and God also, how holily and justly and unblameably we behaved ourselves among you that believe:

You are witnesses with God how holy, righteously, and blamelessly we behaved ourselves toward you who believe.

Et vous savez que nous avons exhorté chacun de vous, comme un père exhorte ses enfants ;

Así como sabéis de qué modo exhortábamos y consolábamos á cada uno de vosotros, como el padre á sus hijos,

As ye know how we exhorted and comforted and charged every one of you, as a father doth his children,

As you know, we exhorted, comforted, and implored every one of you, as a father does his own children,

Et que nous vous avons conjuré de vous conduire dignement, comme il est séant selon Dieu, qui vous appelle à son Royaume et à sa gloire.

Y os protestábamos que anduvieseis como es digno de Dios, que os llamó á su reino y gloria.

That ye would walk worthy of God, who hath called you unto his kingdom and glory.

to the end that you should walk worthily of God, who calls you into his own Kingdom and glory.

C’est pourquoi nous rendons sans cesse grâces à Dieu, de ce que quand vous avez reçu de nous la parole de la prédication de Dieu, vous l’avez reçue non comme une parole des hommes, mais (ainsi qu’elle est véritablement) comme la parole de Dieu, laquelle aussi agit avec efficace en vous qui croyez.

Por lo cual, también nosotros damos gracias á Dios sin cesar, de que habiendo recibido la palabra de Dios que oísteis de nosotros, recibisteis no palabra de hombres, sino según es en verdad, la palabra de Dios, el cual obra en vosotros los que creísteis.

For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe.

For this cause we also thank God without ceasing that when you received from us the word of the message of God, you accepted it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, God’s word, which also works in you who believe.

Car, mes frères, vous avez imité les Eglises de Dieu qui sont dans la Judée en Jésus-Christ, parce que vous avez aussi souffert les mêmes choses de ceux de votre propre nation, comme eux aussi de la part des Juifs ;

Porque vosotros, hermanos, habéis sido imitadores de las iglesias de Dios en Cristo Jesús que están en Judea; pues habéis padecido también vosotros las mismas cosas de los de vuestra propia nación, como también ellos de los Judíos;

For ye, brethren, became followers of the churches of God which in Judaea are in Christ Jesus: for ye also have suffered like things of your own countrymen, even as they have of the Jews:

For you, brothers, became imitators of the assemblies of God which are in Judea in Christ Jesus; for you also suffered the same things from your own countrymen, even as they did from the Jews

Qui ont même mis à mort le Seigneur Jésus, et leurs propres Prophètes, et qui nous ont chassés ; et qui déplaisent à Dieu, et qui sont ennemis de tous les hommes :

Los cuales aun mataron al Señor Jesús y á sus propios profetas, y á nosotros nos han perseguido; y no agradan á Dios, y se oponen á todos los hombres;

Who both killed the Lord Jesus, and their own prophets, and have persecuted us; and they please not God, and are contrary to all men:

who killed both the Lord Jesus and their own prophets, and drove us out, and don’t please God, and are contrary to all men,

Nous empêchant de parler aux Gentils afin qu’ils soient sauvés ; comblant ainsi toujours la mesure de leurs péchés. Or la colère de Dieu est parvenue sur eux jusqu’au plus haut degré.

Prohibiéndonos hablar á los Gentiles, á fin de que se salven, para henchir la medida de sus pecados siempre: pues vino sobre ellos la ira hasta el extremo.

Forbidding us to speak to the Gentiles that they might be saved, to fill up their sins alway: for the wrath is come upon them to the uttermost.

Et pour nous, mes frères, qui avons été séparés de vous en un moment de temps, de vue, et non de coeur, nous avons d’autant plus tâché de vous aller voir, que nous en avions un fort grand désir :

Mas nosotros, hermanos, privados de vosotros por un poco de tiempo, de vista, no de corazón, tanto más procuramos con mucho deseo ver vuestro rostro.

But we, brethren, being taken from you for a short time in presence, not in heart, endeavoured the more abundantly to see your face with great desire.

But we, brothers, being bereaved of you for a short season in presence, not in heart, tried even harder to see your face with great desire,

C’est pourquoi nous avons voulu aller vers vous, au moins moi Paul, une ou deux fois ; mais Satan nous en a empêchés.

Por lo cual quisimos ir á vosotros, yo Pablo á la verdad, una vez y otra; mas Satanás nos embarazó.

Wherefore we would have come unto you, even I Paul, once and again; but Satan hindered us.

because we wanted to come to you—indeed, I, Paul, once and again—but Satan hindered us.

Car quelle est notre espérance, ou notre joie, ou notre couronne de gloire ? n’est-ce pas vous qui l’êtes devant notre Seigneur Jésus- Christ au jour de son avènement ?

Porque ¿cuál es nuestra esperanza, ó gozo, ó corona de que me gloríe? ¿No sois vosotros, delante de nuestro Señor Jesucristo en su venida?

For what is our hope, or joy, or crown of rejoicing? Are not even ye in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ at his coming?

For what is our hope, or joy, or crown of rejoicing? Isn’t it even you, before our Lord Jesus at his coming?

Certes vous êtes notre gloire et notre joie.

Que vosotros sois nuestra gloria y gozo.

For ye are our glory and joy.

For you are our glory and our joy.
