Darum haben wir's nicht weiter wollen vertragen und haben uns lassen wohlgefallen , daß wir zu Athen allein gelassen wurden,
POR lo cual, no pudiendo esperar más, acordamos quedarnos solos en Atenas,
Wherefore when we could no longer forbear, we thought it good to be left at Athens alone;

und haben Timotheus gesandt, unsern Bruder und Diener Gottes und unsern Gehilfen am Evangelium Christi, euch zu starken und zu ermahnen in eurem Glauben,
Y enviamos á Timoteo, nuestro hermano, y ministro de Dios, y colaborador nuestro en el evangelio de Cristo, á confirmaros y exhortaros en vuestra fe,
And sent Timotheus, our brother, and minister of God, and our fellowlabourer in the gospel of Christ, to establish you, and to comfort you concerning your faith:
and sent Timothy, our brother and God’s servant in the Good News of Christ, to establish you and to comfort you concerning your faith,
daß nicht jemand weich würde in diesen Trubsalen; denn ihrwisset, daß wirdazu gesetztsind.
Para que nadie se conmueva por estas tribulaciones; porque vosotros sabéis que nosotros somos puestos para esto.
That no man should be moved by these afflictions: for yourselves know that we are appointed thereunto.
that no one would be moved by these afflictions. For you know that we are appointed to this task.
Und da wir bei euch waren, sagten wir's euch zuvor, wir wurden Trubsal haben müssen; wie denn auch geschehen ist, und ihrwisset.
Que aun estando con vosotros, os predecíamos que habíamos de pasar tribulaciones, como ha acontecido y sabéis.
For verily, when we were with you, we told you before that we should suffer tribulation; even as it came to pass, and ye know.
For most certainly, when we were with you, we told you beforehand that we are to suffer affliction, even as it happened, and you know.
Darum ich's auch nicht langer vertragen, hab' ich ausgesandt, daß ich erführe euren Glauben, auf daß nicht euch vielleicht versucht hatte der Versucher, und unsere Arbeit vergeblich würde.
Por lo cual, también yo, no esperando más, he enviado á reconocer vuestra fe, no sea que os haya tentado el tentador, y que nuestro trabajo haya sido en vano.
For this cause, when I could no longer forbear, I sent to know your faith, lest by some means the tempter have tempted you, and our labour be in vain.
For this cause I also, when I couldn’t stand it any longer, sent that I might know your faith, for fear that by any means the tempter had tempted you, and our labor would have been in vain.
Nun aber, so Timotheus zu uns von euch kommen ist und uns verkundiget hat euren Glauben und Liebe, und daß ihr unser gedenket allezeit zum besten und verlanget nach uns zu sehen, wie denn auch uns nach euch,
Empero volviendo de vosotros á nosotros Timoteo, y haciéndonos saber vuestra fe y caridad, y que siempre tenéis buena memoria de nosotros, deseando vernos, como también nosotros á vosotros,
But now when Timotheus came from you unto us, and brought us good tidings of your faith and charity, and that ye have good remembrance of us always, desiring greatly to see us, as we also to see you:
But Timothy has just now come to us from you, and brought us glad news of your faith and love, and that you have good memories of us always, longing to see us, even as we also long to see you.

En ello, hermanos, recibimos consolación de vosotros en toda nuestra necesidad y aflicción por causa de vuestra fe:
Therefore, brethren, we were comforted over you in all our affliction and distress by your faith:

Denn nun sind wir lebendig, dieweil ihr stehet in dem Herrn.

Denn was fur einen Dank konnen wir Gott vergelten urn euch fur alle diese Freude, die wir haben von euch vor unserm Gott?
Por lo cual, ¿qué hacimiento de gracias podremos dar á Dios por vosotros, por todo el gozo con que nos gozamos á causa de vosotros delante de nuestro Dios,
For what thanks can we render to God again for you, for all the joy wherewith we joy for your sakes before our God;
For what thanksgiving can we give again to God for you, for all the joy with which we rejoice for your sakes before our God,
Wir bitten Tag und Nacht fast sehr, daß wir sehen mogen euer Angesicht und erstatten, so etwas mangelt an eurem Glauben.
Orando de noche y de día con grande instancia, que veamos vuestro rostro, y que cumplamos lo que falta á vuestra fe?
Night and day praying exceedingly that we might see your face, and might perfect that which is lacking in your faith?

Er aber, Gott, unser Vater, und unser Herr Jesus Christus schicke unsern Weg zu euch.

Euch aber vermehre der Herr und lasse die Liebe vollig werden untereinander und gegen jedermann (wie denn auch wirsind gegen euch),

daß eure Herzen, gestarket, unstraflich seien in der Heiligkeit vor Gott und unserm Vater auf die Zukunft unsers Herrn Jesu Christi samt alien seinen Heiligen.
Para que sean confirmados vuestros corazones en santidad, irreprensibles delante de Dios y nuestro Padre, para la venida de nuestro Señor Jesucristo con todos sus santos.
