Aussi, n'y tenant plus, nous avons préféré rester seul à Athènes,

POR lo cual, no pudiendo esperar más, acordamos quedarnos solos en Atenas,

Wherefore when we could no longer forbear, we thought it good to be left at Athens alone;

Therefore when we couldn’t stand it any longer, we thought it good to be left behind at Athens alone,

et nous vous avons envoyé Timothée, notre frère et ministre de Dieu dans la prédication de l'Evangile du Christ, pour vous affermir et vous encourager dans votre foi,

Y enviamos á Timoteo, nuestro hermano, y ministro de Dios, y colaborador nuestro en el evangelio de Cristo, á confirmaros y exhortaros en vuestra fe,

And sent Timotheus, our brother, and minister of God, and our fellowlabourer in the gospel of Christ, to establish you, and to comfort you concerning your faith:

and sent Timothy, our brother and God’s servant in the Good News of Christ, to establish you and to comfort you concerning your faith,

afin que personne ne fût ébranlé au milieu de ces tribulations qui, vous le savez vous-mêmes, sont notre partage.

Para que nadie se conmueva por estas tribulaciones; porque vosotros sabéis que nosotros somos puestos para esto.

That no man should be moved by these afflictions: for yourselves know that we are appointed thereunto.

that no one would be moved by these afflictions. For you know that we are appointed to this task.

Déjà, lorsque nous étions auprès de vous, nous vous prédisions que nous serions en butte aux tribulations, ce qui est arrivé comme vous le savez.

Que aun estando con vosotros, os predecíamos que habíamos de pasar tribulaciones, como ha acontecido y sabéis.

For verily, when we were with you, we told you before that we should suffer tribulation; even as it came to pass, and ye know.

For most certainly, when we were with you, we told you beforehand that we are to suffer affliction, even as it happened, and you know.

C'est pour cela que, moi aussi, n'y tenant plus, j'envoyai m'informer de votre foi, dans la crainte que le tentateur vous eût tentés et que notre travail ne devînt inutile.

Por lo cual, también yo, no esperando más, he enviado á reconocer vuestra fe, no sea que os haya tentado el tentador, y que nuestro trabajo haya sido en vano.

For this cause, when I could no longer forbear, I sent to know your faith, lest by some means the tempter have tempted you, and our labour be in vain.

For this cause I also, when I couldn’t stand it any longer, sent that I might know your faith, for fear that by any means the tempter had tempted you, and our labor would have been in vain.

Mais maintenant que Timothée, venant d'arriver ici de chez vous, nous a dit votre foi et votre charité, et le bon souvenir que vous gardez toujours de nous et qui vous porte à désirer nous revoir, (comme nous aussi nous le désirons à votre égard),

Empero volviendo de vosotros á nosotros Timoteo, y haciéndonos saber vuestra fe y caridad, y que siempre tenéis buena memoria de nosotros, deseando vernos, como también nosotros á vosotros,

But now when Timotheus came from you unto us, and brought us good tidings of your faith and charity, and that ye have good remembrance of us always, desiring greatly to see us, as we also to see you:

But Timothy has just now come to us from you, and brought us glad news of your faith and love, and that you have good memories of us always, longing to see us, even as we also long to see you.

alors, frères, au milieu de toutes nos angoisses et de nos tribulations, nous avons été consolés en vous, à cause de votre foi.

En ello, hermanos, recibimos consolación de vosotros en toda nuestra necesidad y aflicción por causa de vuestra fe:

Therefore, brethren, we were comforted over you in all our affliction and distress by your faith:

For this cause, brothers, we were comforted over you in all our distress and affliction through your faith.

Car maintenant nous vivons, puisque vous demeurez fermes dans le Seigneur.

Porque ahora vivimos, si vosotros estáis firmes en el Señor.

For now we live, if ye stand fast in the Lord.

Aussi, quelles actions de grâces pouvons-nous rendre à Dieu pour vous, dans la joie parfaite que nous éprouvons à cause de vous devant notre Dieu !

Por lo cual, ¿qué hacimiento de gracias podremos dar á Dios por vosotros, por todo el gozo con que nos gozamos á causa de vosotros delante de nuestro Dios,

For what thanks can we render to God again for you, for all the joy wherewith we joy for your sakes before our God;

For what thanksgiving can we give again to God for you, for all the joy with which we rejoice for your sakes before our God,

Nuit et jour nous le prions avec une ardeur extrême de nous donner de vous voir, et de compléter ce qui manque encore à votre foi.

Orando de noche y de día con grande instancia, que veamos vuestro rostro, y que cumplamos lo que falta á vuestra fe?

Night and day praying exceedingly that we might see your face, and might perfect that which is lacking in your faith?

Puisse Dieu lui-même, notre Père, et notre Seigneur Jésus-(Christ) aplanir notre route vers vous !

Mas el mismo Dios y Padre nuestro, y el Señor nuestro Jesucristo, encamine nuestro viaje á vosotros.

Now God himself and our Father, and our Lord Jesus Christ, direct our way unto you.

Et vous, puisse le Seigneur faire croître et abonder votre charité les uns envers les autres et envers tous les hommes, telle qu'est la nôtre envers vous.

Y á vosotros multiplique el Señor, y haga abundar el amor entre vosotros, y para con todos, como es también de nosotros para con vosotros;

And the Lord make you to increase and abound in love one toward another, and toward all men, even as we do toward you:

Qu'il affermisse vos cœurs, qu'il les rende irréprochables en sainteté devant notre Dieu et Père, au jour où notre Seigneur Jésus viendra avec tous ses saints ! Amen

Para que sean confirmados vuestros corazones en santidad, irreprensibles delante de Dios y nuestro Padre, para la venida de nuestro Señor Jesucristo con todos sus santos.

To the end he may stablish your hearts unblameable in holiness before God, even our Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints.
