C’est pourquoi ne pouvant plus soutenir la privation de vos nouvelles nous avons trouvé bon de demeurer seuls à Athènes.

POR lo cual, no pudiendo esperar más, acordamos quedarnos solos en Atenas,

Wherefore when we could no longer forbear, we thought it good to be left at Athens alone;

Therefore when we couldn’t stand it any longer, we thought it good to be left behind at Athens alone,

Et nous avons envoyé Timothée, notre frère, Ministre de Dieu, et notre compagnon d’oeuvre en l’Evangile de Christ, pour vous affermir, et vous exhorter touchant votre foi.

Y enviamos á Timoteo, nuestro hermano, y ministro de Dios, y colaborador nuestro en el evangelio de Cristo, á confirmaros y exhortaros en vuestra fe,

And sent Timotheus, our brother, and minister of God, and our fellowlabourer in the gospel of Christ, to establish you, and to comfort you concerning your faith:

and sent Timothy, our brother and God’s servant in the Good News of Christ, to establish you and to comfort you concerning your faith,

Afin que nul ne soit troublé dans ces afflictions, puisque vous savez vous-mêmes que nous sommes destinés à cela.

Para que nadie se conmueva por estas tribulaciones; porque vosotros sabéis que nosotros somos puestos para esto.

That no man should be moved by these afflictions: for yourselves know that we are appointed thereunto.

that no one would be moved by these afflictions. For you know that we are appointed to this task.

Car quand nous étions avec vous, nous vous prédisions que nous aurions à souffrir des afflictions ; comme cela est aussi arrivé, et vous le savez.

Que aun estando con vosotros, os predecíamos que habíamos de pasar tribulaciones, como ha acontecido y sabéis.

For verily, when we were with you, we told you before that we should suffer tribulation; even as it came to pass, and ye know.

For most certainly, when we were with you, we told you beforehand that we are to suffer affliction, even as it happened, and you know.

C’est pourquoi, dis-je, ne pouvant plus soutenir cette inquiétude j’ai envoyé Timothée pour reconnaître l’état de votre foi, de peur que celui qui tente, ne vous eût tentés en quelque sorte, et que notre travail ne fût rendu inutile.

Por lo cual, también yo, no esperando más, he enviado á reconocer vuestra fe, no sea que os haya tentado el tentador, y que nuestro trabajo haya sido en vano.

For this cause, when I could no longer forbear, I sent to know your faith, lest by some means the tempter have tempted you, and our labour be in vain.

For this cause I also, when I couldn’t stand it any longer, sent that I might know your faith, for fear that by any means the tempter had tempted you, and our labor would have been in vain.

Or Timothée étant revenu depuis peu de chez vous, il nous a apporté d’agréables nouvelles de votre foi et de votre charité, et que vous vous souvenez toujours de nous, désirant fort de nous voir, comme nous aussi nous désirons de vous voir.

Empero volviendo de vosotros á nosotros Timoteo, y haciéndonos saber vuestra fe y caridad, y que siempre tenéis buena memoria de nosotros, deseando vernos, como también nosotros á vosotros,

But now when Timotheus came from you unto us, and brought us good tidings of your faith and charity, and that ye have good remembrance of us always, desiring greatly to see us, as we also to see you:

But Timothy has just now come to us from you, and brought us glad news of your faith and love, and that you have good memories of us always, longing to see us, even as we also long to see you.

C’est pourquoi, mes frères, vous nous avez été en grande consolation à cause de votre foi, dans toute notre affliction, et dans notre nécessité.

En ello, hermanos, recibimos consolación de vosotros en toda nuestra necesidad y aflicción por causa de vuestra fe:

Therefore, brethren, we were comforted over you in all our affliction and distress by your faith:

For this cause, brothers, we were comforted over you in all our distress and affliction through your faith.

Car maintenant nous vivons, si vous vous tenez fermes au Seigneur.

Porque ahora vivimos, si vosotros estáis firmes en el Señor.

For now we live, if ye stand fast in the Lord.

For now we live, if you stand fast in the Lord.

Et quelles actions de grâces n’avons-nous point à rendre à Dieu à cause de vous, pour toute la joie que nous recevons de vous, devant notre Dieu ;

Por lo cual, ¿qué hacimiento de gracias podremos dar á Dios por vosotros, por todo el gozo con que nos gozamos á causa de vosotros delante de nuestro Dios,

For what thanks can we render to God again for you, for all the joy wherewith we joy for your sakes before our God;

For what thanksgiving can we give again to God for you, for all the joy with which we rejoice for your sakes before our God,

Le priant jour et nuit de plus en plus que nous puissions vous revoir, afin de suppléer à ce qui manque à votre foi ?

Orando de noche y de día con grande instancia, que veamos vuestro rostro, y que cumplamos lo que falta á vuestra fe?

Night and day praying exceedingly that we might see your face, and might perfect that which is lacking in your faith?

night and day praying exceedingly that we may see your face and may perfect that which is lacking in your faith?

Or notre Dieu et notre Père, et notre Seigneur Jésus-Christ, veuillent nous ouvrir le chemin pour nous rendre auprès de vous.

Mas el mismo Dios y Padre nuestro, y el Señor nuestro Jesucristo, encamine nuestro viaje á vosotros.

Now God himself and our Father, and our Lord Jesus Christ, direct our way unto you.

Now may our God and Father himself, and our Lord Jesus Christ, direct our way to you.

Et le Seigneur vous fasse croître et abonder de plus en plus en charité les uns envers les autres, et envers tous, comme nous abondons aussi en charité envers vous ;

Y á vosotros multiplique el Señor, y haga abundar el amor entre vosotros, y para con todos, como es también de nosotros para con vosotros;

And the Lord make you to increase and abound in love one toward another, and toward all men, even as we do toward you:

May the Lord make you to increase and abound in love toward one another and toward all men, even as we also do toward you,

Pour affermir vos coeurs sans reproche en sainteté, devant Dieu qui est notre Père, à la venue de notre Seigneur Jésus-Christ, accompagné de tous ses Saints.

Para que sean confirmados vuestros corazones en santidad, irreprensibles delante de Dios y nuestro Padre, para la venida de nuestro Señor Jesucristo con todos sus santos.

To the end he may stablish your hearts unblameable in holiness before God, even our Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints.

to the end he may establish your hearts blameless in holiness before our God and Father at the coming of our Lord Jesus with all his saints.
