Darum, weil wir es nicht länger aushielten, zogen wir vor, allein in Athen zu bleiben;

POR lo cual, no pudiendo esperar más, acordamos quedarnos solos en Atenas,

Wherefore when we could no longer forbear, we thought it good to be left at Athens alone;

Therefore when we couldn’t stand it any longer, we thought it good to be left behind at Athens alone,

und sandten Timotheus, unsren Bruder, der Gottes Diener und unser Mitarbeiter am Evangelium ist, daß er euch stärke und ermahne in betreff eures Glaubens,

Y enviamos á Timoteo, nuestro hermano, y ministro de Dios, y colaborador nuestro en el evangelio de Cristo, á confirmaros y exhortaros en vuestra fe,

And sent Timotheus, our brother, and minister of God, and our fellowlabourer in the gospel of Christ, to establish you, and to comfort you concerning your faith:

and sent Timothy, our brother and God’s servant in the Good News of Christ, to establish you and to comfort you concerning your faith,

damit niemand wankend werde in diesen Trübsalen; denn ihr wisset selbst, daß wir dazu bestimmt sind.

Para que nadie se conmueva por estas tribulaciones; porque vosotros sabéis que nosotros somos puestos para esto.

That no man should be moved by these afflictions: for yourselves know that we are appointed thereunto.

that no one would be moved by these afflictions. For you know that we are appointed to this task.

Denn als wir bei euch waren, sagten wir euch voraus, daß wir Trübsale würden leiden müssen, wie es auch gekommen ist und ihr wisset.

Que aun estando con vosotros, os predecíamos que habíamos de pasar tribulaciones, como ha acontecido y sabéis.

For verily, when we were with you, we told you before that we should suffer tribulation; even as it came to pass, and ye know.

For most certainly, when we were with you, we told you beforehand that we are to suffer affliction, even as it happened, and you know.

Darum hielt ich es auch nicht mehr länger aus, sondern ließ mich nach eurem Glauben erkundigen, ob nicht etwa der Versucher euch versucht habe und unsre Arbeit umsonst gewesen sei.

Por lo cual, también yo, no esperando más, he enviado á reconocer vuestra fe, no sea que os haya tentado el tentador, y que nuestro trabajo haya sido en vano.

For this cause, when I could no longer forbear, I sent to know your faith, lest by some means the tempter have tempted you, and our labour be in vain.

For this cause I also, when I couldn’t stand it any longer, sent that I might know your faith, for fear that by any means the tempter had tempted you, and our labor would have been in vain.

Nun aber, da Timotheus von euch zu uns zurückgekehrt ist und uns gute Nachricht gebracht hat von eurem Glauben und eurer Liebe, und daß ihr uns allezeit in gutem Andenken habet und darnach verlanget, uns zu sehen, gleichwie wir euch,

Empero volviendo de vosotros á nosotros Timoteo, y haciéndonos saber vuestra fe y caridad, y que siempre tenéis buena memoria de nosotros, deseando vernos, como también nosotros á vosotros,

But now when Timotheus came from you unto us, and brought us good tidings of your faith and charity, and that ye have good remembrance of us always, desiring greatly to see us, as we also to see you:

But Timothy has just now come to us from you, and brought us glad news of your faith and love, and that you have good memories of us always, longing to see us, even as we also long to see you.

da sind wir deshalb, ihr Brüder, eurethalben bei all unserer Not und Trübsal getröstet worden, durch euren Glauben!

En ello, hermanos, recibimos consolación de vosotros en toda nuestra necesidad y aflicción por causa de vuestra fe:

Therefore, brethren, we were comforted over you in all our affliction and distress by your faith:

For this cause, brothers, we were comforted over you in all our distress and affliction through your faith.

Denn nun leben wir, wenn ihr feststehet im Herrn.

Porque ahora vivimos, si vosotros estáis firmes en el Señor.

For now we live, if ye stand fast in the Lord.

Denn was können wir Gott für einen Dank abstatten für euch ob all der Freude, die wir euretwegen genießen vor unserm Gott?

Por lo cual, ¿qué hacimiento de gracias podremos dar á Dios por vosotros, por todo el gozo con que nos gozamos á causa de vosotros delante de nuestro Dios,

For what thanks can we render to God again for you, for all the joy wherewith we joy for your sakes before our God;

For what thanksgiving can we give again to God for you, for all the joy with which we rejoice for your sakes before our God,

Tag und Nacht flehen wir aufs allerdringendste, euer Angesicht sehen und die Mängel eures Glaubens ergänzen zu dürfen.

Orando de noche y de día con grande instancia, que veamos vuestro rostro, y que cumplamos lo que falta á vuestra fe?

Night and day praying exceedingly that we might see your face, and might perfect that which is lacking in your faith?

Er selbst aber, Gott unser Vater und unser Herr Jesus, lenke unsren Weg zu euch!

Mas el mismo Dios y Padre nuestro, y el Señor nuestro Jesucristo, encamine nuestro viaje á vosotros.

Now God himself and our Father, and our Lord Jesus Christ, direct our way unto you.

Now may our God and Father himself, and our Lord Jesus Christ, direct our way to you.

Euch aber möge der Herr voll und überströmend machen in der Liebe zueinander und zu allen, gleichwie auch wir sie haben zu euch,

Y á vosotros multiplique el Señor, y haga abundar el amor entre vosotros, y para con todos, como es también de nosotros para con vosotros;

And the Lord make you to increase and abound in love one toward another, and toward all men, even as we do toward you:

auf daß eure Herzen gestärkt und untadelig erfunden werden in Heiligkeit vor unsrem Gott und Vater bei der Wiederkunft unsres Herrn Jesus mit allen seinen Heiligen.

Para que sean confirmados vuestros corazones en santidad, irreprensibles delante de Dios y nuestro Padre, para la venida de nuestro Señor Jesucristo con todos sus santos.

To the end he may stablish your hearts unblameable in holiness before God, even our Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints.
