y enviarles a Timoteo. Él es nuestro hermano y compañero en la obra de Dios y en la predicación de la buena nueva de Cristo. Lo enviamos para fortalecerlos y animarlos en su fe en Dios
Y enviamos á Timoteo, nuestro hermano, y ministro de Dios, y colaborador nuestro en el evangelio de Cristo, á confirmaros y exhortaros en vuestra fe,
And sent Timotheus, our brother, and minister of God, and our fellowlabourer in the gospel of Christ, to establish you, and to comfort you concerning your faith:

para que ninguno de ustedes sufriera descontento por las dificultades, pues ustedes saben que hemos de esperar tales cosas.
Para que nadie se conmueva por estas tribulaciones; porque vosotros sabéis que nosotros somos puestos para esto.
That no man should be moved by these afflictions: for yourselves know that we are appointed thereunto.

Incluso mientras estuvimos con ustedes, siempre les advertíamos que pronto sufriríamos persecución y ustedes saben bien que eso es exactamente lo que ha sucedido.
Que aun estando con vosotros, os predecíamos que habíamos de pasar tribulaciones, como ha acontecido y sabéis.
For verily, when we were with you, we told you before that we should suffer tribulation; even as it came to pass, and ye know.
For most certainly, when we were with you, we told you beforehand that we are to suffer affliction, even as it happened, and you know.
Es por eso que, cuando no pude soportar más, mandé a preguntar si ustedes todavía tenían fe en Dios. Pues estaba preocupado de que el diablo hubiera tenido éxito en tentarlos y que nuestra obra hubiera sido en vano.
Por lo cual, también yo, no esperando más, he enviado á reconocer vuestra fe, no sea que os haya tentado el tentador, y que nuestro trabajo haya sido en vano.
For this cause, when I could no longer forbear, I sent to know your faith, lest by some means the tempter have tempted you, and our labour be in vain.
For this cause I also, when I couldn’t stand it any longer, sent that I might know your faith, for fear that by any means the tempter had tempted you, and our labor would have been in vain.
Ahora Timoteo ha vuelto después de haberlos visitado, y nos ha traído buenas noticias sobre su fe en Dios y el amor que tienen. Nos ha dicho que aún tienen recuerdos gratos de nosotros, y que anhelan vernos así como nosotros deseamos verlos a ustedes.
Empero volviendo de vosotros á nosotros Timoteo, y haciéndonos saber vuestra fe y caridad, y que siempre tenéis buena memoria de nosotros, deseando vernos, como también nosotros á vosotros,
But now when Timotheus came from you unto us, and brought us good tidings of your faith and charity, and that ye have good remembrance of us always, desiring greatly to see us, as we also to see you:
But Timothy has just now come to us from you, and brought us glad news of your faith and love, and that you have good memories of us always, longing to see us, even as we also long to see you.
Esto realmente nos ha animado en nuestros propios momentos de dificultad, hermanos y hermanas, sabiendo que ustedes siguen aferrándose a su fe en Dios.
En ello, hermanos, recibimos consolación de vosotros en toda nuestra necesidad y aflicción por causa de vuestra fe:
Therefore, brethren, we were comforted over you in all our affliction and distress by your faith:
For this cause, brothers, we were comforted over you in all our distress and affliction through your faith.
Para nosotros, la vida vale la pena porque ustedes están firmes en el Señor.
Porque ahora vivimos, si vosotros estáis firmes en el Señor.

Al ir a la presencia de Dios no tenemos palabras suficientes para agradecerle por toda la alegría que ustedes nos causan.
Por lo cual, ¿qué hacimiento de gracias podremos dar á Dios por vosotros, por todo el gozo con que nos gozamos á causa de vosotros delante de nuestro Dios,
For what thanks can we render to God again for you, for all the joy wherewith we joy for your sakes before our God;
For what thanksgiving can we give again to God for you, for all the joy with which we rejoice for your sakes before our God,
Día y noche oramos de corazón, esperando verlos nuevamente cara a cara, y ayudarlos a seguir desarrollando su fe en Dios.
Orando de noche y de día con grande instancia, que veamos vuestro rostro, y que cumplamos lo que falta á vuestra fe?
Night and day praying exceedingly that we might see your face, and might perfect that which is lacking in your faith?

Quiera nuestro Padre y nuestro Señor Jesús permitir que podamos ir a verlos pronto.

Que el Señor aumente el amor que se tienen los unos hacia los otros, y hacia todos los demás, hasta que sobreabunde, así como nosotros los amamos a ustedes.

Y que así el Señor pueda fortalecerlos para que puedan estar firmes y con pensamientos santos y sin mancha ante nuestro Dios y Padre en la venida de nuestro Señor Jesús, con todos sus santos.
Para que sean confirmados vuestros corazones en santidad, irreprensibles delante de Dios y nuestro Padre, para la venida de nuestro Señor Jesucristo con todos sus santos.
To the end he may stablish your hearts unblameable in holiness before God, even our Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints.
