Von der brüderlichen Liebe aber ist nicht not, euch zu schreiben; denn ihr seid selbst von Gott gelehret euch untereinander zu lieben.

RESTA pues, hermanos, que os roguemos y exhortemos en el Señor Jesús, que de la manera que fuisteis enseñados de nosotros de cómo os conviene andar, y agradar á Dios, así vayáis creciendo.

Furthermore then we beseech you, brethren, and exhort you by the Lord Jesus, that as ye have received of us how ye ought to walk and to please God, so ye would abound more and more.

Finally then, brothers, we beg and exhort you in the Lord Jesus, that as you received from us how you ought to walk and to please God, that you abound more and more.

Und das tut ihr auch an allen Brüdern, die in ganz Mazedonien sind. Wir ermahnen euch aber, liebe Brüder, daß ihr noch völliger werdet.

Porque ya sabéis qué mandamientos os dimos por el Señor Jesús.

For ye know what commandments we gave you by the Lord Jesus.

For you know what instructions we gave you through the Lord Jesus.

Und ringet danach, daß ihr stille seid und das Eure schaffet und arbeitet mit euren eigenen Händen, wie wir euch geboten haben,

Porque la voluntad de Dios es vuestra santificación: que os apartéis de fornicación;

For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication:

For this is the will of God: your sanctification, that you abstain from sexual immorality,

auf daß ihr ehrbarlich wandelt gegen die, die draußen sind, und ihrer keines bedürfet.

Que cada uno de vosotros sepa tener su vaso en santificación y honor;

That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honour;

that each one of you know how to control his own body in sanctification and honor,

Wir wollen euch aber, liebe Brüder, nicht verhalten von denen, die da schlafen, auf daß ihr nicht traurig seid wie die andern, die keine Hoffnung haben.

No con afecto de concupiscencia, como los Gentiles que no conocen á Dios:

Not in the lust of concupiscence, even as the Gentiles which know not God:

not in the passion of lust, even as the Gentiles who don’t know God,

Denn so wir glauben, daß Jesus gestorben und auferstanden ist, also wird Gott auch, die da entschlafen sind durch Jesum, mit ihm führen.

Que ninguno oprima, ni engañe en nada á su hermano: porque el Señor es vengador de todo esto, como ya os hemos dicho y protestado.

That no man go beyond and defraud his brother in any matter: because that the Lord is the avenger of all such, as we also have forewarned you and testified.

that no one should take advantage of and wrong a brother or sister in this matter; because the Lord is an avenger in all these things, as also we forewarned you and testified.

Denn das sagen wir euch als ein Wort des HERRN, daß wir, die wir leben und überbleiben in der Zukunft des HERRN, werden denen nicht zuvorkommen, die da schlafen

Porque no nos ha llamado Dios á inmundicia, sino á santificación.

For God hath not called us unto uncleanness, but unto holiness.

For God called us not for uncleanness, but in sanctification.

Denn er selbst, der HERR, wird mit einem Feldgeschrei und Stimme des Erzengels und mit der Posaune Gottes herniederkommen vom Himmel, und die Toten in Christo werden auferstehen zuerst.

Así que, el que menosprecia, no menosprecia á hombre, sino á Dios, el cual también nos dió su Espíritu Santo.

He therefore that despiseth, despiseth not man, but God, who hath also given unto us his holy Spirit.

Therefore he who rejects this doesn’t reject man, but God, who has also given his Holy Spirit to you.

Danach wir, die wir leben und überbleiben, werden zugleich mit denselbigen hingerückt werden in den Wolken dem HERRN entgegen in der Luft; und werden also bei dem HERRN sein allezeit.

Mas acerca de la caridad fraterna no habéis menester que os escriba: porque vosotros mismos habéis aprendido de Dios que os améis los unos á los otros;

But as touching brotherly love ye need not that I write unto you: for ye yourselves are taught of God to love one another.

But concerning brotherly love, you have no need that one write to you. For you yourselves are taught by God to love one another,

So tröstet euch nun mit diesen Worten untereinander!

Y también lo hacéis así con todos los hermanos que están por toda Macedonia. Empero os rogamos, hermanos, que abundéis más;

And indeed ye do it toward all the brethren which are in all Macedonia: but we beseech you, brethren, that ye increase more and more;

for indeed you do it toward all the brothers who are in all Macedonia. But we exhort you, brothers, that you abound more and more;

Von den Zeiten aber und Stunden, liebe Brüder, ist nicht not, euch zu schreiben.

Y que procuréis tener quietud, y hacer vuestros negocios, y obréis de vuestras manos de la manera que os hemos mandado;

And that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you;

and that you make it your ambition to lead a quiet life, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, even as we instructed you,

Denn ihr selbst wisset gewiß, daß der Tag des HERRN wird kommen wie ein Dieb in der Nacht.

A fin de que andéis honestamente para con los extraños, y no necesitéis de nada.

That ye may walk honestly toward them that are without, and that ye may have lack of nothing.

that you may walk properly toward those who are outside, and may have need of nothing.

Denn wenn sie werden sagen: Es ist Friede, es hat keine Gefahr! so wird sie das Verderben schnell überfallen, gleich wie der Schmerz ein schwanger Weib, und werden nicht entfliehen.

Tampoco, hermanos, queremos que ignoréis acerca de los que duermen, que no os entristezcáis como los otros que no tienen esperanza.

But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.

But we don’t want you to be ignorant, brothers, concerning those who have fallen asleep, so that you don’t grieve like the rest, who have no hope.

Ihr aber, liebe Brüder, seid nicht in der Finsternis, daß euch der Tag wie ein Dieb ergreife.

Porque si creemos que Jesús murió y resucitó, así también traerá Dios con él á los que durmieron en Jesús.

For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.

For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep in Jesus.

Ihr seid allzumal Kinder des Lichts und Kinder des Tages; wir sind nicht von der Nacht noch von der Finsternis.

Por lo cual, os decimos esto en palabra del Señor: que nosotros que vivimos, que habremos quedado hasta la venida del Señor, no seremos delanteros á los que durmieron.

For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.

For this we tell you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will in no way precede those who have fallen asleep.

So lasset uns nun nicht schlafen wie die andern, sondern lasset uns wachen und nüchtern sein.

Porque el mismo Señor con aclamación, con voz de arcángel, y con trompeta de Dios, descenderá del cielo; y los muertos en Cristo resucitarán primero:

For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with God’s trumpet. The dead in Christ will rise first,

Denn die da schlafen, die schlafen des Nachts, und die da trunken sind, die sind des Nachts trunken.

Luego nosotros, los que vivimos, los que quedamos, juntamente con ellos seremos arrebatados en las nubes á recibir al Señor en el aire, y así estaremos siempre con el Señor.

Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. So we will be with the Lord forever.

Wir aber, die wir des Tages sind, sollen nüchtern sein, angetan mit dem Krebs des Glaubens und der Liebe und mit dem Helm der Hoffnung zur Seligkeit.

Por tanto, consolaos los unos á los otros en estas palabras.
