E ainda quero acrescentar isto, irmãos: Vocês já sabem como agradar a Deus em sua vida diária, pois conhecem as determinações que lhes demos da parte do próprio Senhor Jesus. Agora nós lhes suplicamos — sim, exortamos a vocês em nome do Senhor Jesus — que vivam cada vez mais próximos daquele ideal.
RESTA pues, hermanos, que os roguemos y exhortemos en el Señor Jesús, que de la manera que fuisteis enseñados de nosotros de cómo os conviene andar, y agradar á Dios, así vayáis creciendo.
Furthermore then we beseech you, brethren, and exhort you by the Lord Jesus, that as ye have received of us how ye ought to walk and to please God, so ye would abound more and more.
Finally then, brothers, we beg and exhort you in the Lord Jesus, that as you received from us how you ought to walk and to please God, that you abound more and more.
Porque vocês conhecem os mandamentos que lhes demos pela autoridade do Senhor Jesus.
Porque ya sabéis qué mandamientos os dimos por el Señor Jesús.
For ye know what commandments we gave you by the Lord Jesus.
For you know what instructions we gave you through the Lord Jesus.
Deus deseja que vocês sejam santos e puros, e se conservem afastados de todo pecado sexual,
Porque la voluntad de Dios es vuestra santificación: que os apartéis de fornicación;
For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication:
For this is the will of God: your sanctification, that you abstain from sexual immorality,
a fim de que cada um de vocês saiba controlar o seu próprio corpo em santificação e honra,
Que cada uno de vosotros sepa tener su vaso en santificación y honor;
That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honour;
that each one of you know how to control his own body in sanctification and honor,
não dominado pela paixão carnal e por desejos desenfreados, como fazem os pagãos, na sua ignorância de Deus e de seus caminhos.
No con afecto de concupiscencia, como los Gentiles que no conocen á Dios:
Not in the lust of concupiscence, even as the Gentiles which know not God:
not in the passion of lust, even as the Gentiles who don’t know God,
E esta é também a vontade de Deus: Que neste assunto nenhum de vocês se aproveite de seu irmão, porque o Senhor os castigará por estas práticas, como nós antes já os advertimos severamente.
Que ninguno oprima, ni engañe en nada á su hermano: porque el Señor es vengador de todo esto, como ya os hemos dicho y protestado.
That no man go beyond and defraud his brother in any matter: because that the Lord is the avenger of all such, as we also have forewarned you and testified.
that no one should take advantage of and wrong a brother or sister in this matter; because the Lord is an avenger in all these things, as also we forewarned you and testified.
Porque Deus não nos chamou para vivermos na impureza nem cheios de imoralidade, mas para sermos santos e puros.
Porque no nos ha llamado Dios á inmundicia, sino á santificación.
For God hath not called us unto uncleanness, but unto holiness.
For God called us not for uncleanness, but in sanctification.
Se alguém se recusar a viver de acordo com estes mandamentos, não estará desobedecendo às leis dos homens, mas de Deus, que dá o seu Santo Espírito a vocês.
Así que, el que menosprecia, no menosprecia á hombre, sino á Dios, el cual también nos dió su Espíritu Santo.
He therefore that despiseth, despiseth not man, but God, who hath also given unto us his holy Spirit.
Therefore he who rejects this doesn’t reject man, but God, who has also given his Holy Spirit to you.
Mas, quanto ao amor fraternal puro que deve existir entre o povo de Deus, eu não preciso falar muito, porque o próprio Deus está ensinando vocês a se amarem uns aos outros.
Mas acerca de la caridad fraterna no habéis menester que os escriba: porque vosotros mismos habéis aprendido de Dios que os améis los unos á los otros;
But as touching brotherly love ye need not that I write unto you: for ye yourselves are taught of God to love one another.
But concerning brotherly love, you have no need that one write to you. For you yourselves are taught by God to love one another,
Na verdade, já é forte o amor que vocês têm por todos os irmãos em Cristo em toda a Macedônia. Mesmo assim, amigos, nós lhes rogamos que amem cada vez mais.
Y también lo hacéis así con todos los hermanos que están por toda Macedonia. Empero os rogamos, hermanos, que abundéis más;
And indeed ye do it toward all the brethren which are in all Macedonia: but we beseech you, brethren, that ye increase more and more;
for indeed you do it toward all the brothers who are in all Macedonia. But we exhort you, brothers, that you abound more and more;
Esta deve ser a ambição de vocês — esforçar-se para levar uma vida tranquila, se importando com seus próprios negócios e fazendo seu próprio trabalho, tal como já lhes instruímos anteriormente.
Y que procuréis tener quietud, y hacer vuestros negocios, y obréis de vuestras manos de la manera que os hemos mandado;
And that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you;
and that you make it your ambition to lead a quiet life, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, even as we instructed you,
Como resultado, as pessoas de fora da igreja vão confiar em vocês e respeitá-los, e vocês não precisarão viver à custa dos outros.
A fin de que andéis honestamente para con los extraños, y no necesitéis de nada.
That ye may walk honestly toward them that are without, and that ye may have lack of nothing.
that you may walk properly toward those who are outside, and may have need of nothing.
E agora, irmãos, quero que vocês saibam o que sucede a um fiel quando ele morre, para que não fiquem cheios de tristeza como aqueles que não têm esperança.
Tampoco, hermanos, queremos que ignoréis acerca de los que duermen, que no os entristezcáis como los otros que no tienen esperanza.
But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.
But we don’t want you to be ignorant, brothers, concerning those who have fallen asleep, so that you don’t grieve like the rest, who have no hope.
Visto que nós cremos que Jesus morreu e depois voltou à vida, podemos também crer que, quando Jesus voltar, Deus trará de volta com ele todos os irmãos que já morreram.
Porque si creemos que Jesús murió y resucitó, así también traerá Dios con él á los que durmieron en Jesús.
For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep in Jesus.
Posso dizer-lhes, diretamente do Senhor, que nós, os que ainda estivermos vivos quando o Senhor voltar, não subiremos para encontrá-lo antes daqueles que já morreram.
Por lo cual, os decimos esto en palabra del Señor: que nosotros que vivimos, que habremos quedado hasta la venida del Señor, no seremos delanteros á los que durmieron.
For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
For this we tell you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will in no way precede those who have fallen asleep.
Pois o próprio Senhor descerá do céu com um potente clamor, com o brado do arcanjo e com o toque da trombeta de Deus, e o Senhor descerá dos céus, e os mortos em Cristo ressuscitarão primeiro.
Porque el mismo Señor con aclamación, con voz de arcángel, y con trompeta de Dios, descenderá del cielo; y los muertos en Cristo resucitarán primero:
For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

Então nós, os que ainda estivermos vivos, seremos arrebatados até eles nas nuvens, a fim de nos encontrarmos com o Senhor nos ares e ficarmos com ele para sempre.
Luego nosotros, los que vivimos, los que quedamos, juntamente con ellos seremos arrebatados en las nubes á recibir al Señor en el aire, y así estaremos siempre con el Señor.
Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. So we will be with the Lord forever.
Portanto, confortem-se e encorajem-se mutuamente com essas palavras.
