1Mas irmãos, acerca dos tempos e das estações, não necessitais de que eu vos escreva;
2pois vós mesmos bem sabeis que o dia do Senhor virá como um ladrão de noite.
3Pois quando disserem: “Paz e segurança”, então virá sobre eles repentina destruição, como as dores de parto da grávida, e de maneira nenhuma escaparão.
4Mas vós, irmãos, não estais em trevas, para que aquele dia vos tome de surpresa como um ladrão.
5Todos vós sois filhos da luz e filhos do dia; não somos da noite nem das trevas.
6Portanto, não durmamos, como os outros; em vez disso, vigiemos e sejamos sóbrios.
7Pois os que dormem, dormem de noite; e os que ficam bêbados embebedam-se de noite.
8Mas nós, que somos do dia, sejamos sóbrios, e nos vistamos da couraça da fé e do amor, e do capacete da esperança da salvação.
9Porque Deus não nos destinou para a ira, mas, sim, para obtermos a salvação, por meio do nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo,
10que morreu por nós, a fim de que, se estivermos vigiando ou dormindo, nós vivamos juntamente com ele.
11Portanto exortai-vos uns aos outros, e edificai-vos uns aos outros, como já fazeis.
12Irmãos, nós vos rogamos que reconheçais os que trabalham entre vós, e que lideram sobre vós no Senhor, e vos advertem;
13e os estimai muito com amor, por causa do trabalho deles. Tende paz entre vós.
14Rogamo-vos também, irmãos, que advirtais os desordeiros, consoleis os de pouco ânimo, apoieis aos fracos, e tenhais paciência com todos.
15Tende cuidado para que ninguém retribua o mal com o mal, mas sempre segui o bem, tanto uns com os outros, como com todos.
16Alegrai-vos sempre.
17Orai sem cessar.
18Agradecei em tudo, pois essa é a vontade de Deus em Cristo Jesus para vós mesmos.
19Não apagueis o Espírito.
20Não desprezeis as profecias.
21Examinai tudo, e mantende o que é bom.
22Não haja entre vós qualquer forma de mal.
23E o próprio Deus da paz vos santifique em tudo; e que todo o vosso espírito, alma e corpo sejam preservados irrepreensíveis na vinda do nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo.
24Fiel é aquele que vos chama, e ele também o fará.
25Irmãos, orai por nós.
26Saudai a todos os irmãos com beijo santo.
27Eu vos mando pelo Senhor que esta carta seja lida a todos os santos irmãos.
28A graça de nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo seja convosco. Amém. A primeira carta aos tessalonicenses foi escrita de Atenas

1EMPERO acerca de los tiempos y de los momentos, no tenéis, hermanos, necesidad de que yo os escriba:
2Porque vosotros sabéis bien, que el día del Señor vendrá así como ladrón de noche,
3Que cuando dirán, Paz y seguridad, entonces vendrá sobre ellos destrucción de repente, como los dolores á la mujer preñada; y no escaparán.
4Mas vosotros, hermanos, no estáis en tinieblas, para que aquel día os sobrecoja como ladrón;
5Porque todos vosotros sois hijos de luz, é hijos del día; no somos de la noche, ni de las tinieblas.
6Por tanto, no durmamos como los demás; antes velemos y seamos sobrios.
7Porque los que duermen, de noche duermen; y los que están borrachos, de noche están borrachos.
8Mas nosotros, que somos del día, estemos sobrios, vestidos de cota de fe y de caridad, y la esperanza de salud por yelmo.
9Porque no nos ha puesto Dios para ira, sino para alcanzar salud por nuestro Señor Jesucristo;
10El cual murió por nosotros, para que ó que velemos, ó que durmamos, vivamos juntamente con él.
11Por lo cual, consolaos los unos á los otros, y edificaos los unos á los otros, así como lo hacéis.
12Y os rogamos, hermanos, que reconozcáis á los que trabajan entre vosotros, y os presiden en el Señor, y os amonestan:
13Y que los tengáis en mucha estima por amor de su obra. Tened paz los unos con los otros.
14También os rogamos, hermanos, que amonestéis á los que andan desordenadamente, que consoléis á los de poco ánimo, que soportéis á los flacos, que seáis sufridos para con todos.
15Mirad que ninguno dé á otro mal por mal; antes seguid lo bueno siempre los unos para con los otros, y para con todos.
16Estad siempre gozosos.
17Orad sin cesar.
18Dad gracias en todo; porque esta es la voluntad de Dios para con vosotros en Cristo Jesús.
19No apaguéis el Espíritu.
20No menospreciéis las profecías.
21Examinadlo todo; retened lo bueno.
22Apartaos de toda especie de mal.
23Y el Dios de paz os santifique en todo; para que vuestro espíritu y alma y cuerpo sea guardado entero sin reprensión para la venida de nuestro Señor Jesucristo.
24Fiel es el que os ha llamado; el cual también lo hará.
25Hermanos, orad por nosotros.
26Saludad á todos los hermanos en ósculo santo.
27Conjúroos por el Señor, que esta carta sea leída á todos los santos hermanos.
28La gracia de nuestro Señor Jesucristo sea con vosotros. Amén. La primera epístola á los Tesalonicenses fué escrita de Atenas.

1But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you.
2For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.
3For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.
4But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.
5Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.
6Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.
7For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night.
8But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.
9For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,
10Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.
11Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.
12And we beseech you, brethren, to know them which labour among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you;
13And to esteem them very highly in love for their work’s sake. And be at peace among yourselves.
14Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men.
15See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men.
16Rejoice evermore.
17Pray without ceasing.
18In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
19Quench not the Spirit.
20Despise not prophesyings.
21Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.
22Abstain from all appearance of evil.
23And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
24Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.
25Brethren, pray for us.
26Greet all the brethren with an holy kiss.
27I charge you by the Lord that this epistle be read unto all the holy brethren.
28The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.
World English Bible
1But concerning the times and the seasons, brothers, you have no need that anything be written to you.
2For you yourselves know well that the day of the Lord comes like a thief in the night.
3For when they are saying, “Peace and safety,” then sudden destruction will come on them, like birth pains on a pregnant woman. Then they will in no way escape.
4But you, brothers, aren’t in darkness, that the day should overtake you like a thief.
5You are all children of light and children of the day. We don’t belong to the night, nor to darkness,
6so then let’s not sleep, as the rest do, but let’s watch and be sober.
7For those who sleep, sleep in the night; and those who are drunk are drunk in the night.
8But since we belong to the day, let’s be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and for a helmet, the hope of salvation.
9For God didn’t appoint us to wrath, but to the obtaining of salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ,
10who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.
11Therefore exhort one another, and build each other up, even as you also do.

14We exhort you, brothers: Admonish the disorderly; encourage the faint-hearted; support the weak; be patient toward all.
15See that no one returns evil for evil to anyone, but always follow after that which is good for one another and for all.
16Always rejoice.
17Pray without ceasing.
18In everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus toward you.
19Don’t quench the Spirit.
20Don’t despise prophecies.
21Test all things, and hold firmly that which is good.
22Abstain from every form of evil.
23May the God of peace himself sanctify you completely. May your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
24He who calls you is faithful, who will also do it.
25Brothers, pray for us.
26Greet all the brothers with a holy kiss.
27I solemnly command you by the Lord that this letter be read to all the holy brothers.
28The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.
