Quando é que tudo isso vai acontecer? Eu não preciso realmente dizer nada a esse respeito, irmãos,
EMPERO acerca de los tiempos y de los momentos, no tenéis, hermanos, necesidad de que yo os escriba:
But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you.
But concerning the times and the seasons, brothers, you have no need that anything be written to you.
porque vocês sabem muito bem que o dia do Senhor virá inesperadamente, como um ladrão de noite.
Porque vosotros sabéis bien, que el día del Señor vendrá así como ladrón de noche,
For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.
For you yourselves know well that the day of the Lord comes like a thief in the night.
Quando o povo estiver dizendo: “Vai tudo bem, está tudo calmo, está tudo em paz”, então, de repente, o desastre virá sobre eles, tão súbito como as dores de parto a uma mulher quando nasce o seu filho. E essa gente não poderá fugir para parte alguma — não haverá lugar onde se esconder.
Que cuando dirán, Paz y seguridad, entonces vendrá sobre ellos destrucción de repente, como los dolores á la mujer preñada; y no escaparán.
For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.
For when they are saying, “Peace and safety,” then sudden destruction will come on them, like birth pains on a pregnant woman. Then they will in no way escape.
Porém vocês, irmãos, não estão na escuridão a respeito destas coisas e não serão surpreendidos, como por um ladrão.
Mas vosotros, hermanos, no estáis en tinieblas, para que aquel día os sobrecoja como ladrón;
But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.
But you, brothers, aren’t in darkness, that the day should overtake you like a thief.
Porque todos vocês são filhos da luz e do dia e não pertencem à escuridão e à noite.
Porque todos vosotros sois hijos de luz, é hijos del día; no somos de la noche, ni de las tinieblas.
Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.
You are all children of light and children of the day. We don’t belong to the night, nor to darkness,
Estejam vigilantes e não adormecidos, como os outros. Estejam atentos à volta do Senhor e permaneçam sóbrios.
Por tanto, no durmamos como los demás; antes velemos y seamos sobrios.
Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.
so then let’s not sleep, as the rest do, but let’s watch and be sober.
À noite é que as pessoas dormem; à noite se embriagam.
Porque los que duermen, de noche duermen; y los que están borrachos, de noche están borrachos.
For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night.
For those who sleep, sleep in the night; and those who are drunk are drunk in the night.
Mas nós, que somos do dia, conservemo-nos sóbrios, protegidos com a couraça da fé e do amor e usando como nosso capacete a esperança da salvação.
Mas nosotros, que somos del día, estemos sobrios, vestidos de cota de fe y de caridad, y la esperanza de salud por yelmo.
But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.

Porque Deus não nos escolheu para derramar a sua ira sobre nós, mas para nos salvar por meio de nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo.

For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,

Ele morreu por nós, para que possamos viver com ele para sempre, estejamos vivos ou mortos na hora da sua volta.

Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.

Portanto, animem-se uns aos outros e edifiquem-se uns aos outros, tal como já estão fazendo.

Agora, pedimos a vocês, irmãos, honrem aqueles que trabalham incansavelmente entre vocês, os que foram escolhidos pelo Senhor para guiá-los e aconselhá-los.

And we beseech you, brethren, to know them which labour among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you;

Tenham grande consideração e respeito por eles, com amor, por causa do trabalho deles. Vivam em paz uns com os outros.
Y que los tengáis en mucha estima por amor de su obra. Tened paz los unos con los otros.
And to esteem them very highly in love for their work’s sake. And be at peace among yourselves.
and to respect and honor them in love for their work’s sake. Be at peace among yourselves.
Irmãos, admoestem aqueles que são preguiçosos ou rebeldes; confortem aqueles que estão atemorizados; tenham um carinhoso cuidado por aqueles que são fracos; e tenham paciência com todos.
También os rogamos, hermanos, que amonestéis á los que andan desordenadamente, que consoléis á los de poco ánimo, que soportéis á los flacos, que seáis sufridos para con todos.
Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men.
We exhort you, brothers: Admonish the disorderly; encourage the faint-hearted; support the weak; be patient toward all.
Cuidem que ninguém retribua mal por mal, mas procurem sempre fazer o bem uns aos outros e para todos.
Mirad que ninguno dé á otro mal por mal; antes seguid lo bueno siempre los unos para con los otros, y para con todos.
See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men.
See that no one returns evil for evil to anyone, but always follow after that which is good for one another and for all.
Estejam sempre alegres.

mas ponham à prova tudo e fiquem com o que é bom.
Examinadlo todo; retened lo bueno.

Afastem-se de toda espécie de mal.

Abstain from all appearance of evil.

Que o próprio Deus de paz faça vocês completamente puros, e que o espírito, a alma e o corpo de vocês sejam conservados irrepreensíveis até o dia quando nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo voltar.
Y el Dios de paz os santifique en todo; para que vuestro espíritu y alma y cuerpo sea guardado entero sin reprensión para la venida de nuestro Señor Jesucristo.
And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
