Pablo, un apóstol de Jesucristo, por el orden de Dios nuestro Salvador y él Señor Cristo Jesús nuestra esperanza;

Cuando me fui a Macedonia, deseaba que te quedaras en Efeso, para que dieras órdenes a ciertos hombres de no presentar una enseñanza diferente,

Como te rogué que te quedases en Efeso, cuando partí para Macedonia, para que requirieses á algunos que no enseñen diversa doctrina,

As I besought thee to abide still at Ephesus, when I went into Macedonia, that thou mightest charge some that they teach no other doctrine,

O prestar atención a historias y largas listas de generaciones, que hace que surjan cuestionamientos y dudas, y no ayudan a aceptar con fe él plan de Dios;

Ni presten atención á fábulas y genealogías sin término, que antes engendran cuestiones que la edificación de Dios que es por fe; así te encargo ahora.

Neither give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which minister questions, rather than godly edifying which is in faith: so do.

and not to pay attention to myths and endless genealogies, which cause disputes rather than God’s stewardship, which is in faith.

Pero el objetivo final de la orden es el amor que viene de un corazón limpio, y el conocimiento de lo que es correcto, y la verdadera fe:

Pues el fin del mandamiento es la caridad nacida de corazón limpio, y de buena conciencia, y de fe no fingida:

Now the end of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned:

But the goal of this command is love from a pure heart, a good conscience, and sincere faith,

Por lo cual algunos han sido desviados, entregándose a la necedad;

De lo cual distrayéndose algunos, se apartaron á vanas pláticas;

From which some having swerved have turned aside unto vain jangling;

from which things some, having missed the mark, have turned away to vain talking,

Deseando ser maestros de la ley, aunque no tienen ningún conocimiento de lo que dicen o de las declaraciones que hacen con tanta certeza.

Queriendo ser doctores de la ley, sin entender ni lo que hablan, ni lo que afirman.

Desiring to be teachers of the law; understanding neither what they say, nor whereof they affirm.

Somos conscientes de que la ley es buena, si un hombre hace un uso correcto de ella,

Sabemos empero que la ley es buena, si alguno usa de ella legítimamente;

Con el conocimiento de que la ley está hecha, no para el hombre recto, sino para aquellos que no respetan la ley y el orden, para los rebeldes y desobedientes, para los impíos y los que no tienen religión, para los que dan muerte a sus padres o madres, para los homicidas,

Conociendo esto, que la ley no es puesta para el justo, sino para los injustos y para los desobedientes, para los impíos y pecadores, para los malos y profanos, para los parricidas y matricidas, para los homicidas,

Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers,

Para los fornicarios, para los homosexuales, para los que toman hombres prisioneros, que hacen declaraciones falsas y falsos juramentos, y los que hacen cualquier otra cosa en contra de la enseñanza correcta,

Para los fornicarios, para los sodomitas, para los ladrones de hombres, para los mentirosos y perjuros, y si hay alguna otra cosa contraria á la sana doctrina;

For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine;

for the sexually immoral, for homosexuals, for slave-traders, for liars, for perjurers, and for any other thing contrary to the sound doctrine,

De acuerdo al glorioso evangelio del Dios bendito, que se entregó a mi cuidado.

Según el evangelio de la gloria del Dios bendito, el cual á mí me ha sido encargado.

According to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, which was committed to my trust.

Alabaré al que me dio el poder, Cristo Jesús nuestro Señor, porque me considero fiel, haciéndome su siervo en el ministerio,

Aunque dije palabras violentas contra Dios e hice actos crueles, causando grandes problemas; pero Dios tuvo misericordia de mí, porque lo hice en ignorancia, sin tener fe;

Habiendo sido antes blasfemo y perseguidor é injuriador: mas fuí recibido á misericordia, porque lo hice con ignorancia en incredulidad.

Who was before a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and injurious: but I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief.

Y la gracia de nuestro Señor fue muy grande, con fe y amor que es en Cristo Jesús.

And the grace of our Lord was exceeding abundant with faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.

Palabra fiel, en la cual todos pueden poner su fe, que Cristo Jesús vino al mundo para dar salvación a los pecadores, de los cuales yo soy el peor, él primero:

Pero por esta razón se me dio misericordia, para que en mí, el primero de los pecadores, Jesucristo podría mostrar toda su misericordia, como un ejemplo para aquellos que en el futuro tendrán fe en él para la vida eterna.

Mas por esto fuí recibido á misericordia, para que Jesucristo mostrase en mí el primero toda su clemencia, para ejemplo de los que habían de creer en él para vida eterna.

Howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might shew forth all longsuffering, for a pattern to them which should hereafter believe on him to life everlasting.

Te doy esta orden, Timoteo, hijo mío, en armonía con las palabras de los profetas acerca de ti, para que por ellas puedas ser fuerte, peleando la buena batalla,

Manteniendo la fe y buena conciencia ; pero algunos, al no hacer estas cosas, han dejado la fe:

Tales son Himeneo y Alejandro, a quienes he entregado a Satanás, para que no puedan decir más palabras malvadas contra Dios.

De los cuales son Himeneo y Alejandro, los cuales entregué á Satanás, para que aprendan á no blasfemar.

Of whom is Hymenaeus and Alexander; whom I have delivered unto Satan, that they may learn not to blaspheme.
