Paulus, ein Apostel Jesu Christi, nach dem Befehl Gottes, unsers Heilandes, und des Herrn Jesu Christi, der unsere Hoffnung ist:

Timotheus, meinem rechtschaffenen Sohn im Glauben. Gnade, Barmherzigkeit, Friede von Gott, unserm Vater, und unserm Herrn Jesu Christo.

A Timoteo, verdadero hijo en la fe: Gracia, misericordia y paz de Dios nuestro Padre, y de Cristo Jesús nuestro Señor.

Unto Timothy, my own son in the faith: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God our Father and Jesus Christ our Lord.

Wie ich dich ermahnet habe, daß du zu Ephesus bliebest, da ich nach Mazedonien zog, und gebotest etlichen, daß sie nicht anders lehreten,

Como te rogué que te quedases en Efeso, cuando partí para Macedonia, para que requirieses á algunos que no enseñen diversa doctrina,

As I besought thee to abide still at Ephesus, when I went into Macedonia, that thou mightest charge some that they teach no other doctrine,

As I urged you when I was going into Macedonia, stay at Ephesus that you might command certain men not to teach a different doctrine,

auch nicht achthatten auf die Fabeln und der Geschlechtsregister, die kein Ende haben, und bringen Fragen auf, mehr denn Besserung zu Gott im Glauben.

Ni presten atención á fábulas y genealogías sin término, que antes engendran cuestiones que la edificación de Dios que es por fe; así te encargo ahora.

Neither give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which minister questions, rather than godly edifying which is in faith: so do.

and not to pay attention to myths and endless genealogies, which cause disputes rather than God’s stewardship, which is in faith.

Denn die Hauptsumme des Gebots ist Liebe von reinem Herzen und von gutem Gewissen und von ungefarbtem Glauben,

Pues el fin del mandamiento es la caridad nacida de corazón limpio, y de buena conciencia, y de fe no fingida:

Now the end of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned:

But the goal of this command is love from a pure heart, a good conscience, and sincere faith,

welcher haben etliche gefehlet und sind umgewandt zu unnutzem Geschwatz,

De lo cual distrayéndose algunos, se apartaron á vanas pláticas;

From which some having swerved have turned aside unto vain jangling;

from which things some, having missed the mark, have turned away to vain talking,

wollen der Schrift Meister sein und verstehen nicht, was sie sagen, Oder was sie setzen.

Queriendo ser doctores de la ley, sin entender ni lo que hablan, ni lo que afirman.

Desiring to be teachers of the law; understanding neither what they say, nor whereof they affirm.

Wirwissen aber, daß das Gesetz gut ist, so sein jemand recht brauchet,

Sabemos empero que la ley es buena, si alguno usa de ella legítimamente;

Conociendo esto, que la ley no es puesta para el justo, sino para los injustos y para los desobedientes, para los impíos y pecadores, para los malos y profanos, para los parricidas y matricidas, para los homicidas,

Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers,

den Hurern, den Knabenschandern, den Menschendieben, den Lugnern, den Meineidigen, und so etwas mehr der heilsamen Lehre wider ist,

Para los fornicarios, para los sodomitas, para los ladrones de hombres, para los mentirosos y perjuros, y si hay alguna otra cosa contraria á la sana doctrina;

For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine;

for the sexually immoral, for homosexuals, for slave-traders, for liars, for perjurers, and for any other thing contrary to the sound doctrine,

nach dem herrlichen Evangelium des seligen Gottes, welches mir vertrauet ist.

Según el evangelio de la gloria del Dios bendito, el cual á mí me ha sido encargado.

According to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, which was committed to my trust.

Und ich danke unserm Herrn Christo Jesu, der mich stark gemacht und treu geachtet hat und gesetzt in das Amt,

der ich zuvorwar ein Lasterer und ein Verfolger und ein Schmaher. Aber mir ist Barmherzigkeit widerfahren; denn ich hab's unwissend getan, im Unglauben.

Habiendo sido antes blasfemo y perseguidor é injuriador: mas fuí recibido á misericordia, porque lo hice con ignorancia en incredulidad.

Who was before a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and injurious: but I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief.

Es ist aber desto reicher gewesen die Gnade unsers Herrn samt dem Glauben und der Liebe, die in Christo Jesu ist.

Mas la gracia de nuestro Señor fué más abundante con la fe y amor que es en Cristo Jesús.

And the grace of our Lord was exceeding abundant with faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.

Denn das istjegewililich wahr und ein teuer wertes Wort, daß Christus Jesus kommen ist in die Welt, die Sunder selig zu machen, unter welchen ich der vornehmste bin.

Palabra fiel y digna de ser recibida de todos: que Cristo Jesús vino al mundo para salvar á los pecadores, de los cuales yo soy el primero.

This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.

Aber darum ist mir Barmherzigkeit widerfahren, auf daß an mir vornehmlich Jesus Christus erzeigete alle Geduld zum Exempel denen, die an ihn glauben sollten zum ewigen Leben.

Mas por esto fuí recibido á misericordia, para que Jesucristo mostrase en mí el primero toda su clemencia, para ejemplo de los que habían de creer en él para vida eterna.

Howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might shew forth all longsuffering, for a pattern to them which should hereafter believe on him to life everlasting.

Dies Gebot befehle ich dir, mein Sohn Timotheus, nach den vorigen Weissagungen fiber dir, daß du in denselbigen eine gute Ritterschaft ubest

Este mandamiento, hijo Timoteo, te encargo, para que, conforme á las profecías pasadas de ti, milites por ellas buena milicia;

This charge I commit unto thee, son Timothy, according to the prophecies which went before on thee, that thou by them mightest war a good warfare;

und habest den Glauben und gut Gewissen, welches etliche von sich gestoften und am Glauben Schiffbruch erlitten haben;

Manteniendo la fe y buena conciencia, la cual echando de sí algunos, hicieron naufragio en la fe:

Holding faith, and a good conscience; which some having put away concerning faith have made shipwreck:

unter welchen ist Hymenaus und Alexander, welche ich habe dem Satan ubergeben, daß sie gezuchtiget werden, nicht mehr zu lastern.

De los cuales son Himeneo y Alejandro, los cuales entregué á Satanás, para que aprendan á no blasfemar.
