PAOLO, apostolo di Gesù Cristo, per comandamento di Dio, nostro Salvatore; e del Signor Gesù Cristo, nostra speranza;

a Timoteo, mio vero figliuolo in fede; grazia, misericordia, e pace, da Dio nostro padre, e da Cristo Gesù, nostro Signore.

A Timoteo, verdadero hijo en la fe: Gracia, misericordia y paz de Dios nuestro Padre, y de Cristo Jesús nuestro Señor.

Unto Timothy, my own son in the faith: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God our Father and Jesus Christ our Lord.

SICCOME io ti esortai di rimanere in Efeso, quando io andava in Macedonia, fa' che tu dinunzi ad alcuni che non insegnino dottrina diversa.

Como te rogué que te quedases en Efeso, cuando partí para Macedonia, para que requirieses á algunos que no enseñen diversa doctrina,

As I besought thee to abide still at Ephesus, when I went into Macedonia, that thou mightest charge some that they teach no other doctrine,

As I urged you when I was going into Macedonia, stay at Ephesus that you might command certain men not to teach a different doctrine,

E che non attendano a favole, ed a genealogie senza fine; le quali producono piuttosto quistioni, che edificazion di Dio, che è in fede.

Ni presten atención á fábulas y genealogías sin término, que antes engendran cuestiones que la edificación de Dios que es por fe; así te encargo ahora.

Neither give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which minister questions, rather than godly edifying which is in faith: so do.

and not to pay attention to myths and endless genealogies, which cause disputes rather than God’s stewardship, which is in faith.

Or il fine del comandamento è carità, di cuor puro, e di buona coscienza, e di fede non finta.

Pues el fin del mandamiento es la caridad nacida de corazón limpio, y de buena conciencia, y de fe no fingida:

Now the end of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned:

But the goal of this command is love from a pure heart, a good conscience, and sincere faith,

Dalle quali cose alcuni essendosi sviati, si son rivolti ad un vano parlare;

De lo cual distrayéndose algunos, se apartaron á vanas pláticas;

From which some having swerved have turned aside unto vain jangling;

from which things some, having missed the mark, have turned away to vain talking,

volendo esser dottori della legge, non intendendo nè le cose che dicono, nè quelle delle quali affermano.

Queriendo ser doctores de la ley, sin entender ni lo que hablan, ni lo que afirman.

Desiring to be teachers of the law; understanding neither what they say, nor whereof they affirm.

desiring to be teachers of the law, though they understand neither what they say nor about what they strongly affirm.

Or noi sappiamo che la legge è buona, se alcuno l'usa legittimamente.

Sabemos empero que la ley es buena, si alguno usa de ella legítimamente;

But we know that the law is good, if a man use it lawfully;

But we know that the law is good if a person uses it lawfully,

Sapendo questo: che la legge non è posta al giusto, ma agl'iniqui, e ribelli, agli empi, e peccatori, agli scellerati, e profani, agli uccisori di padri e madri,

Conociendo esto, que la ley no es puesta para el justo, sino para los injustos y para los desobedientes, para los impíos y pecadores, para los malos y profanos, para los parricidas y matricidas, para los homicidas,

Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers,

a' micidiali, a' fornicatori, a quelli che usano co' maschi, a' rubatori d'uomini, a' falsari, agli spergiuratori; e se vi è alcun'altra cosa contraria alla sana dottrina;

Para los fornicarios, para los sodomitas, para los ladrones de hombres, para los mentirosos y perjuros, y si hay alguna otra cosa contraria á la sana doctrina;

For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine;

for the sexually immoral, for homosexuals, for slave-traders, for liars, for perjurers, and for any other thing contrary to the sound doctrine,

secondo l'evangelo della gloria del beato Iddio, il qual m'è stato fidato.

Según el evangelio de la gloria del Dios bendito, el cual á mí me ha sido encargado.

According to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, which was committed to my trust.

E rendo grazie a Cristo nostro Signore, il qual mi fortifica, ch'egli mi ha reputato fedele, ponendo al ministerio me,

Y doy gracias al que me fortificó, á Cristo Jesús nuestro Señor, de que me tuvo por fiel, poniéndome en el ministerio:

And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry;

il quale innanzi era bestemmiatore, e persecutore, ed ingiurioso; ma misericordia mi è stata fatta, perciocchè io lo feci ignorantemente, non avendo la fede.

Habiendo sido antes blasfemo y perseguidor é injuriador: mas fuí recibido á misericordia, porque lo hice con ignorancia en incredulidad.

Who was before a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and injurious: but I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief.

Ma la grazia del Signor nostro è soprabbondata, con fede e carità, che è in Cristo Gesù.

Mas la gracia de nuestro Señor fué más abundante con la fe y amor que es en Cristo Jesús.

And the grace of our Lord was exceeding abundant with faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.

Certa è questa parola, e degna d'essere accettata per ogni maniera: che Cristo Gesù è venuto nel mondo, per salvare i peccatori, de' quali io sono il primo.

Palabra fiel y digna de ser recibida de todos: que Cristo Jesús vino al mundo para salvar á los pecadores, de los cuales yo soy el primero.

This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.

Ma, per questo mi è stata fatta misericordia, acciocchè Gesù Cristo mostrasse in me primieramente tutta la sua clemenza, per essere esempio a coloro che per l'avvenire crederebbero in lui a vita eterna.

Mas por esto fuí recibido á misericordia, para que Jesucristo mostrase en mí el primero toda su clemencia, para ejemplo de los que habían de creer en él para vida eterna.

Howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might shew forth all longsuffering, for a pattern to them which should hereafter believe on him to life everlasting.

Or al Re de' secoli, immortale, invisibile, a Dio solo savio, sia onore, e gloria ne' secoli de' secoli. Amen.

Por tanto, al Rey de siglos, inmortal, invisible, al solo sabio Dios sea honor y gloria por los siglos de los siglos. Amén.

Io ti raccomando questo comandamento, o figliuol Timoteo: che secondo le profezie che innanzi sono state di te, tu guerreggi, in virtù d'esse, la buona guerra.

Este mandamiento, hijo Timoteo, te encargo, para que, conforme á las profecías pasadas de ti, milites por ellas buena milicia;

This charge I commit unto thee, son Timothy, according to the prophecies which went before on thee, that thou by them mightest war a good warfare;

I commit this instruction to you, my child Timothy, according to the prophecies which were given to you before, that by them you may wage the good warfare,

Avendo fede, e buona coscienza; la quale avendo alcuni gettata via, hanno fatto naufragio intorno alla fede.

Manteniendo la fe y buena conciencia, la cual echando de sí algunos, hicieron naufragio en la fe:

Holding faith, and a good conscience; which some having put away concerning faith have made shipwreck:

holding faith and a good conscience, which some having thrust away made a shipwreck concerning the faith,

De' quali è Imeneo, ed Alessandro, i quali io ho dati in man di Satana, acciocchè sieno castigati, ed ammaestrati a non bestemmiare.

De los cuales son Himeneo y Alejandro, los cuales entregué á Satanás, para que aprendan á no blasfemar.

Of whom is Hymenaeus and Alexander; whom I have delivered unto Satan, that they may learn not to blaspheme.
