Ich, Paulus, ein Apostel Christi Jesu nach dem Auftrage Gottes, unsers Retters, und Christi Jesu, der unsere Hoffnung ist,

Ich habe dich bei meiner Abreise nach Mazedonien aufgefordert, noch länger in Ephesus zu bleiben, damit du gewissen Leuten gebieten möchtest, keine fremden Lehren vorzutragen

Como te rogué que te quedases en Efeso, cuando partí para Macedonia, para que requirieses á algunos que no enseñen diversa doctrina,

und sich nicht mit Fabeln und endlosen Geschlechtsverzeichnissen zu befassen, die ja doch eher Anlaß zu spitzfindigen Untersuchungen als zu einer im Glauben sich vollziehenden Wirksamkeit eines Haushalters Gottes geben.

Ni presten atención á fábulas y genealogías sin término, que antes engendran cuestiones que la edificación de Dios que es por fe; así te encargo ahora.

Das Endziel der Heilsverkündigung ist aber Liebe, die aus reinem Herzen und gutem Gewissen und ungeheucheltem Glauben stammt.
