So spreche ich denn zu allererst die Mahnung aus, daß man Bitten und Gebete, Fürbitten und Danksagungen für alle Menschen verrichte,

sondern, wie es sich für Frauen geziemt, welche Gottesfurcht an den Tag legen wollen, mit guten Werken.
Sino de buenas obras, como conviene á mujeres que profesan piedad.

dagegen gestatte ich keiner Frau, Lehrvorträge zu halten oder sich die Gewalt über den Mann anzumaßen; nein, sie soll in stiller Zurückhaltung verbleiben.
Porque no permito á la mujer enseñar, ni tomar autoridad sobre el hombre, sino estar en silencio.
But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.

Empero se salvará engendrando hijos, si permaneciere en la fe y caridad y santidad, con modestia.
Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety.
