Cette parole est certaine, que si quelqu’un aspire à la surveillance, il désire une œuvre bonne :
PALABRA fiel: Si alguno apetece obispado, buena obra desea.
This is a true saying, If a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work.
This is a faithful saying: someone who seeks to be an overseer desires a good work.
il faut donc que le surveillant soit irrépréhensible, mari d’une seule femme, sobre, sage, honorable, hospitalier, propre à enseigner,
Conviene, pues, que el obispo sea irreprensible, marido de una mujer, solícito, templado, compuesto, hospedador, apto para enseñar;
A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach;

not a drinker, not violent, not greedy for money, but gentle, not quarrelsome, not covetous;
conduisant bien sa propre maison, tenant ses enfants soumis en toute gravité.
Que gobierne bien su casa, que tenga sus hijos en sujeción con toda honestidad;
One that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity;

mais, si je tarde, – afin que tu saches comment il faut se conduire dans la maison de Dieu, qui est l’assemblée du Dieu vivant, la colonne et le soutien de la vérité.
Y si no fuere tan presto, para que sepas cómo te conviene conversar en la casa de Dios, que es la iglesia del Dios vivo, columna y apoyo de la verdad.
