1Pero el Espíritu dice claramente que en los últimos tiempos algunos se apartarán de la fe, prestando atención a espíritus engañadores y a enseñanzas de demonios,
2por la hipocresía de mentirosos que tienen cauterizada la conciencia.
3Prohibirán casarse y mandarán abstenerse de alimentos que Dios creó para que los creyentes y los que han conocido la verdad los reciban con acción de gracias.
4Porque todo lo que Dios creó es bueno, y no se debe rechazar nada si se recibe con acción de gracias,
5ya que se santifica por medio de la palabra de Dios y la oración.
6Si instruyes a los hermanos en estas cosas, serás un buen servidor de Cristo Jesús, nutrido con las palabras de la fe y de la buena enseñanza que has seguido.
7Pero rechaza los cuentos profanos y de viejas. Más bien, ejercítate en la piedad.
8Porque el ejercicio físico tiene algún valor, pero la piedad es útil para todo, ya que encierra promesa para la vida presente y para la venidera.
9Esta es una palabra fiel y digna de ser aceptada por todos.
10Por esto mismo nos esforzamos y sufrimos, porque hemos puesto nuestra esperanza en el Dios viviente, que es el Salvador de todos los hombres, especialmente de los que creen.
11Manda y enseña estas cosas.
12Que nadie te menosprecie por ser joven. Al contrario, sé un ejemplo para los creyentes en tu forma de hablar, en tu conducta, en amor, en fe y en pureza.
13Mientras llego, dedícate a la lectura pública de las Escrituras, a la exhortación y a la enseñanza.
14No descuides el don que hay en ti, el cual te fue dado mediante profecía con la imposición de las manos de los ancianos.
15Sé diligente en estas cosas y dedícate por completo a ellas, para que tu avance sea evidente a todos.
16Ten cuidado de ti mismo y de lo que enseñas. Persevera en estas cosas, porque haciéndolo te salvarás a ti mismo y a los que te escuchan.

1EMPERO el Espíritu dice manifiestamente, que en los venideros tiempos algunos apostatarán de la fe, escuchando á espíritus de error y á doctrinas de demonios;
2Que con hipocresía hablarán mentira, teniendo cauterizada la conciencia.
3Que prohibirán casarse, y mandarán abstenerse de las viandas que Dios crió para que con hacimiento de gracias participasen de ellas los fieles, y los que han conocido la verdad.
4Porque todo lo que Dios crió es bueno, y nada hay que desechar, tomándose con hacimiento de gracias:
5Porque por la palabra de Dios y por la oración es santificado.
6Si esto propusieres á los hermanos, serás buen ministro de Jesucristo, criado en las palabras de la fe y de la buena doctrina, la cual has alcanzado.
7Mas las fábulas profanas y de viejas desecha, y ejercítate para la piedad.
8Porque el ejercicio corporal para poco es provechoso; mas la piedad para todo aprovecha, pues tiene promesa de esta vida presente, y de la venidera.
9Palabra fiel es esta, y digna de ser recibida de todos.
10Que por esto aun trabajamos y sufrimos oprobios, porque esperamos en el Dios viviente, el cual es Salvador de todos los hombres, mayormente de los que creen.
11Esto manda y enseña.
12Ninguno tenga en poco tu juventud; pero sé ejemplo de los fieles en palabra, en conversación, en caridad, en espíritu, en fe, en limpieza.
13Entre tanto que voy, ocúpate en leer, en exhortar, en enseñar.
14No descuides el don que está en ti, que te es dado por profecía con la imposición de las manos del presbiterio.
15Medita estas cosas; ocúpate en ellas; para que tu aprovechamiento sea manifiesto á todos.
16Ten cuidado de ti mismo y de la doctrina; persiste en ello; pues haciendo esto, á ti mismo salvarás y á los que te oyeren.

1Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
2Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;
3Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.
4For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving:
5For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.
6If thou put the brethren in remembrance of these things, thou shalt be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished up in the words of faith and of good doctrine, whereunto thou hast attained.
7But refuse profane and old wives’ fables, and exercise thyself rather unto godliness.
8For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.
9This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptation.
10For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe.
11These things command and teach.
12Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.
13Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine.
14Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery.
15Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all.
16Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.

2through the hypocrisy of men who speak lies, branded in their own conscience as with a hot iron,
3forbidding marriage and commanding to abstain from foods which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth.

6If you instruct the brothers of these things, you will be a good servant of Christ Jesus, nourished in the words of the faith and of the good doctrine which you have followed.
