1 Timoteo 5

Laß keine Witwe erwählet werden unter sechzig Jahren, und die da gewesen sei eines Mannes Weib,

NO reprendas al anciano, sino exhórtale como á padre: á los más jóvenes, como á hermanos;

Rebuke not an elder, but intreat him as a father; and the younger men as brethren;

Don’t rebuke an older man, but exhort him as a father; the younger men as brothers;

und die ein Zeugnis habe guter Werke, so sie Kinder aufgezogen hat, so sie gastfrei gewesen ist, so sie der Heiligen Füße gewaschen hat, so sie den Trübseligen Handreichung getan hat, so sie allem guten Werk nachkommen ist.

A las ancianas, como á madres; á las jovencitas, como á hermanas, con toda pureza.

Der jungen Witwen aber entschlage dich; denn wenn sie geil worden sind wider Christum, so wollen sie freien

Honra á las viudas que en verdad son viudas.

Honour widows that are widows indeed.

und haben ihr Urteil, daß sie den ersten Glauben gebrochen haben.

Pero si alguna viuda tuviere hijos, ó nietos, aprendan primero á gobernar su casa piadosamente, y á recompensar á sus padres: porque esto es lo honesto y agradable delante de Dios.

But if any widow have children or nephews, let them learn first to shew piety at home, and to requite their parents: for that is good and acceptable before God.

But if any widow has children or grandchildren, let them learn first to show piety toward their own family and to repay their parents, for this is acceptable in the sight of God.

Daneben sind sie faul und lernen umlaufen durch die Häuser; nicht allein aber sind sie faul, sondern auch schwätzig und vorwitzig und reden, was nicht sein soll.

Ahora, la que en verdad es viuda y solitaria, espera en Dios, y es diligente en suplicaciones y oraciones noche y día.

Now she that is a widow indeed, and desolate, trusteth in God, and continueth in supplications and prayers night and day.

So will ich nun, daß die jungen Witwen freien, Kinder zeugen, haushalten, dem Widersacher keine Ursache geben zu schelten.

Pero la que vive en delicias, viviendo está muerta.

But she that liveth in pleasure is dead while she liveth.

But she who gives herself to pleasure is dead while she lives.

Denn es sind schon etliche umgewandt dem Satan nach.

Denuncia pues estas cosas, para que sean sin reprensión.

And these things give in charge, that they may be blameless.

Also command these things, that they may be without reproach.

So aber ein Gläubiger oder Gläubigin Witwen hat, der versorge dieselbigen und lasse die Gemeinde nicht beschweret werden, auf daß die, so rechte Witwen sind, mögen genug haben.

Y si alguno no tiene cuidado de los suyos, y mayormente de los de su casa, la fe negó, y es peor que un infiel.

But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.

But if anyone doesn’t provide for his own, and especially his own household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.

Die Ältesten, die wohl vorstehen, die halte man zwiefacher Ehre wert, sonderlich die da arbeiten im Wort und in der Lehre.

La viuda sea puesta en clase especial, no menos que de sesenta años, que haya sido esposa de un solo marido.

Let not a widow be taken into the number under threescore years old, having been the wife of one man,

Let no one be enrolled as a widow under sixty years old, having been the wife of one man,

Denn es spricht die Schrift: Du sollst nicht dem Ochsen das Maul verbinden, der da drischt, und: Ein Arbeiter ist seines Lohnes wert.

Que tenga testimonio en buenas obras; si crió hijos; si ha ejercitado la hospitalidad; si ha lavado los pies de los santos; si ha socorrido á los afligidos; si ha seguido toda buena obra.

Well reported of for good works; if she have brought up children, if she have lodged strangers, if she have washed the saints’ feet, if she have relieved the afflicted, if she have diligently followed every good work.

being approved by good works, if she has brought up children, if she has been hospitable to strangers, if she has washed the saints’ feet, if she has relieved the afflicted, and if she has diligently followed every good work.

Wider einen Ältesten nimm keine Klage auf außer zweien oder dreien Zeugen.

Pero viudas más jóvenes no admitas: porque después de hacerse licenciosas contra Cristo, quieren casarse.

But the younger widows refuse: for when they have begun to wax wanton against Christ, they will marry;

Die da sündigen, die strafe vor allen, auf daß sich auch die andern fürchten.

Condenadas ya, por haber falseado la primera fe.

Having damnation, because they have cast off their first faith.

Ich bezeuge vor Gott und dem HERRN Jesu Christo und den auserwählten Engeln, daß du solches haltest ohne eigen Gutdünken und nichts tuest nach Gunst.

Y aun también se acostumbran á ser ociosas, á andar de casa en casa; y no solamente ociosas, sino también parleras y curiosas, hablando lo que no conviene.

And withal they learn to be idle, wandering about from house to house; and not only idle, but tattlers also and busybodies, speaking things which they ought not.

Die Hände lege niemand bald auf; mache dich auch nicht teilhaftig fremder Sünden. Halte dich selber keusch!

Quiero pues, que las que son jóvenes se casen, críen hijos, gobiernen la casa; que ninguna ocasión den al adversario para maldecir.

I will therefore that the younger women marry, bear children, guide the house, give none occasion to the adversary to speak reproachfully.

I desire therefore that the younger widows marry, bear children, rule the household, and give no occasion to the adversary for insulting.

Trinke nicht mehr Wasser, sondern brauche ein wenig Wein um deines Magens willen, und daß du oft krank bist.

Porque ya algunas han vuelto atrás en pos de Satanás.

For some are already turned aside after Satan.

Etlicher Menschen Sünden sind offenbar, daß man sie vorhin richten kann; etlicher aber werden hernach offenbar.

Si algún fiel ó alguna fiel tiene viudas, manténgalas, y no sea gravada la iglesia; á fin de que haya lo suficiente para las que de verdad son viudas.

If any man or woman that believeth have widows, let them relieve them, and let not the church be charged; that it may relieve them that are widows indeed.

If any man or woman who believes has widows, let them relieve them, and don’t let the assembly be burdened, that it might relieve those who are widows indeed.

Desselbigengleichen auch etlicher gute Werkes sind zuvor offenbar; und die andern bleiben auch nicht verborgen.

Los ancianos que gobiernan bien, sean tenidos por dignos de doblada honra; mayormente los que trabajan en predicar y enseñar.

Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honour, especially they who labour in the word and doctrine.

Die Knechte, so unter dem Joch sind, sollen ihre HERREN aller Ehren wert halten, auf daß nicht der Name Gottes und die Lehre verlästert werde.

Porque la Escritura dice: No embozarás al buey que trilla; y: Digno es el obrero de su jornal.

For the scripture saith, Thou shalt not muzzle the ox that treadeth out the corn. And, The labourer is worthy of his reward.

For the Scripture says, “You shall not muzzle the ox when it treads out the grain.” And, “The laborer is worthy of his wages.”

Welche aber gläubige HERREN haben, sollen dieselbigen nicht verachten (mit dem Schein), daß sie Brüder sind, sondern sollen vielmehr dienstbar sein, dieweil sie gläubig und geliebt und der Wohltat teilhaftig sind. Solches lehre und ermahne!

Contra el anciano no recibas acusación sino con dos ó tres testigos.

Against an elder receive not an accusation, but before two or three witnesses.

Don’t receive an accusation against an elder except at the word of two or three witnesses.

So jemand anders lehret und bleibet nicht bei den heilsamen Worten unsers HERRN Jesu Christi und bei der Lehre von der Gottseligkeit,

A los que pecaren, repréndelos delante de todos, para que los otros también teman.

Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear.

Those who sin, reprove in the sight of all, that the rest also may be in fear.

der ist verdüstert und weiß nichts, sondern ist seuchtig in Fragen und Wortkriegen, aus welchen entspringet Neid, Hader, Lästerung, böser Argwohn,

Te requiero delante de Dios y del Señor Jesucristo, y de sus ángeles escogidos, que guardes estas cosas sin perjuicio de nadie, que nada hagas inclinándote á la una parte.

I charge thee before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, and the elect angels, that thou observe these things without preferring one before another, doing nothing by partiality.

I command you in the sight of God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, and the chosen angels, that you observe these things without prejudice, doing nothing by partiality.

Schulgezänke solcher Menschen, die zerrüttete Sinne haben und der Wahrheit beraubt sind, die da meinen, Gottseligkeit sei ein Gewerbe. Tue dich von solchen!

No impongas de ligero las manos á ninguno, ni comuniques en pecados ajenos: consérvate en limpieza.

Lay hands suddenly on no man, neither be partaker of other men’s sins: keep thyself pure.

Lay hands hastily on no one. Don’t be a participant in other people’s sins. Keep yourself pure.

Es ist aber ein großer Gewinn, wer gottselig ist und lässet sich genügen.

No bebas de aquí adelante agua, sino usa de un poco de vino por causa del estómago, y de tus continuas enfermedades.

Drink no longer water, but use a little wine for thy stomach’s sake and thine often infirmities.

Be no longer a drinker of water only, but use a little wine for your stomach’s sake and your frequent infirmities.

Denn wir haben nichts in die Welt gebracht, darum offenbar ist, wir werden auch nichts hinausbringen.

Los pecados de algunos hombres, antes que vengan ellos á juicio, son manifiestos; mas á otros les vienen después.

Some men’s sins are open beforehand, going before to judgment; and some men they follow after.

Some men’s sins are evident, preceding them to judgment, and some also follow later.

Wenn wir aber Nahrung und Kleider haben, so lasset uns begnügen.

Asimismo las buenas obras antes son manifiestas; y las que son de otra manera, no pueden esconderse.

Likewise also the good works of some are manifest beforehand; and they that are otherwise can not be hid.

In the same way also there are good works that are obvious, and those that are otherwise can’t be hidden.
