Einen älteren Mann fahre nicht hart an, sondern rede mahnend zu ihm wie zu einem Vater; jüngere Männer ermahne wie Brüder,

NO reprendas al anciano, sino exhórtale como á padre: á los más jóvenes, como á hermanos;

Rebuke not an elder, but intreat him as a father; and the younger men as brethren;

ältere Frauen wie Mütter, jüngere wie Schwestern in aller Sittsamkeit.

A las ancianas, como á madres; á las jovencitas, como á hermanas, con toda pureza.

Witwen, die wirklich Witwen sind, begegne mit Ehrerbietung;

wenn aber eine Witwe Kinder oder Enkel hat, so sollen diese lernen, an erster Stelle gegen ihre eigene Familie liebevoll zu handeln und ihren gealterten Angehörigen die empfangenen Wohltaten zu vergelten, denn das ist wohlgefällig vor Gott.

Pero si alguna viuda tuviere hijos, ó nietos, aprendan primero á gobernar su casa piadosamente, y á recompensar á sus padres: porque esto es lo honesto y agradable delante de Dios.

But if any widow have children or nephews, let them learn first to shew piety at home, and to requite their parents: for that is good and acceptable before God.

Eine wirkliche Witwe aber, die ganz allein steht, hat ihre Hoffnung auf Gott gesetzt und verharrt in ihren Bitten und Gebeten bei Tag und Nacht;

wenn eine Witwe dagegen in Üppigkeit lebt, so ist sie schon bei Lebzeiten tot.

Pero la que vive en delicias, viviendo está muerta.

But she that liveth in pleasure is dead while she liveth.

But she who gives herself to pleasure is dead while she lives.

Auch dies schärfe ihnen ein, damit sie sich unsträflich halten!

Denuncia pues estas cosas, para que sean sin reprensión.

And these things give in charge, that they may be blameless.

Also command these things, that they may be without reproach.

Wenn aber jemand seine Angehörigen, zumal wenn sie seine Hausgenossen sind, nicht versorgt, so hat er damit den Glauben verleugnet und ist schlimmer als ein Ungläubiger.

Y si alguno no tiene cuidado de los suyos, y mayormente de los de su casa, la fe negó, y es peor que un infiel.

But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.

But if anyone doesn’t provide for his own, and especially his own household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.

Eine Witwe soll nur dann in das Verzeichnis (der von der Gemeinde zu versorgenden Witwen) eingetragen werden, wenn sie mindestens sechzig Jahre alt ist, nur eines Mannes Ehefrau gewesen

La viuda sea puesta en clase especial, no menos que de sesenta años, que haya sido esposa de un solo marido.

Let not a widow be taken into the number under threescore years old, having been the wife of one man,

und durch gute Werke wohl bezeugt ist, insofern sie nämlich Kinder großgezogen, Gastfreundschaft gegen Fremde geübt, Heiligen die Füße gewaschen, Bedrängten Hilfe geleistet hat, überhaupt guten Werken aller Art eifrig nachgegangen ist.

Que tenga testimonio en buenas obras; si crió hijos; si ha ejercitado la hospitalidad; si ha lavado los pies de los santos; si ha socorrido á los afligidos; si ha seguido toda buena obra.

Well reported of for good works; if she have brought up children, if she have lodged strangers, if she have washed the saints’ feet, if she have relieved the afflicted, if she have diligently followed every good work.

Jüngere Witwen dagegen weise zurück; denn wenn sie im Gegensatz zur Hingabe an Christus sinnlich erregt geworden sind, wollen sie wieder heiraten,

Pero viudas más jóvenes no admitas: porque después de hacerse licenciosas contra Cristo, quieren casarse.

But the younger widows refuse: for when they have begun to wax wanton against Christ, they will marry;

obgleich sie dadurch ein Schuldurteil auf sich lasten haben, weil sie das erste Treuegelöbnis gebrochen haben.

Condenadas ya, por haber falseado la primera fe.

Having damnation, because they have cast off their first faith.

having condemnation, because they have rejected their first pledge.

Da sie zugleich beschäftigungslos sind, gewöhnen sie sich daran, in den Häusern umherzulaufen, und sind dann nicht nur beschäftigungslos, sondern führen auch bei ihrer Geschwätzigkeit und Neugier ungehörige Reden.

Y aun también se acostumbran á ser ociosas, á andar de casa en casa; y no solamente ociosas, sino también parleras y curiosas, hablando lo que no conviene.

And withal they learn to be idle, wandering about from house to house; and not only idle, but tattlers also and busybodies, speaking things which they ought not.

Es ist daher mein Wille, daß die jüngeren (Witwen wieder) heiraten, Mütter werden, ihrem Haushalt vorstehen und dem Widersacher keinen Anlaß zu übler Nachrede geben;

I will therefore that the younger women marry, bear children, guide the house, give none occasion to the adversary to speak reproachfully.

manche sind ja leider schon vom rechten Wege abgewichen und dem Satan nachgefolgt.

Porque ya algunas han vuelto atrás en pos de Satanás.

Wenn eine gläubige Frau Witwen (in ihrer Verwandtschaft) hat, so soll sie für deren Bedarf sorgen, die Gemeinde aber soll unbelastet bleiben, damit sie sich der wirklichen Witwen ausreichend annehmen kann.

Si algún fiel ó alguna fiel tiene viudas, manténgalas, y no sea gravada la iglesia; á fin de que haya lo suficiente para las que de verdad son viudas.

If any man or woman that believeth have widows, let them relieve them, and let not the church be charged; that it may relieve them that are widows indeed.

If any man or woman who believes has widows, let them relieve them, and don’t let the assembly be burdened, that it might relieve those who are widows indeed.

Die Ältesten, die sich in ihrem Vorsteheramt bewähren, sollen doppelter Ehre würdig geachtet werden, besonders die, welche als Prediger und Lehrer mit Eifer tätig sind;

denn die Schrift sagt: »Du sollst einem Ochsen beim Dreschen das Maul nicht verbinden« und: »Der Arbeiter ist seines Lohnes wert.«

Porque la Escritura dice: No embozarás al buey que trilla; y: Digno es el obrero de su jornal.

For the scripture saith, Thou shalt not muzzle the ox that treadeth out the corn. And, The labourer is worthy of his reward.

For the Scripture says, “You shall not muzzle the ox when it treads out the grain.” And, “The laborer is worthy of his wages.”

Gegen einen Ältesten nimm keine Klage an, außer aufgrund der Aussagen von zwei oder drei Zeugen.

Contra el anciano no recibas acusación sino con dos ó tres testigos.

Against an elder receive not an accusation, but before two or three witnesses.

Solche, die sich etwas zuschulden kommen lassen, weise in Gegenwart aller (Ältesten) zurecht, damit auch die übrigen (Ältesten) Furcht bekommen.

A los que pecaren, repréndelos delante de todos, para que los otros también teman.

Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear.

Those who sin, reprove in the sight of all, that the rest also may be in fear.

Ich beschwöre dich vor dem Angesicht Gottes und des Herrn Christus Jesus und der auserwählten Engel: befolge diese Weisungen ohne Vorurteil und handle in keinem Fall nach Gunst.

Te requiero delante de Dios y del Señor Jesucristo, y de sus ángeles escogidos, que guardes estas cosas sin perjuicio de nadie, que nada hagas inclinándote á la una parte.

I charge thee before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, and the elect angels, that thou observe these things without preferring one before another, doing nothing by partiality.

I command you in the sight of God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, and the chosen angels, that you observe these things without prejudice, doing nothing by partiality.

Die Handauflegung erteile niemandem übereilt, und mache dich (dadurch) nicht zum Mitschuldigen fremder Sünden; erhalte dich selbst rein!

No impongas de ligero las manos á ninguno, ni comuniques en pecados ajenos: consérvate en limpieza.

Lay hands suddenly on no man, neither be partaker of other men’s sins: keep thyself pure.

Trinke nicht mehr immer nur Wasser, sondern nimm etwas Wein hinzu wegen deines Magens und deiner häufigen Schwächeanfälle. –

No bebas de aquí adelante agua, sino usa de un poco de vino por causa del estómago, y de tus continuas enfermedades.

Drink no longer water, but use a little wine for thy stomach’s sake and thine often infirmities.

Be no longer a drinker of water only, but use a little wine for your stomach’s sake and your frequent infirmities.

Bei manchen Menschen liegen die Sünden offenkundig zutage und treten für die Beurteilung schon vorher hervor; bei manchen werden sie aber auch erst hinterdrein bekannt.

Los pecados de algunos hombres, antes que vengan ellos á juicio, son manifiestos; mas á otros les vienen después.

Some men’s sins are open beforehand, going before to judgment; and some men they follow after.

Some men’s sins are evident, preceding them to judgment, and some also follow later.

Ebenso sind auch die guten Werke offenkundig, und die, bei denen das nicht der Fall ist, können (auf die Dauer) doch nicht verborgen bleiben.

Asimismo las buenas obras antes son manifiestas; y las que son de otra manera, no pueden esconderse.

Likewise also the good works of some are manifest beforehand; and they that are otherwise can not be hid.

In the same way also there are good works that are obvious, and those that are otherwise can’t be hidden.
