Nesse meio-tempo, Jeroboão, filho de Nebate, recebera um aviso a respeito da morte de Salomão. Ele estava no Egito nessa ocasião, para onde tinha fugido do rei Salomão. Mais que depressa ele voltou do Egito para a coroação.

Y como lo oyó Jeroboam hijo de Nabat, el cual estaba en Egipto, donde había huído á causa del rey Salomón, volvió de Egipto.

And it came to pass, when Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who was in Egypt, whither he had fled from the presence of Solomon the king, heard it, that Jeroboam returned out of Egypt.

When Jeroboam the son of Nebat heard of it (for he was in Egypt, where he had fled from the presence of King Solomon), Jeroboam returned out of Egypt.
