Rehabeam begab sich nun nach Sichem; denn in Sichem hatten sich alle Israeliten eingefunden, um ihn zum König zu machen.

Y ROBOAM fué á Sichêm porque en Sichêm se había juntado todo Israel para hacerlo rey.

And Rehoboam went to Shechem: for to Shechem were all Israel come to make him king.

Sobald nun Jerobeam, der Sohn Nebats, Kunde davon erhielt – er befand sich nämlich in Ägypten, wohin er vor dem König Salomo geflohen war –, da kehrte Jerobeam aus Ägypten zurück;

Y como lo oyó Jeroboam hijo de Nabat, el cual estaba en Egipto, donde había huído á causa del rey Salomón, volvió de Egipto.

And it came to pass, when Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who was in Egypt, whither he had fled from the presence of Solomon the king, heard it, that Jeroboam returned out of Egypt.

When Jeroboam the son of Nebat heard of it (for he was in Egypt, where he had fled from the presence of King Solomon), Jeroboam returned out of Egypt.

man hatte nämlich hingesandt und ihn holen lassen. So kamen denn Jerobeam und das ganze Israel und trugen dem Rehabeam folgendes vor:

Y enviaron y llamáronle. Vino pues Jeroboam, y todo Israel, y hablaron á Roboam, diciendo:

And they sent and called him. So Jeroboam and all Israel came and spake to Rehoboam, saying,

»Dein Vater hat uns ein hartes Joch auferlegt; so erleichtere du uns jetzt deines Vaters harten Dienst und das schwere Joch, das er uns auferlegt hat, so wollen wir dir untertan sein!«

Tu padre agravó nuestro yugo: afloja tú, pues, ahora algo de la dura servidumbre, y del grave yugo con que tu padre nos apremió, y te serviremos.

Thy father made our yoke grievous: now therefore ease thou somewhat the grievous servitude of thy father, and his heavy yoke that he put upon us, and we will serve thee.

“Your father made our yoke grievous. Now therefore make the grievous service of your father and his heavy yoke which he put on us, lighter, and we will serve you.”

Er antwortete ihnen: »Geduldet euch noch drei Tage, dann kommt wieder zu mir!« Nachdem sich nun das Volk entfernt hatte,

Y él les dijo: Volved á mí de aquí á tres días. Y el pueblo se fué.

And he said unto them, Come again unto me after three days. And the people departed.

He said to them, “Come again to me after three days.” So the people departed.

beriet sich der König Rehabeam mit den alten Räten, die seinem Vater Salomo bei dessen Lebzeiten gedient hatten, und fragte sie: »Welche Antwort ratet ihr mir diesen Leuten zu erteilen?«

Entonces el rey Roboam tomó consejo con los viejos, que habían estado delante de Salomón su padre cuando vivía, y díjoles: ¿Cómo aconsejáis vosotros que responda á este pueblo?

And king Rehoboam took counsel with the old men that had stood before Solomon his father while he yet lived, saying, What counsel give ye me to return answer to this people?

King Rehoboam took counsel with the old men, who had stood before Solomon his father while he yet lived, saying, “What counsel do you give me about how to answer these people?”

Sie erwiderten ihm: »Wenn du dich heute diesen Leuten gegenüber freundlich zeigst und sie gnädig behandelst und ihnen eine gütige Antwort erteilst, so werden sie dir stets gehorsame Untertanen sein.«

Y ellos le hablaron, diciendo: Si te condujeres humanamente con este pueblo, y los agradares, y les hablares buenas palabras, ellos te servirán perpetuamente.

And they spake unto him, saying, If thou be kind to this people, and please them, and speak good words to them, they will be thy servants for ever.

They spoke to him, saying, “If you are kind to these people, please them, and speak good words to them, then they will be your servants forever.”

Aber er ließ den Rat, den ihm die Alten gegeben hatten, unbeachtet und beriet sich mit den jungen Männern, die mit ihm aufgewachsen waren und jetzt in seinen Diensten standen.

Mas él, dejando el consejo que le dieron los viejos, tomó consejo con los mancebos que se habían criado con él, y que delante de él asistían;

But he forsook the counsel which the old men gave him, and took counsel with the young men that were brought up with him, that stood before him.

But he abandoned the counsel of the old men which they had given him, and took counsel with the young men who had grown up with him, who stood before him.

Er fragte sie: »Welche Antwort müssen wir nach eurer Ansicht diesen Leuten geben, die von mir eine Erleichterung des Joches verlangen, das mein Vater ihnen auferlegt hat?«

Y díjoles: ¿Qué aconsejáis vosotros que respondamos á este pueblo, que me ha hablado, diciendo: Alivia algo del yugo que tu padre puso sobre nosotros?

And he said unto them, What advice give ye that we may return answer to this people, which have spoken to me, saying, Ease somewhat the yoke that thy father did put upon us?

He said to them, “What counsel do you give, that we may give an answer to these people, who have spoken to me, saying, ‘Make the yoke that your father put on us lighter’?”

Da gaben ihm die jungen Männer, die mit ihm aufgewachsen waren, folgende Antwort: »So mußt du den Leuten antworten, die von dir eine Erleichterung des schweren Joches verlangen, das dein Vater ihnen auferlegt hat, – so mußt du ihnen antworten: ›Mein kleiner Finger ist dicker als meines Vaters Lenden!

Entonces los mancebos que se habían criado con él, le hablaron, diciendo: Así dirás al pueblo que te ha hablado diciendo, Tu padre agravó nuestro yugo, mas tú descárganos: así les dirás: Lo más menudo mío es más grueso que los lomos de mi padre.

And the young men that were brought up with him spake unto him, saying, Thus shalt thou answer the people that spake unto thee, saying, Thy father made our yoke heavy, but make thou it somewhat lighter for us; thus shalt thou say unto them, My little finger shall be thicker than my father’s loins.

The young men who had grown up with him spoke to him, saying, “Thus you shall tell the people who spoke to you, saying, ‘Your father made our yoke heavy, but make it lighter on us;’ thus you shall say to them, ‘My little finger is thicker than my father’s waist.

Und nun: hat mein Vater euch ein schweres Joch aufgeladen, so will ich euer Joch noch schwerer machen; hat mein Vater euch mit Peitschen gezüchtigt, so will ich euch mit Skorpionen züchtigen!«

Así que, mi padre os cargó de grave yugo, y yo añadiré á vuestro yugo: mi padre os castigó con azotes, y yo con escorpiones.

For whereas my father put a heavy yoke upon you, I will put more to your yoke: my father chastised you with whips, but I will chastise you with scorpions.

Now whereas my father burdened you with a heavy yoke, I will add to your yoke. My father chastised you with whips, but I will chastise you with scorpions.’”

Als nun Jerobeam mit dem ganzen Volk am dritten Tage zu Rehabeam kam, wie der König ihnen befohlen hatte mit den Worten: »Kommt am dritten Tage wieder zu mir!«,

Vino pues Jeroboam con todo el pueblo á Roboam al tercer día: según el rey les había mandado diciendo: Volved á mí de aquí á tres días.

So Jeroboam and all the people came to Rehoboam on the third day, as the king bade, saying, Come again to me on the third day.

So Jeroboam and all the people came to Rehoboam the third day, as the king asked, saying, “Come to me again the third day.”

gab der König ihnen eine harte Antwort; denn der König Rehabeam ließ den Rat der Alten unbeachtet

Y respondióles el rey ásperamente; pues dejó el rey Roboam el consejo de los viejos,

And the king answered them roughly; and king Rehoboam forsook the counsel of the old men,

The king answered them roughly; and King Rehoboam abandoned the counsel of the old men,

und gab ihnen nach dem Rat der jungen Männer folgende Antwort: »Hat mein Vater euch ein schweres Joch auferlegt, so will ich es noch schwerer machen; hat mein Vater euch mit Peitschen gezüchtigt, so will ich euch mit Skorpionen züchtigen.«

Y hablóles conforme al consejo de los mancebos, diciendo: Mi padre agravó vuestro yugo, y yo añadiré á vuestro yugo: mi padre os castigó con azotes, y yo con escorpiones.

And answered them after the advice of the young men, saying, My father made your yoke heavy, but I will add thereto: my father chastised you with whips, but I will chastise you with scorpions.

and spoke to them after the counsel of the young men, saying, “My father made your yoke heavy, but I will add to it. My father chastised you with whips, but I will chastise you with scorpions.”

So schenkte also der König dem Volke kein Gehör; denn von Gott war es so gefügt worden, damit der HERR seine Verheißung in Erfüllung gehen ließe, die er durch den Mund Ahias von Silo dem Jerobeam, dem Sohne Nebats, gegeben hatte.

Y no escuchó el rey al pueblo; porque la causa era de Dios, para cumplir Jehová su palabra que había hablado, por Ahías Silonita, á Jeroboam hijo de Nabat.

So the king hearkened not unto the people: for the cause was of God, that the LORD might perform his word, which he spake by the hand of Ahijah the Shilonite to Jeroboam the son of Nebat.

So the king didn’t listen to the people; for it was brought about by God, that the LORD might establish his word, which he spoke by Ahijah the Shilonite to Jeroboam the son of Nebat.

Als nun ganz Israel sah, daß der König ihnen kein Gehör schenkte, ließ das Volk dem König folgende Erklärung zugehen: »Was haben wir mit David zu schaffen? Wir haben nichts gemein mit dem Sohne Isais. Ein jeder begebe sich in seine Heimat, ihr Israeliten! Nun sorge für dein eigenes Haus, David!« So begaben sich denn sämtliche Israeliten in ihre Heimat,

Y viendo todo Israel que el rey no les había oído, respondió el pueblo al rey, diciendo: ¿Qué parte tenemos nosotros con David, ni herencia en el hijo de Isaí? ¡Israel, cada uno á sus estancias! ¡David, mira ahora por tu casa! Así se fué todo Israel á sus estancias.

And when all Israel saw that the king would not hearken unto them, the people answered the king, saying, What portion have we in David? and we have none inheritance in the son of Jesse: every man to your tents, O Israel: and now, David, see to thine own house. So all Israel went to their tents.

When all Israel saw that the king didn’t listen to them, the people answered the king, saying, “What portion do we have in David? We don’t have an inheritance in the son of Jesse! Every man to your tents, Israel! Now see to your own house, David.” So all Israel departed to their tents.

so daß Rehabeam nur über die Israeliten, die in den Ortschaften Judas wohnten, König blieb.

Mas reinó Roboam sobre los hijos de Israel que habitaban en las ciudades de Judá.

But as for the children of Israel that dwelt in the cities of Judah, Rehoboam reigned over them.

But as for the children of Israel who lived in the cities of Judah, Rehoboam reigned over them.

Als dann der König Rehabeam Hadoram, den Oberaufseher über die Fronarbeiter, hinsandte, warfen die Israeliten ihn mit Steinen zu Tode. Da hatte der König Rehabeam nichts Eiligeres zu tun, als in seinen Wagen zu springen, um nach Jerusalem zu fliehen.

Envió luego el rey Roboam á Adoram, que tenía cargo de los tributos; pero le apedrearon los hijos de Israel, y murió. Entonces se esforzó el rey Roboam, y subiendo en un carro huyó á Jerusalem.

Then king Rehoboam sent Hadoram that was over the tribute; and the children of Israel stoned him with stones, that he died. But king Rehoboam made speed to get him up to his chariot, to flee to Jerusalem.

Then King Rehoboam sent Hadoram, who was over the men subject to forced labor; and the children of Israel stoned him to death with stones. King Rehoboam hurried to get himself up to his chariot, to flee to Jerusalem.

So fiel Israel vom Hause Davids ab bis auf den heutigen Tag.

Así se apartó Israel de la casa de David hasta hoy.

And Israel rebelled against the house of David unto this day.

So Israel rebelled against David’s house to this day.
