Als Rehabeam sich aber auf dem Throne befestigt und seine Herrschaft gesichert hatte, fiel er und ganz Israel mit ihm vom Gesetz des HERRN ab.

Y COMO Roboam hubo confirmado el reino, dejó la ley de Jehová, y con él todo Israel.

Da zog im fünften Jahre der Regierung Rehabeams der König Sisak von Ägypten mit 1200 Wagen und 60000 Reitern gegen Jerusalem heran, weil sie treulos am HERRN gehandelt hatten;

Da trat der Prophet Semaja vor Rehabeam und vor die Fürsten Judas, die sich vor Sisak nach Jerusalem zurückgezogen hatten, und sagte zu ihnen: »So hat der HERR gesprochen: ›Ihr habt mich verlassen; so habe denn auch ich euch verlassen und euch der Gewalt Sisaks preisgegeben!‹«

Entonces vino Semeías profeta á Roboam y á los príncipes de Judá, que estaban reunidos en Jerusalem por causa de Sisac, y díjoles: Así ha dicho Jehová: Vosotros me habéis dejado, y yo también os he dejado en manos de Sisac.

Then came Shemaiah the prophet to Rehoboam, and to the princes of Judah, that were gathered together to Jerusalem because of Shishak, and said unto them, Thus saith the LORD, Ye have forsaken me, and therefore have I also left you in the hand of Shishak.

Da demütigten sich die Fürsten Judas mit dem Könige und bekannten: »Der HERR ist gerecht!«

Als nun der HERR sah, daß sie sich gedemütigt hatten, erging das Wort des HERRN an Semaja folgendermaßen: »Sie haben sich gedemütigt: ich will sie (daher) nicht vernichten, sondern ihnen in kurzem Rettung zuteil werden lassen, und mein Grimm soll sich nicht durch Sisak über Jerusalem ergießen!

Y como vió Jehová que se habían humillado, fué palabra de Jehová á Semeías, diciendo: Hanse humillado; no los destruiré; antes los salvaré en breve, y no se derramará mi ira contra Jerusalem por mano de Sisac.

So zog denn Sisak, der König von Ägypten, gegen Jerusalem heran und raubte die Schätze des Tempels des HERRN und die Schätze des königlichen Palastes: alles raubte er, auch die goldenen Schilde nahm er weg, die Salomo hatte anfertigen lassen.

Subió pues Sisac rey de Egipto á Jerusalem, y tomó los tesoros de la casa de Jehová, y los tesoros de la casa del rey; todo lo llevó: y tomó los paveses de oro que Salomón había hecho.

An deren Stelle ließ der König Rehabeam kupferne Schilde herstellen und übergab sie der Obhut der Befehlshaber seiner Leibwache, die am Eingang zum königlichen Palast die Wache hatte.

Y en lugar de ellos hizo el rey Roboam paveses de metal, y entrególos en manos de los jefes de la guardia, los cuales custodiaban la entrada de la casa del rey.

Sooft sich nun der König in den Tempel des HERRN begab, kamen die Leibwächter und trugen die Schilde und brachten sie dann wieder in das Wachtzimmer der Leibwache zurück.

Y cuando el rey iba á la casa de Jehová, venían los de la guardia, y traíanlos, y después los volvían á la cámara de la guardia.

And when the king entered into the house of the LORD, the guard came and fetched them, and brought them again into the guard chamber.

Weil er sich aber gedemütigt hatte, wandte sich der Zorn des HERRN von ihm ab, so daß er ihn nicht gänzlich zugrunde richtete; es fand sich ja damals auch in Juda noch manches Gute.

Y como él se humilló, la ira de Jehová se apartó de él, para no destruirlo del todo: y también en Judá las cosas fueron bien.

And when he humbled himself, the wrath of the LORD turned from him, that he would not destroy him altogether: and also in Judah things went well.

So befestigte sich denn der König Rehabeam zu Jerusalem wieder in der Herrschaft und regierte weiter; im Alter von einundvierzig Jahren nämlich hatte Rehabeam den Thron bestiegen, und siebzehn Jahre regierte er in Jerusalem, der Stadt, die der HERR aus allen Stämmen Israels erwählt hatte, um seinen Namen dort wohnen zu lassen. Seine Mutter hieß Naama und war eine Ammonitin.

Fortificado pues Roboam, reinó en Jerusalem: y era Roboam de cuarenta y un años cuando comenzó á reinar, y diecisiete años reinó en Jerusalem, ciudad que escogió Jehová de todas las tribus de Israel, para poner en ella su nombre. Y el nombre de su madre fué Naama Ammonita.

Er hatte aber böse gehandelt, weil er nicht darauf bedacht gewesen war, den HERRN zu suchen.

E hizo lo malo, porque no apercibió su corazón para buscar á Jehová.

And he did evil, because he prepared not his heart to seek the LORD.

Die Geschichte Rehabeams aber, die frühere wie die spätere, findet sich bekanntlich aufgezeichnet in der Geschichte des Propheten Semaja und in der des Sehers Iddo. Die Kriege zwischen Rehabeam und Jerobeam aber gingen ohne Unterbrechung fort.

Y las cosas de Roboam, primeras y postreras, ¿no están escritas en los libros de Semeías profeta y de Iddo vidente, en la cuenta de los linajes? Y entre Roboam y Jeroboam hubo perpetua guerra.

Als Rehabeam sich dann zu seinen Vätern gelegt hatte, wurde er in der Davidsstadt begraben, und sein Sohn Abia folgte ihm in der Regierung nach.
