Aos dezoito anos do rei Jeroboão, reinou Abias sobre Judá.

A LOS dieciocho años del rey Jeroboam, reinó Abías sobre Judá.

Now in the eighteenth year of king Jeroboam began Abijah to reign over Judah.

E reinou três anos em Jerusalém. O nome de sua mãe foi Micaia filha de Uriel de Gibeá. E havia guerra entre Abias e Jeroboão.

He reigned three years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name also was Michaiah the daughter of Uriel of Gibeah. And there was war between Abijah and Jeroboam.

Então ordenou Abias batalha com um exército de quatrocentos mil homens de guerra valentes e escolhidos: e Jeroboão ordenou batalha contra ele com oitocentos mil homens escolhidos, fortes e valentes.

And Abijah set the battle in array with an army of valiant men of war, even four hundred thousand chosen men: Jeroboam also set the battle in array against him with eight hundred thousand chosen men, being mighty men of valour.

E levantou-se Abias sobre o monte de Zemaraim, que é nos montes de Efraim, e disse: Ouvi-me, Jeroboão e todo Israel.

Não sabeis vós, que o SENHOR Deus de Israel deu o reino a Davi sobre Israel para sempre, a ele e a seus filhos em aliança de sal?

¿No sabéis vosotros, que Jehová Dios de Israel dió el reino á David sobre Israel para siempre, á él y á sus hijos en alianza de sal?

Ought ye not to know that the LORD God of Israel gave the kingdom over Israel to David for ever, even to him and to his sons by a covenant of salt?

Porém Jeroboão filho de Nebate, servo de Salomão filho de Davi, se levantou e rebelou contra seu senhor.

E se achegaram a ele homens vãos, filhos de iniquidade, e puderam mais que Roboão filho de Salomão, porque Roboão era jovem e tenro de coração, e não se defendeu deles.

And there are gathered unto him vain men, the children of Belial, and have strengthened themselves against Rehoboam the son of Solomon, when Rehoboam was young and tenderhearted, and could not withstand them.

E agora vós tratais de fortificar-vos contra o reino do SENHOR em mão dos filhos de Davi, porque sois muitos, e tendes convosco os bezerros de ouro que Jeroboão vos fez por deuses.

Y ahora vosotros tratáis de fortificaros contra el reino de Jehová en mano de los hijos de David, porque sois muchos, y tenéis con vosotros los becerros de oro que Jeroboam os hizo por dioses.

And now ye think to withstand the kingdom of the LORD in the hand of the sons of David; and ye be a great multitude, and there are with you golden calves, which Jeroboam made you for gods.

“Now you intend to withstand the kingdom of the LORD in the hand of the sons of David. You are a great multitude, and the golden calves which Jeroboam made you for gods are with you.

Não lançastes vós aos sacerdotes do SENHOR, aos filhos de Arão, e aos levitas, e vos haveis feito sacerdotes à maneira dos povos de outras terras, para que qualquer um venha a consagrar-se com um bezerro e sete carneiros, e assim seja sacerdote dos que não são Deuses?

¿No echasteis vosotros á los sacerdotes de Jehová, á los hijos de Aarón, y á los Levitas, y os habéis hecho sacerdotes á la manera de los pueblos de otras tierras, para que cualquiera venga á consagrarse con un becerro y siete carneros, y así sea sacerdote de los que no son dioses?

Have ye not cast out the priests of the LORD, the sons of Aaron, and the Levites, and have made you priests after the manner of the nations of other lands? so that whosoever cometh to consecrate himself with a young bullock and seven rams, the same may be a priest of them that are no gods.

Haven’t you driven out the priests of the LORD, the sons of Aaron, and the Levites, and made priests for yourselves according to the ways of the peoples of other lands? Whoever comes to consecrate himself with a young bull and seven rams may be a priest of those who are no gods.

Mas em quanto a nós, o SENHOR é nosso Deus, e não lhe deixamos: e os sacerdotes que ministram ao SENHOR são os filhos de Arão, e os levitas na obra;

Os quais queimam ao SENHOR os holocaustos cada manhã e cada tarde, e os perfumes aromáticos; e põem os pães sobre a mesa limpa, e o candelabro de ouro com suas lâmpadas para que ardam cada tarde: porque nós guardamos a ordenança do SENHOR nosso Deus; mas vós o deixastes.

Los cuales queman á Jehová los holocaustos cada mañana y cada tarde, y los perfumes aromáticos; y ponen los panes sobre la mesa limpia, y el candelero de oro con sus candilejas para que ardan cada tarde: porque nosotros guardamos la ordenanza de Jehová nuestro Dios; mas vosotros le habéis dejado.

And they burn unto the LORD every morning and every evening burnt sacrifices and sweet incense: the shewbread also set they in order upon the pure table; and the candlestick of gold with the lamps thereof, to burn every evening: for we keep the charge of the LORD our God; but ye have forsaken him.

E eis que Deus está com nós por cabeça, e seus sacerdotes com as trombetas do júbilo para que soem contra vós. Ó filhos de Israel, não luteis contra o SENHOR o Deus de vossos pais, porque não vos sucederá bem.

Y he aquí Dios está con nosotros por cabeza, y sus sacerdotes con las trompetas del júbilo para que suenen contra vosotros. Oh hijos de Israel, no peleéis contra Jehová el Dios de vuestros padres, porque no os sucederá bien.

And, behold, God himself is with us for our captain, and his priests with sounding trumpets to cry alarm against you. O children of Israel, fight ye not against the LORD God of your fathers; for ye shall not prosper.

Porém Jeroboão preparou uma emboscada para vir a eles pela retaguarda: e estando assim diante deles, a emboscada estava à retaguarda de Judá.

E quando olhou Judá, eis que tinha batalha diante e às costas; por isso que clamaram ao SENHOR, e os sacerdotes tocaram as trombetas.

E fugiram os filhos de Israel diante de Judá, e Deus os entregou em suas mãos.

E Abias e sua gente faziam em eles grande mortandade; e caíram feridos de Israel quinhentos mil homens escolhidos.

And Abijah and his people slew them with a great slaughter: so there fell down slain of Israel five hundred thousand chosen men.

Assim foram humilhados os filhos de Israel naquele tempo: mas os filhos de Judá se fortificaram, porque se apoiavam no SENHOR o Deus de seus pais.

Así fueron humillados los hijos de Israel en aquel tiempo: mas los hijos de Judá se fortificaron, porque se apoyaban en Jehová el Dios de sus padres.

E seguiu Abias a Jeroboão, e tomou-lhe algumas cidades, a Betel com suas aldeias, a Jesana com suas aldeias, e a Efraim com suas aldeias.

And Abijah pursued after Jeroboam, and took cities from him, Beth-el with the towns thereof, and Jeshanah with the towns thereof, and Ephrain with the towns thereof.

E nunca mais teve Jeroboão poderio nos dias de Abias: e feriu-lhe o SENHOR, e morreu.
