L'ANNO diciottesimo del re Geroboamo, Abia cominciò a regnare sopra Giuda.

A LOS dieciocho años del rey Jeroboam, reinó Abías sobre Judá.

Now in the eighteenth year of king Jeroboam began Abijah to reign over Judah.

Entonces ordenó Abías batalla con un ejército de cuatrocientos mil hombres de guerra valerosos y escogidos: y Jeroboam ordenó batalla contra él con ochocientos mil hombres escogidos, fuertes y valerosos.

Ed Abia si levò in piè disopra al monte di Semaraim, che è nelle montagne di Efraim, e disse: O Geroboamo, e tutto Israle, ascoltatemi:

¿No sabéis vosotros, que Jehová Dios de Israel dió el reino á David sobre Israel para siempre, á él y á sus hijos en alianza de sal?

Ought ye not to know that the LORD God of Israel gave the kingdom over Israel to David for ever, even to him and to his sons by a covenant of salt?

Ma Geroboamo, figliuolo di Nebat, servo di Salomone, figliuolo di Davide, si è levato, e si è ribellato contro al suo signore.

E certi uomini da nulla e scellerati, si sono adunati appresso di lui, e si sono fortificati contro a Roboamo, figliuolo di Salomone, il quale essendo giovane, e di cuor molle, non ha contrastato loro valorosamente.

And there are gathered unto him vain men, the children of Belial, and have strengthened themselves against Rehoboam the son of Solomon, when Rehoboam was young and tenderhearted, and could not withstand them.

Ed ora voi pensate di resistere ostinatamente al regno del Signore, che è fra le mani de' figliuoli di Davide; perciocchè voi siete una gran moltitudine, ed avete con voi i vitelli d'oro che Geroboamo vi ha fatti per dii.

Y ahora vosotros tratáis de fortificaros contra el reino de Jehová en mano de los hijos de David, porque sois muchos, y tenéis con vosotros los becerros de oro que Jeroboam os hizo por dioses.

And now ye think to withstand the kingdom of the LORD in the hand of the sons of David; and ye be a great multitude, and there are with you golden calves, which Jeroboam made you for gods.

Non avete voi scacciati i sacerdoti del Signore, i figliuoli d'Aaronne, ed i Leviti? e non vi avete voi fatti de' sacerdoti nella maniera de' popoli de' paesi? chiunque si è presentato per consacrarsi con un giovenco, e con sette montoni? e così è divenuto sacerdote di quelli che non son dii.

¿No echasteis vosotros á los sacerdotes de Jehová, á los hijos de Aarón, y á los Levitas, y os habéis hecho sacerdotes á la manera de los pueblos de otras tierras, para que cualquiera venga á consagrarse con un becerro y siete carneros, y así sea sacerdote de los que no son dioses?

Have ye not cast out the priests of the LORD, the sons of Aaron, and the Levites, and have made you priests after the manner of the nations of other lands? so that whosoever cometh to consecrate himself with a young bullock and seven rams, the same may be a priest of them that are no gods.

Haven’t you driven out the priests of the LORD, the sons of Aaron, and the Levites, and made priests for yourselves according to the ways of the peoples of other lands? Whoever comes to consecrate himself with a young bull and seven rams may be a priest of those who are no gods.

Ma quant'è a noi, il Signore è l'Iddio nostro, e noi non l'abbiamo abbandonato; ed i sacerdoti, che ministrano al Signore, sono figliuoli d'Aaronne; ed i Leviti sono impiegati a questa opera;

ed ogni mattina, ed ogni sera ardono gli olocausti al Signore, co' profumi degli aromati; ed ordinano i pani che si devono ordinare sopra la tavola pura; ed ogni sera accendono il candelliere d'oro con le sue lampane; perciocchè noi osserviamo ciò che il Signore ha ordinato; ma voi avete abbandonato il Signore.

Los cuales queman á Jehová los holocaustos cada mañana y cada tarde, y los perfumes aromáticos; y ponen los panes sobre la mesa limpia, y el candelero de oro con sus candilejas para que ardan cada tarde: porque nosotros guardamos la ordenanza de Jehová nuestro Dios; mas vosotros le habéis dejado.

Ed ecco, Iddio è con noi in capo, insieme co' suoi sacerdoti, e con le trombe di suono squillante, per sonar con esse contro a voi. Figliuoli d'Israele, non combattete contro al Signore Iddio de' padri vostri; perciocchè voi non prosperete.

Y he aquí Dios está con nosotros por cabeza, y sus sacerdotes con las trompetas del júbilo para que suenen contra vosotros. Oh hijos de Israel, no peleéis contra Jehová el Dios de vuestros padres, porque no os sucederá bien.

And, behold, God himself is with us for our captain, and his priests with sounding trumpets to cry alarm against you. O children of Israel, fight ye not against the LORD God of your fathers; for ye shall not prosper.

In quel mezzo Geroboamo fece volgere un agguato, perchè venisse sopra que' di Giuda di dietro; talchè Giuda avea gl'Israeliti in fronte, e l'agguato alle spalle.

E Geroboamo non ebbe più potere alcuno al tempo di Abia; e il Signore lo percosse, ed egli morì.
