And Azarias the son of Oded—upon him came the Spirit of the Lord,

and he went out to meet Asa, and all Juda and Benjamin, and said, Hear me, Asa, and all Juda and Benjamin. The Lord is with you, while ye are with him; and if ye seek him out, he will be found of you; but if ye forsake him, he will forsake you.

Y salió al encuentro á Asa, y díjole: Oidme, Asa, y todo Judá y Benjamín: Jehová es con vosotros, si vosotros fuereis con él: y si le buscareis, será hallado de vosotros; mas si le dejareis, él también os dejará.

And he went out to meet Asa, and said unto him, Hear ye me, Asa, and all Judah and Benjamin; The LORD is with you, while ye be with him; and if ye seek him, he will be found of you; but if ye forsake him, he will forsake you.

And Israel has been a long time without the true God, and without a priest to expound the truth, and without the law.

Muchos días ha estado Israel sin verdadero Dios y sin sacerdote, y sin enseñador y sin ley:

Mas cuando en su tribulación se convirtieron á Jehová Dios de Israel, y le buscaron, él fué hallado de ellos.

And in that time there is no peace to one going out, or to one coming in, for the terror of the Lord is upon all that inhabit the lands.

En aquellos tiempos no hubo paz, ni para el que entraba, ni para el que salía, sino muchas aflicciones sobre todos los habitadores de las tierras.

And in those times there was no peace to him that went out, nor to him that came in, but great vexations were upon all the inhabitants of the countries.

And nation shall fight against nation, and city against city; for God has confounded them with every kind of affliction.

Y la una gente destruía á la otra, y una ciudad á otra ciudad: porque Dios los conturbó con todas calamidades.

And nation was destroyed of nation, and city of city: for God did vex them with all adversity.

They were broken in pieces, nation against nation, and city against city; for God troubled them with all adversity.

But be ye strong, and let not your hands be weakened: for there is a reward for your work.

Esforzaos empero vosotros, y no desfallezcan vuestras manos; que salario hay para vuestra obra.

But you be strong! Don’t let your hands be slack, for your work will be rewarded.”

And when Asa heard these words, and the prophesy of Alex. Azaria Adad the prophet, then he strengthened himself, and cast out the abominations from all the land of Juda and Benjamin, and from the cities which Jeroboam possessed, in mount Ephraim, and he Or, consecrated renewed the altar of the Lord, which was before the temple of the Lord.

Y como oyó Asa las palabras y profecía de Obed profeta, fué confortado, y quitó las abominaciones de toda la tierra de Judá y de Benjamín, y de las ciudades que él había tomado en el monte de Ephraim; y reparó el altar de Jehová que estaba delante del pórtico de Jehová.

And when Asa heard these words, and the prophecy of Oded the prophet, he took courage, and put away the abominable idols out of all the land of Judah and Benjamin, and out of the cities which he had taken from mount Ephraim, and renewed the altar of the LORD, that was before the porch of the LORD.

Después hizo juntar á todo Judá y Benjamín, y con ellos los extranjeros de Ephraim, y de Manasés, y de Simeón: porque muchos de Israel se habían pasado á él, viendo que Jehová su Dios era con él.

And he gathered all Judah and Benjamin, and the strangers with them out of Ephraim and Manasseh, and out of Simeon: for they fell to him out of Israel in abundance, when they saw that the LORD his God was with him.

And they assembled at Jerusalem in the third month, in the fifteenth year of the reign of Asa.

And they swore to the Lord with a loud voice, and with trumpets, and with cornets.

Y aun á Maachâ madre del rey Asa, él mismo la depuso de su dignidad, porque había hecho un ídolo en el bosque: y Asa deshizo su ídolo, y lo desmenuzó, y quemó en el torrente de Cedrón.

And also concerning Maachah the mother of Asa the king, he removed her from being queen, because she had made an idol in a grove: and Asa cut down her idol, and stamped it, and burnt it at the brook Kidron.

Nevertheless they removed not the high places: they still existed in Israel: nevertheless the heart of Asa was Gr. full perfect all his days.
