And after certain years he went down to Ahab to Samaria. And Ahab killed sheep and oxen for him in abundance, and for the people that he had with him, and persuaded him to go up with him to Ramoth-gilead.

And Ahab king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat king of Judah, Wilt thou go with me to Ramoth-gilead? And he answered him, I am as thou art, and my people as thy people; and we will be with thee in the war.

And Jehoshaphat said unto the king of Israel, Enquire, I pray thee, at the word of the LORD to day.

Le roi d’Israël réunit les prophètes, au nombre de quatre cents, et leur dit: "Devons-nous aller en guerre contre Ramot en Galaad, ou dois-je m’abstenir?" Ils répondirent: "Va, l’Eternel livrera la ville au pouvoir du roi."
Entonces el rey de Israel juntó cuatrocientos profetas, y díjoles: ¿Iremos á la guerra contra Ramoth de Galaad, ó estaréme yo quieto? Y ellos dijeron: Sube, que Dios los entregará en mano del rey.
Therefore the king of Israel gathered together of prophets four hundred men, and said unto them, Shall we go to Ramoth-gilead to battle, or shall I forbear? And they said, Go up; for God will deliver it into the king’s hand.

Mais Josaphat insista: "N’y a-t-il pas ici encore un prophète de l’Eternel que nous puissions interroger?"

Il y a bien encore un homme, dit le roi d’Israël à Josaphat, à qui nous pourrions demander ce que dit l’Eternel, mais je le hais, car il ne me prédit jamais rien de bon, mais toujours du mal. C’est Mikhayou, fils de Yimla." Josaphat se récria: "Que le roi ne tienne pas un pareil langage!"
Y el rey de Israel respondió á Josaphat: Aun hay aquí un hombre por el cual podemos preguntar á Jehová: mas yo le aborrezco, porque nunca me profetiza cosa buena, sino siempre mal. Este es Michêas, hijo de Imla. Y respondió Josaphat: No hable así el rey.
And the king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat, There is yet one man, by whom we may enquire of the LORD: but I hate him; for he never prophesied good unto me, but always evil: the same is Micaiah the son of Imla. And Jehoshaphat said, Let not the king say so.
The king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, “There is yet one man by whom we may inquire of the LORD; but I hate him, for he never prophesies good concerning me, but always evil. He is Micaiah the son of Imla.” Jehoshaphat said, “Don’t let the king say so.”
Le roi d’Israël manda un officier et lui ordonna d’amener à la hâte Mikhayou, fils de Yimla.
Entonces el rey de Israel llamó un eunuco, y díjole: Haz venir luego á Michêas hijo de Imla.
And the king of Israel called for one of his officers, and said, Fetch quickly Micaiah the son of Imla.
Then the king of Israel called an officer, and said, “Get Micaiah the son of Imla quickly.”
Cependant, le roi d’Israël et Josaphat, roi de Juda, revêtus de leurs insignes, étaient assis chacun sur son trône, dans une aire, à l’entrée de la porte de Samarie, et tous les prophètes prophétisaient devant eux.

And the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat king of Judah sat either of them on his throne, clothed in their robes, and they sat in a void place at the entering in of the gate of Samaria; and all the prophets prophesied before them.

And Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah had made him horns of iron, and said, Thus saith the LORD, With these thou shalt push Syria until they be consumed.
Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah made himself horns of iron and said, “The LORD says, ‘With these you shall push the Syrians, until they are consumed.’”
Tous les prophètes prophétisaient de même et parlaient ainsi: "Monte contre Ramot en Galaad, et tu triompheras; l’Eternel livrera la ville au pouvoir du roi."
De esta manera profetizaban también todos los profetas, diciendo: Sube á Ramoth de Galaad, y sé prosperado; porque Jehová la entregará en mano del rey.
And all the prophets prophesied so, saying, Go up to Ramoth-gilead, and prosper: for the LORD shall deliver it into the hand of the king.

De son côté, le messager qui était allé appeler Mikhayou lui avait dit: "Les prédictions des prophètes sont unanimement favorables au roi; prononce donc le même oracle qu’eux tous. Annonce le succès."
Y el mensajero que había ido á llamar á Michêas, le habló, diciendo: He aquí las palabras de los profetas á una boca anuncian al rey bienes; yo pues te ruego que tu palabra sea como la de uno de ellos, que hables bien.
And the messenger that went to call Micaiah spake to him, saying, Behold, the words of the prophets declare good to the king with one assent; let thy word therefore, I pray thee, be like one of theirs, and speak thou good.
The messenger who went to call Micaiah spoke to him, saying, “Behold, the words of the prophets declare good to the king with one mouth. Let your word therefore, please be like one of theirs, and speak good.”
Mais Mikhayou avait répondu: "Vive Dieu! ce que l’Eternel me dictera, je le dirai."
Y dijo Michêas: Vive Jehová, que lo que mi Dios me dijere, eso hablaré. Y vino al rey.
And Micaiah said, As the LORD liveth, even what my God saith, that will I speak.
Micaiah said, “As the LORD lives, I will say what my God says.”
Il vint auprès du roi, qui lui dit: "Mikha, irons-nous en guerre contre Ramot en Galaad, ou m’abstiendrai-je?" Il répondit: "Allez, et vous triompherez; ils seront livrés en votre pouvoir."
Y el rey le dijo: Michêas, ¿iremos á pelear contra Ramoth de Galaad, ó estaréme yo quieto? Y él respondió: Subid, que seréis prosperados, que serán entregados en vuestras manos.
And when he was come to the king, the king said unto him, Micaiah, shall we go to Ramoth-gilead to battle, or shall I forbear? And he said, Go ye up, and prosper, and they shall be delivered into your hand.
When he had come to the king, the king said to him, “Micaiah, shall we go to Ramoth Gilead to battle, or shall I forbear?” He said, “Go up, and prosper. They shall be delivered into your hand.”
Le roi lui dit: "Combien de fois t’adjurerai-je de me dire uniquement la vérité au nom de l’Eternel?"
Y el rey le dijo: ¿Hasta cuántas veces te conjuraré por el nombre de Jehová que no me hables sino la verdad?
And the king said to him, How many times shall I adjure thee that thou say nothing but the truth to me in the name of the LORD?
The king said to him, “How many times shall I adjure you that you speak to me nothing but the truth in the LORD’s name?”
Il répondit: "J’ai vu tout Israël dispersé sur les montagnes, comme un troupeau sans pasteur; et l’Eternel disait: Plus de chefs pour les diriger; qu’ils retournent, chacun chez soi, en paix!"
Entonces él dijo: He visto á todo Israel derramado por los montes como ovejas sin pastor: y dijo Jehová: Estos no tienen señor; vuélvase cada uno en paz á su casa.
Then he said, I did see all Israel scattered upon the mountains, as sheep that have no shepherd: and the LORD said, These have no master; let them return therefore every man to his house in peace.
He said, “I saw all Israel scattered on the mountains, as sheep that have no shepherd. The LORD said, ‘These have no master. Let them each return to his house in peace.’”
Le roi d’Israël dit alors à Josaphat: "Ne t’avais-je pas prévenu que cet homme ne me prédit que le mal et jamais le bien?"
Y el rey de Israel dijo á Josaphat: ¿No te había yo dicho que no me profetizaría bien, sino mal?
And the king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, Did I not tell thee that he would not prophesy good unto me, but evil?
The king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, “Didn’t I tell you that he would not prophesy good concerning me, but evil?”
"Ecoutez donc, reprit Mikhayou, la parole de l’Eternel: j’ai vu le Seigneur assis sur son trône, tandis que toute l’armée céleste se tenait debout à sa droite et à sa gauche.
Entonces él dijo: Oid pues palabra de Jehová: Yo he visto á Jehová sentado en su trono, y todo el ejército de los cielos estaba á su mano derecha y á su izquierda.
Again he said, Therefore hear the word of the LORD; I saw the LORD sitting upon his throne, and all the host of heaven standing on his right hand and on his left.
Micaiah said, “Therefore hear the LORD’s word: I saw the LORD sitting on his throne, and all the army of heaven standing on his right hand and on his left.
Et l’Eternel dit: Qui ira séduire Achab, roi d’Israël, afin qu’il monte contre Ramot en Galaad, et y succombe? Celui-ci répondit de telle façon, celui-là de telle autre.
Y Jehová dijo: ¿Quién inducirá á Achâb rey de Israel, para que suba y caiga en Ramoth de Galaad? Y uno decía así, y otro decía de otra manera.
And the LORD said, Who shall entice Ahab king of Israel, that he may go up and fall at Ramoth-gilead? And one spake saying after this manner, and another saying after that manner.
The LORD said, ‘Who will entice Ahab king of Israel, that he may go up and fall at Ramoth Gilead?’ One spoke saying in this way, and another saying in that way.
Mais l’Esprit s’avança droit devant l’Eternel et dit: Moi, je veux l’égarer. Et comment cela? demanda le Seigneur.
Mas salió un espíritu, que se puso delante de Jehová, y dijo: Yo le induciré. Y Jehová le dijo: ¿De qué modo?
Then there came out a spirit, and stood before the LORD, and said, I will entice him. And the LORD said unto him, Wherewith?
A spirit came out, stood before the LORD, and said, ‘I will entice him.’ “The LORD said to him, ‘How?’
Il répondit: J’irai, et je serai un esprit de mensonge dans la bouche de tous ses prophètes. Tu réussiras à le tromper, reprit le Seigneur; va donc et fais cela.
Y él dijo: Saldré y seré espíritu de mentira en la boca de todos sus profetas. Y Jehová dijo: Incita, y también prevalece: sal, y hazlo así.
And he said, I will go out, and be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets. And the Lord said, Thou shalt entice him, and thou shalt also prevail: go out, and do even so.
“He said, ‘I will go, and will be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets.’ “He said, ‘You will entice him, and will prevail also. Go and do so.’
Et maintenant, oui, l’Eternel a mis un esprit de mensonge dans la bouche de tes prophètes que voici, parce qu’il a résolu ta perte."
Y he aquí ahora ha puesto Jehová espíritu de mentira en la boca de estos tus profetas; mas Jehová ha decretado el mal acerca de ti.
Now therefore, behold, the LORD hath put a lying spirit in the mouth of these thy prophets, and the LORD hath spoken evil against thee.
“Now therefore, behold, the LORD has put a lying spirit in the mouth of these your prophets; and the LORD has spoken evil concerning you.”
Alors Sédécias, fils de Kenaana, s’approcha de Mikhayou et le frappa au visage, en disant: "Par quelle voie l’esprit du Seigneur a-t-il passé de moi à toi pour te parler?"
Entonces Sedechîas hijo de Chênaana se llegó á él, é hirió á Michêas en la mejilla, y dijo: ¿Por qué camino se apartó de mí el espíritu de Jehová para hablarte á ti?
Then Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah came near, and smote Micaiah upon the cheek, and said, Which way went the Spirit of the LORD from me to speak unto thee?
Then Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah came near, and struck Micaiah on the cheek, and said, “Which way did the LORD’s Spirit go from me to speak to you?”
Mikhayou répondit: "Tu le verras le jour où tu iras te réfugier de chambre en chambre pour te mettre à l’abri."
Y Michêas respondió: He aquí tú lo verás aquel día, cuando te entrarás de cámara en cámara para esconderte.
And Micaiah said, Behold, thou shalt see on that day when thou shalt go into an inner chamber to hide thyself.
Micaiah said, “Behold, you shall see on that day, when you go into an inner room to hide yourself.”
Le roi d’Israël ordonna aussitôt de se saisir de Mikhayou et de le remettre à Amôn, le gouverneur de la ville, et au prince royal Joas,
Entonces el rey de Israel dijo: Tomad á Michêas, y volvedlo á Amón gobernador de la ciudad, y á Joas hijo del rey.
Then the king of Israel said, Take ye Micaiah, and carry him back to Amon the governor of the city, and to Joash the king’s son;

à qui il fit dire: "Suivant l’ordre du roi, jetez cet homme en prison et nourrissez-le du pain et de l’eau de misère jusqu’à mon heureux retour."
Y diréis: El rey ha dicho así: Poned á éste en la cárcel, y sustentadle con pan de aflicción y agua de angustia, hasta que yo vuelva en paz.
And say, Thus saith the king, Put this fellow in the prison, and feed him with bread of affliction and with water of affliction, until I return in peace.
and say, ‘The king says, “Put this fellow in the prison, and feed him with bread of affliction and with water of affliction, until I return in peace.”’”
"Ah! si tu reviens en paix, s’écria Mikhayou, ce n’est pas l’Eternel qui m’aura inspiré." Il ajouta: "Soyez-en témoins, vous tous ici réunis!"
Y Michêas dijo: Si tú volvieres en paz, Jehová no ha hablado por mí. Dijo además: Oidlo, pueblos todos.
And Micaiah said, If thou certainly return in peace, then hath not the LORD spoken by me. And he said, Hearken, all ye people.
Micaiah said, “If you return at all in peace, the LORD has not spoken by me.” He said, “Listen, you people, all of you!”
Cependant le roi d’Israël et Josaphat, roi de Juda, montèrent contre Ramot en Galaad.
Subió pues el rey de Israel, y Josaphat rey de Judá, á Ramoth de Galaad.

And the king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat, I will disguise myself, and will go to the battle; but put thou on thy robes. So the king of Israel disguised himself; and they went to the battle.

Or, le roi de Syrie avait donné l’ordre suivant aux commandants de sa cavalerie: "Ne dirigez vos coups contre petit ni grand, mais visez uniquement le roi d’Israël."
Había el rey de Siria mandado á los capitanes de los carros que tenía consigo, diciendo: No peleéis con chico ni con grande, sino sólo con el rey de Israel.
Now the king of Syria had commanded the captains of the chariots that were with him, saying, Fight ye not with small or great, save only with the king of Israel.
Now the king of Syria had commanded the captains of his chariots, saying, “Don’t fight with small nor great, except only with the king of Israel.”
Lorsque les chefs de la cavalerie aperçurent Josaphat, ils se dirent: "Ce n’est autre que le roi d’Israël", et ils cherchèrent à l’entourer pour le frapper. Josaphat poussa des cris, et l’Eternel, venant à son secours, les détourna de lui.
Y como los capitanes de los carros vieron á Josaphat, dijeron: Este es el rey de Israel. Y cercáronlo para pelear; mas Josaphat clamó, y ayudólo Jehová, y apartólos Dios de él:
And it came to pass, when the captains of the chariots saw Jehoshaphat, that they said, It is the king of Israel. Therefore they compassed about him to fight: but Jehoshaphat cried out, and the LORD helped him; and God moved them to depart from him.
When the captains of the chariots saw Jehoshaphat, they said, “It is the king of Israel!” Therefore they turned around to fight against him. But Jehoshaphat cried out, and the LORD helped him; and God moved them to depart from him.
Les chefs de la cavalerie reconnurent que ce n’était pas le roi d’Israël et s’éloignèrent.

For it came to pass, that, when the captains of the chariots perceived that it was not the king of Israel, they turned back again from pursuing him.

Mais un soldat tira de l’arc au hasard et atteignit le roi au défaut de la cuirasse. Achab dit à son conducteur: "Tourne bride et fais-moi sortir de la mêlée, car je suis grièvement blessé."
Mas disparando uno el arco á la ventura, hirió al rey de Israel entre las junturas y el coselete. El entonces dijo al carretero: Vuelve tu mano, y sácame del campo, porque estoy mal herido.
And a certain man drew a bow at a venture, and smote the king of Israel between the joints of the harness: therefore he said to his chariot man, Turn thine hand, that thou mayest carry me out of the host; for I am wounded.
A certain man drew his bow at random, and struck the king of Israel between the joints of the armor. Therefore he said to the driver of the chariot, “Turn around and carry me out of the battle, for I am severely wounded.”
La bataille fut rude en ce jour. Cependant le roi d’Israël était resté debout sur son char, en face du Syrien, jusqu’au soir. Il expira vers le moment du coucher du soleil.
Y arreció la batalla aquel día, por lo que estuvo el rey de Israel en pie en el carro enfrente de los Siros hasta la tarde; mas murió á puestas del sol.
And the battle increased that day: howbeit the king of Israel stayed himself up in his chariot against the Syrians until the even: and about the time of the sun going down he died.
The battle increased that day. However, the king of Israel propped himself up in his chariot against the Syrians until the evening; and at about sunset, he died.
