o vidente Jeú, filho de Hanani, saiu ao encontro do rei e lhe perguntou: “Devia você ajudar os maus e amar aqueles que odeiam o Senhor? Por causa do que você fez, a ira do Senhor está sobre você.
Y salióle al encuentro Jehú el vidente, hijo de Hanani, y dijo al rey Josaphat: ¿Al impío das ayuda, y amas á los que aborrecen á Jehová? Pues la ira de la presencia de Jehová será sobre ti por ello.
And Jehu the son of Hanani the seer went out to meet him, and said to king Jehoshaphat, Shouldest thou help the ungodly, and love them that hate the LORD? therefore is wrath upon thee from before the LORD.

Mas há algumas coisas boas em você, porque você mandou retirar as imagens vergonhosas de Aserá que havia no país e procurou ser fiel a Deus de todo o coração”.
Empero se han hallado en ti buenas cosas, porque cortaste de la tierra los bosques, y has apercibido tu corazón á buscar á Dios.
Nevertheless there are good things found in thee, in that thou hast taken away the groves out of the land, and hast prepared thine heart to seek God.

Depois disso, Josafá morou em segurança em Jerusalém. Mais tarde ele saiu outra vez pela nação, viajando desde Berseba até a região montanhosa de Efraim, para animar todos a adorarem o Deus dos seus antepassados.
Habitó pues Josaphat en Jerusalem; mas daba vuelta y salía al pueblo, desde Beer-seba hasta el monte de Ephraim, y reducíalos á Jehová el Dios de sus padres.
And Jehoshaphat dwelt at Jerusalem: and he went out again through the people from Beer-sheba to mount Ephraim, and brought them back unto the LORD God of their fathers.

Nomeou juízes, que colocou em todas as cidades fortificadas de Judá,

dando a seguinte ordem: “Tomem cuidado, pois foi o próprio Deus que nomeou vocês; e ele ficará ao lado de vocês, e os ajudará a fazer justiça em cada caso que for apresentado.

And said to the judges, Take heed what ye do: for ye judge not for man, but for the LORD, who is with you in the judgment.

Agora, que o temor do Senhor esteja com vocês para que não torçam a justiça a favor de ninguém, pois o Senhor, o nosso Deus, não tolera os que cometem injustiça, nem que façam acepção de pessoas nos julgamentos, nem que recebam presentes para julgar a favor de qualquer pessoa”.
Sea pues con vosotros el temor de Jehová; guardad y haced: porque en Jehová nuestro Dios no hay iniquidad, ni acepción de personas, ni recibir cohecho.
Wherefore now let the fear of the LORD be upon you; take heed and do it: for there is no iniquity with the LORD our God, nor respect of persons, nor taking of gifts.

Josafá estabeleceu tribunais em Jerusalém e colocou alguns levitas, sacerdotes e chefes de famílias para julgarem questões da lei do Senhor e as causas dos habitantes da cidade.
Y puso también Josaphat en Jerusalem algunos de los Levitas y sacerdotes, y de los padres de familias de Israel, para el juicio de Jehová y para las causas. Y volviéronse á Jerusalem.
Moreover in Jerusalem did Jehoshaphat set of the Levites, and of the priests, and of the chief of the fathers of Israel, for the judgment of the LORD, and for controversies, when they returned to Jerusalem.
Moreover in Jerusalem Jehoshaphat appointed certain Levites, priests, and heads of the fathers’ households of Israel to give judgment for the LORD and for controversies. They returned to Jerusalem.
Estas foram as instruções dadas a eles: “Vocês devem agir sempre com fidelidade e com corações honestos, no temor do Senhor.
Y mandóles, diciendo: Procederéis asimismo con temor de Jehová, con verdad, y con corazón íntegro.
And he charged them, saying, Thus shall ye do in the fear of the LORD, faithfully, and with a perfect heart.
He commanded them, saying, “You shall do this in the fear of the LORD, faithfully, and with a perfect heart.
Toda vez que os seus irmãos israelitas das outras cidades mandarem um caso para vocês resolverem, seja um caso de crime ou de desobediência às leis e aos mandamentos, decretos ou ordenanças, esclareçam o assunto para eles para que não cometam pecados contra o Senhor, para que a ira dele não venha sobre vocês e sobre eles. Se vocês fizerem isto, estarão livres de culpa”.
En cualquier causa que viniere á vosotros de vuestros hermanos que habitan en las ciudades, entre sangre y sangre, entre ley y precepto, estatutos y derechos, habéis de amonestarles que no pequen contra Jehová, porque no venga ira sobre vosotros y sobre vuestros hermanos. Obrando así no pecaréis.
And what cause soever shall come to you of your brethren that dwell in their cities, between blood and blood, between law and commandment, statutes and judgments, ye shall even warn them that they trespass not against the LORD, and so wrath come upon you, and upon your brethren: this do, and ye shall not trespass.
Whenever any controversy comes to you from your brothers who dwell in their cities, between blood and blood, between law and commandment, statutes and ordinances, you must warn them, that they not be guilty toward the LORD, and so wrath come on you and on your brothers. Do this, and you will not be guilty.
“Amarias, o sumo sacerdote, ajudará vocês a tomarem as decisões finais nos casos de desobediência em assuntos sagrados; e Zebadias, filho de Ismael, líder da tribo de Judá, ajudará vocês nas decisões finais nos casos de desobediência às ordens do rei. Eles contam com o auxílio dos levitas. Sejam corajosos no cumprimento dos seus deveres. E que o Senhor esteja com aqueles que agirem corretamente”.
Y he aquí Amarías sacerdote será el que os presida en todo negocio de Jehová; y Zebadías hijo de Ismael, príncipe de la casa de Judá, en todos los negocios del rey; también los Levitas serán oficiales en presencia de vosotros. Esforzaos pues, y obrad; que Jehová será con el bueno.
And, behold, Amariah the chief priest is over you in all matters of the LORD; and Zebadiah the son of Ishmael, the ruler of the house of Judah, for all the king’s matters: also the Levites shall be officers before you. Deal courageously, and the LORD shall be with the good.
