1Und Salomo, der Sohn Davids, erstarkte in seinem Königreich; und Jehova, sein Gott, war mit ihm und machte ihn überaus groß.
2Und Salomo redete zu ganz Israel, zu den Obersten über tausend und über hundert, und zu den Richtern und zu allen Fürsten von ganz Israel, den Häuptern der Väter;
3und sie gingen, Salomo und die ganze Versammlung mit ihm, nach der Höhe, die zu Gibeon war; denn dort war das Zelt der Zusammenkunft Gottes, welches Mose, der Knecht Jehovas, in der Wüste gemacht hatte.
4Jedoch die Lade Gottes hatte David von Kirjath-Jearim heraufgebracht an den Ort, welchen David für sie bereitet hatte; denn er hatte ihr zu Jerusalem ein Zelt aufgeschlagen.
5Und der eherne Altar, den Bezaleel, der Sohn Uris, des Sohnes Hurs, gemacht hatte, war daselbst vor der Wohnung Jehovas; und Salomo und die Versammlung besuchten ihn.
6Und Salomo opferte daselbst vor Jehova auf dem ehernen Altar, der bei dem Zelte der Zusammenkunft war; und er opferte auf demselben tausend Brandopfer.
7In selbiger Nacht erschien Gott dem Salomo und sprach zu ihm: Bitte, was ich dir geben soll.
8Und Salomo sprach zu Gott: Du hast ja an David, meinem Vater, große Güte erwiesen, und du hast mich zum König gemacht an seiner Statt:
9nun möge sich, Jehova Gott, dein Wort bewähren, das du zu meinem Vater David geredet hast! Denn du hast mich zum König gemacht über ein Volk, das zahlreich ist wie der Staub der Erde.
10Gib mir nun Weisheit und Erkenntnis daß ich vor diesem Volke aus-und eingehen möge; denn wer könnte dieses dein großes Volk richten? -
11Und Gott sprach zu Salomo: Weil dieses in deinem Herzen gewesen ist, und du nicht gebeten hast um Reichtum, Güter und Ehre, und um das Leben derer, die dich hassen, und auch nicht um viele Tage gebeten, sondern dir Weisheit und Erkenntnis erbeten hast, damit du mein Volk richten mögest, über welches ich dich zum König gemacht habe:
12so sind dir Weisheit und Erkenntnis gegeben; und Reichtum und Güter und Ehre will ich dir geben, dergleichen die Könige, die vor dir gewesen sind, nicht gehabt haben, und dergleichen keiner nach dir haben wird.
13Und Salomo kam von der Höhe, die zu Gibeon war, von dem Zelte der Zusammenkunft nach Jerusalem. Und er regierte über Israel.
14Und Salomo brachte Wagen und Reiter zusammen, und er hatte tausend vierhundert Wagen und zwölftausend Reiter; und er verlegte sie in die Wagenstädte und zu dem König nach Jerusalem.
15Und der König machte das Silber und das Gold in Jerusalem den Steinen gleich, und die Zedern machte er den Sykomoren gleich, die in der Niederung sind, an Menge.
16Und die Ausfuhr der Rosse für Salomo geschah aus Ägypten; und ein Zug Handelsleute des Königs holte einen Zug um Geld.
17Und sie brachten herauf und führten aus Ägypten einen Wagen aus um sechshundert Sekel Silber, und ein Roß um hundertfünfzig. Und also führte man für alle Könige der Hethiter und für die Könige von Syrien durch ihre Hand aus.

1Y SALOMÓN hijo de David fué afirmado en su reino; y Jehová su Dios fué con él, y le engrandeció sobremanera.
2Y llamó Salomón á todo Israel, tribunos, centuriones, y jueces, y á todos los príncipes de todo Israel, cabezas de familias.
3Y fué Salomón, y con él toda esta junta, al alto que había en Gabaón; porque allí estaba el tabernáculo del testimonio de Dios, que Moisés siervo de Jehová había hecho en el desierto.
4Mas David había traído el arca de Dios de Chîriath-jearim al lugar que él le había preparado; porque él le había tendido una tienda en Jerusalem.
5Asimismo el altar de bronce que había hecho Bezaleel hijo de Uri hijo de Hur, estaba allí delante del tabernáculo de Jehová, al cual fué á consultar Salomón con aquella junta.
6Subió pues Salomón allá delante de Jehová, al altar de bronce que estaba en el tabernáculo del testimonio, y ofreció sobre él mil holocaustos.
7Y aquella noche apareció Dios á Salomón, y díjole: Demanda lo que quisieres que yo te dé.
8Y Salomón dijo á Dios: Tú has hecho con David mi padre grande misericordia, y á mí me has puesto por rey en lugar suyo.
9Confírmese pues ahora, oh Jehová Dios, tu palabra dada á David mi padre; porque tú me has puesto por rey sobre un pueblo en muchedumbre como el polvo de la tierra.
10Dame ahora sabiduría y ciencia, para salir y entrar delante de este pueblo: porque ¿quién podrá juzgar este tu pueblo tan grande?
11Y dijo Dios á Salomón: Por cuanto esto fué en tu corazón, que no pediste riquezas, hacienda, ó gloria, ni el alma de los que te quieren mal, ni pediste muchos días, sino que has pedido para ti sabiduría y ciencia para juzgar mi pueblo, sobre el cual te he puesto por rey,
12Sabiduría y ciencia te es dada; y también te daré riquezas, hacienda, y gloria, cual nunca hubo en los reyes que han sido antes de ti, ni después de ti habrá tal.
13Y volvió Salomón á Jerusalem del alto que estaba en Gabaón, de ante el tabernáculo del testimonio; y reinó sobre Israel.
14Y juntó Salomón carros y gente de á caballo; y tuvo mil y cuatrocientos carros, y doce mil jinetes, los cuales puso en las ciudades de los carros, y con el rey en Jerusalem.
15Y puso el rey plata y oro en Jerusalem como piedras, y cedro como cabrahigos que nacen en los campos en abundancia.
16Y sacaban caballos y lienzos finos de Egipto para Salomón; pues por contrato tomaban allí los mercaderes del rey caballos y lienzos.
17Y subían, y sacaban de Egipto, un carro por seiscientas piezas de plata, y un caballo por ciento y cincuenta: y así se sacaban por medio de ellos para todos los reyes de los Hetheos, y para los reyes de Siria.

1And Solomon the son of David was strengthened in his kingdom, and the LORD his God was with him, and magnified him exceedingly.
2Then Solomon spake unto all Israel, to the captains of thousands and of hundreds, and to the judges, and to every governor in all Israel, the chief of the fathers.
3So Solomon, and all the congregation with him, went to the high place that was at Gibeon; for there was the tabernacle of the congregation of God, which Moses the servant of the LORD had made in the wilderness.
4But the ark of God had David brought up from Kirjath-jearim to the place which David had prepared for it: for he had pitched a tent for it at Jerusalem.
5Moreover the brasen altar, that Bezaleel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, had made, he put before the tabernacle of the LORD: and Solomon and the congregation sought unto it.
6And Solomon went up thither to the brasen altar before the LORD, which was at the tabernacle of the congregation, and offered a thousand burnt offerings upon it.
7In that night did God appear unto Solomon, and said unto him, Ask what I shall give thee.
8And Solomon said unto God, Thou hast shewed great mercy unto David my father, and hast made me to reign in his stead.
9Now, O LORD God, let thy promise unto David my father be established: for thou hast made me king over a people like the dust of the earth in multitude.
10Give me now wisdom and knowledge, that I may go out and come in before this people: for who can judge this thy people, that is so great?
11And God said to Solomon, Because this was in thine heart, and thou hast not asked riches, wealth, or honour, nor the life of thine enemies, neither yet hast asked long life; but hast asked wisdom and knowledge for thyself, that thou mayest judge my people, over whom I have made thee king:
12Wisdom and knowledge is granted unto thee; and I will give thee riches, and wealth, and honour, such as none of the kings have had that have been before thee, neither shall there any after thee have the like.
13Then Solomon came from his journey to the high place that was at Gibeon to Jerusalem, from before the tabernacle of the congregation, and reigned over Israel.
14And Solomon gathered chariots and horsemen: and he had a thousand and four hundred chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen, which he placed in the chariot cities, and with the king at Jerusalem.
15And the king made silver and gold at Jerusalem as plenteous as stones, and cedar trees made he as the sycomore trees that are in the vale for abundance.
16And Solomon had horses brought out of Egypt, and linen yarn: the king’s merchants received the linen yarn at a price.
17And they fetched up, and brought forth out of Egypt a chariot for six hundred shekels of silver, and an horse for an hundred and fifty: and so brought they out horses for all the kings of the Hittites, and for the kings of Syria, by their means.

1Solomon the son of David was firmly established in his kingdom, and the LORD his God was with him, and made him exceedingly great.
2Solomon spoke to all Israel, to the captains of thousands and of hundreds, to the judges, and to every prince in all Israel, the heads of the fathers’ households.
3Then Solomon, and all the assembly with him, went to the high place that was at Gibeon; for God’s Tent of Meeting was there, which the LORD’s servant Moses had made in the wilderness.
4But David had brought God’s ark up from Kiriath Jearim to the place that David had prepared for it; for he had pitched a tent for it at Jerusalem.
5Moreover the bronze altar that Bezalel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, had made was there before the LORD’s tabernacle; and Solomon and the assembly were seeking counsel there.
6Solomon went up there to the bronze altar before the LORD, which was at the Tent of Meeting, and offered one thousand burnt offerings on it.
7That night, God appeared to Solomon and said to him, “Ask for what you want me to give you.”
8Solomon said to God, “You have shown great loving kindness to David my father, and have made me king in his place.
9Now, LORD God, let your promise to David my father be established; for you have made me king over a people like the dust of the earth in multitude.
10Now give me wisdom and knowledge, that I may go out and come in before this people; for who can judge this great people of yours?”
11God said to Solomon, “Because this was in your heart, and you have not asked riches, wealth, honor, or the life of those who hate you, nor yet have you asked for long life; but have asked for wisdom and knowledge for yourself, that you may judge my people, over whom I have made you king,
12therefore wisdom and knowledge is granted to you. I will give you riches, wealth, and honor, such as none of the kings have had who have been before you, and none after you will have.”
13So Solomon came from the high place that was at Gibeon, from before the Tent of Meeting, to Jerusalem; and he reigned over Israel.
14Solomon gathered chariots and horsemen. He had one thousand four hundred chariots and twelve thousand horsemen that he placed in the chariot cities, and with the king at Jerusalem.
15The king made silver and gold to be as common as stones in Jerusalem, and he made cedars to be as common as the sycamore trees that are in the lowland.
16The horses which Solomon had were brought out of Egypt and from Kue. The king’s merchants purchased them from Kue.
17They imported from Egypt then exported a chariot for six hundred pieces of silver and a horse for one hundred fifty. They also exported them to the Hittite kings and the Syrian kings.
