ORA, dopo queste cose, avvenne che figliuoli di Moab, e i figliuoli di Ammon, e con loro altri d'infra gli Ammoniti, vennero per far guerra contro a Giosafat.

PASADAS estas cosas, aconteció que los hijos de Moab y de Ammón, y con ellos otros de los Ammonitas, vinieron contra Josaphat á la guerra.

It came to pass after this also, that the children of Moab, and the children of Ammon, and with them other beside the Ammonites, came against Jehoshaphat to battle.

E vennero de' messi, che rapportarono la cosa a Giosafat, dicendo: Una gran moltitudine di gente di di là dal mare, e di Siria, viene contro a te; ed ecco, essi sono in Hasason-tamar, che è Enghedi.

Y acudieron, y dieron aviso á Josaphat, diciendo: Contra ti viene una grande multitud de la otra parte de la mar, y de la Siria; y he aquí ellos están en Hasasón-tamar, que es Engedi.

Then there came some that told Jehoshaphat, saying, There cometh a great multitude against thee from beyond the sea on this side Syria; and, behold, they be in Hazazon-tamar, which is En-gedi.

Allora Giosafat ebbe paura, e si dispose a ricercare il Signore, e fece bandire il digiuno a tutto Giuda.

E que' di Giuda si raunarono per ricercare aiuto dal Signore; molti eziandio da tutte le città di Giuda vennero per ricercare il Signore.

E Giosafat, stando in piè nella raunanza di Giuda e di Gerusalemme, si presentò nella Casa del Signore, davanti al cortile nuovo, e disse:

And said, O LORD God of our fathers, art not thou God in heaven? and rulest not thou over all the kingdoms of the heathen? and in thine hand is there not power and might, so that none is able to withstand thee?

and he said, “LORD, the God of our fathers, aren’t you God in heaven? Aren’t you ruler over all the kingdoms of the nations? Power and might are in your hand, so that no one is able to withstand you.

Non hai tu, o Dio nostro, scacciati gli abitanti di questo paese d'innanzi al tuo popolo Israele? e non hai tu dato esso paese in perpetuo alla progenie d'Abrahamo, il quale ti amò?

Dios nuestro, ¿no echaste tú los moradores de aquesta tierra delante de tu pueblo Israel, y la diste á la simiente de Abraham tu amigo para siempre?

Art not thou our God, who didst drive out the inhabitants of this land before thy people Israel, and gavest it to the seed of Abraham thy friend for ever?

Laonde essi vi sono abitati, e ti hanno in esso edificato un Santuario per lo tuo Nome, dicendo:

Quando ci sopraggiugnerà alcun male, spada di punizione, o pestilenza, o fame, e noi ci presenteremo davanti a questa Casa, e davanti al tuo cospetto (consiossiachè il tuo Nome sia in questa Casa), e grideremo a te per la nostra tribolazione; esaudiscine, e salvaci.

Si mal viniere sobre nosotros, ó espada de castigo, ó pestilencia, ó hambre, presentarnos hemos delante de esta casa, y delante de ti, (porque tu nombre está en esta casa,) y de nuestras tribulaciones clamaremos á ti, y tú nos oirás y salvarás.

If, when evil cometh upon us, as the sword, judgment, or pestilence, or famine, we stand before this house, and in thy presence, (for thy name is in this house,) and cry unto thee in our affliction, then thou wilt hear and help.

E tutti que' di Giuda stavano diritti davanti al Signore, insieme co' lor piccoli fanciulli, con le lor mogli, e co' lor figliuoli.

ed egli disse: Voi tutti uomini di Giuda, ed abitanti di Gerusalemme, e tu re Giosafat, attendete: Così vi dice il Signore: Voi, non temiate, e non vi spaventate, per questa gran moltitudine; perciocchè questa guerra non appartiene a voi, anzi a Dio.

Y dijo: Oid, Judá todo, y vosotros moradores de Jerusalem, y tú, rey Josaphat. Jehová os dice así: No temáis ni os amedrentéis delante de esta tan grande multitud; porque no es vuestra la guerra, sino de Dios.

And he said, Hearken ye, all Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem, and thou king Jehoshaphat, Thus saith the LORD unto you, Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God’s.

and he said, “Listen, all Judah, and you inhabitants of Jerusalem, and you, King Jehoshaphat. The LORD says to you, ‘Don’t be afraid, and don’t be dismayed because of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God’s.

Domani andate contro a loro; ecco, essi montano per la salita di Sis, e voi li troverete all'estremità del torrente, dirincontro al deserto di Ieruel.

Mañana descenderéis contra ellos: he aquí que ellos subirán por la cuesta de Sis, y los hallaréis junto al arroyo, antes del desierto de Jeruel.

To morrow go ye down against them: behold, they come up by the cliff of Ziz; and ye shall find them at the end of the brook, before the wilderness of Jeruel.

Voi non avrete a combattere in questo fatto; presentatevi pure, e state fermi; e voi vedrete ciò che il Signore farà inverso voi per vostra salvazione; o Giuda, e Gerusalemme, non temiate, e non vi spaventate; domani uscite incontro a loro, e il Signore sarà con voi.

No habrá para qué vosotros peleéis en este caso: paraos, estad quedos, y ved la salud de Jehová con vosotros. Oh Judá y Jerusalem, no temáis ni desmayéis; salid mañana contra ellos, que Jehová será con vosotros.

Ye shall not need to fight in this battle: set yourselves, stand ye still, and see the salvation of the LORD with you, O Judah and Jerusalem: fear not, nor be dismayed; to morrow go out against them: for the LORD will be with you.

Allora Giosafat s'inchinò con la faccia verso terra; e tutto Giuda, e gli abitanti di Gerusalemme, si gittarono giù davanti al Signore, per adorarlo.

Entonces Josaphat se inclinó rostro por tierra, y asimismo todo Judá y los moradores de Jerusalem se postraron delante de Jehová, y adoraron á Jehová.

E la mattina seguente, il popolo si levò a buon'ora, ed uscì fuori verso il deserto di Tecoa; e, mentre usciva, Giosafat si fermò, e disse: Ascoltatemi, o Giuda, e voi abitanti di Gerusalemme; credete al Signore Iddio vostro, e voi sarete assicurati; credete a' profeti di esso, e voi prospererete.

E, tenuto consiglio col popolo, costituì de' cantori che cantassero al Signore, e lodassero la santa sua Maestà; e camminando dinanzi alla gente di guerra, dicessero: Celebrate il Signore; perciocchè la sua benignità è in eterno.

Y habido consejo con el pueblo, puso á algunos que cantasen á Jehová, y alabasen en la hermosura de la santidad, mientras que salía la gente armada, y dijesen: Glorificad á Jehová, porque su misericordia es para siempre.

And when he had consulted with the people, he appointed singers unto the LORD, and that should praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out before the army, and to say, Praise the LORD; for his mercy endureth for ever.

E nel medesimo tempo ch'essi cominciarono il canto di trionfo, e le laudi, il Signore pose agguati fra i figliuoli di Ammon, e i Moabiti, e que' del monte di Seir, i quali venivano contro a Giuda, ed essi si percossero gli uni gli altri.

Y como comenzaron con clamor y con alabanza, puso Jehová contra los hijos de Ammón, de Moab, y del monte de Seir, las emboscadas de ellos mismos que venían contra Judá, y matáronse los unos á los otros:

Ed i figliuoli di Ammon, e i Moabiti, si presentarono in battaglia contro agli abitanti del monte di Seir, per distruggerli, e per disperderli; e quando ebbero finito con gli abitanti di Seir, si aiutarono gli uni gli altri a disfarsi.

Pues los hijos de Ammón y Moab se levantaron contra los del monte de Seir, para matarlos y destruirlos; y como hubieron acabado á los del monte de Seir, cada cual ayudó á la destrucción de su compañero.

Ed egli camminò nella via di Asa, suo padre, e non se ne rivolse, facendo ciò che piace al Signore.

Nondimeno gli alti luoghi non furono tolti via; non avendo il popolo ancora addirizzato il cuore suo all'Iddio de' suoi padri.

Allora Eliezer, figliuolo di Dodava, da Maresa, profetizzò contro a Giosafat, dicendo: Conciossiachè tu abbi fatta compagnia con Achazia, il Signore ha dissipate le tue opere. E le navi furono rotte, e non poterono fare il viaggio in Tarsis.
